Anyone fancy a free Xbox gift card for the holidays?! Well, we've spotted Xbox giving these away to some lucky users for the month of December, and they're being received across console, PC and even Xbox Cloud Gaming.
At first glance this does seem to be quite rare, although there are multiple examples online of people who have received theirs already. Here's some of the proof we've come across so far:
And as mentioned, these are appearing not only on console, but on PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming as well.
If you're on Series X, S or Xbox One, you'll want to press the big Xbox guide button on your controller, go over to the "Parties & Chats" section, and see if there's anything from Xbox in "Chats" (make sure it's official!). On the Xbox PC app, you can click the "Friends" button in the bottom right and find the "Chats" tab. Alternatively, go on Xbox.com/play for Cloud Gaming, hit your profile icon in the top right and then go to "Offers & Credits" to see if there's anything in there.
I've personally not found one, so don't go expecting a gift card by any means - it seems you'll need to be one the lucky few to have been selected. If you do get the message though, you'll need to make sure you redeem it by December 31st.

I did come across another example that ended up getting removed by the mods on Reddit, so these free Gift Cards are out there! Definitely seem to be rare though.
I have received one ! It's $14 CAD.
I didn't get Forza horizon before it delisted despite owning a dlc I didn't get gears reloaded for free despite playing and owning the game on disc so I'm not expecting to get anything free from Microsoft unfortunately!

I got one of those random $100 gift cards they gave away years ago. I was completely shocked and going crazy thinking it was a scam but it wasn’t and it definitely helped me get a Series X during the shortages. Still can’t believe it.
@Chip-Douglas I'm not sure to be honest as I haven't received one, but I assume it would appear in the "Social" section ("Chats" tab).
Never get one, but not surprised as I don't buy much from the store, Xbox is mostly my Game Pass device.

Checked mine, looks like I received a $10 card back in April. Had no idea. It’s expired now. I’ve only ever bought one $15 game off that store and that was years ago. I play everything off of Game Pass.

Ive never looked but Id be shocked if I got one as Ive only ever bought FH4 and dlc this gen. Series X is pretty much a GP machine only for me.
Microsoft knows that, by sending random gamers $10.00 gift cards, they will redeem it by purchasing something that costs way more than $10.00 that they would not have purchased otherwise. It's like me getting a random Kohl's coupon in the mail giving me $10.00 off my next purchase. lol.
