Free Play Days: Try These Xbox Games For Free (October 14-17)

Nice! By time finish downloading Master Chief Collection you should have maybe 5 mins to play before free days time is up.

Doubt anyone will buy Borderlands 3 if they don't fix the crashing. First crash was in the area where you do that quest for a psycho soon after I bought it. Before the game kept stuttering. Can't remember the second crash but my last crash was after leaving a weapon vending machine menu in that swamp place with dinosaurs or whatever they are. This was on Series S. Xbox version seems to be the worst version judging by a Google search. Game sticks and stutters all the time. Moved it onto an external drive until they hopefully fix it but until then I can't play it and I'm not touching it.

A "free play day" for insurgency would be nice.

@GuyinPA75 130 gig download takes me 40 minutes and I can just do it from my phone while I'm at work. One big issue I see people have with their download speed is they are trying to game and download at the same time. Microsoft throttles your speed to give the game high priority so you don't lag.

Free trials are pretty great but two of these games are already on game pass. I loved borderlands 1 ALOT and the second one was good too but the gameplay formula is stale to me.

Bloody Harvest is a good time around Halloween, always.

@Halucigens Well, people that don't live in big town or big city do have a very limited download speed and I'd bet the majority of people around the world aren't able to download 130 gigs in 40 mins...

@JON22 Have you tried it recently? I play BL3 on Series S quite regularly and never have any crashing issues with it. The stuttering was really bad after the crossplay update though. That was fixed a month or so ago.

@Shigurui I played it again after the game updated to show that standalone Tiny Tina game hoping they'd fixed it. My last crash was after that update. Also looking at the emails, pressing the l and r bumpers in the social menu randomly activates your special ability or grenade when you unpause it. The stuttering I can take but the crashing nope. Never had a problem with the previous games, both the original and frame boosted versions.

@JON22 Wow, that sounds terrible. I can honestly say I've never had anything that you describe happen to my game with hundreds of hours played both solo and co-op.

@JON22 That's rough. I've had the odd crash here and there but I have a lot of hours in to it and can't say I've ever experienced stuttering on my Series S. Try a fresh install instead of moving between hard drives, could help.

@Brobeans Space is at a premium and I've installed some games I haven't got around to playing yet (very bad habit) so until I can afford the ssd storage I won't bother with a fresh install.

@JON22 yeah, I feel like I’m constantly uninstalling, installing, or moving games to and from the SSD in the Series S. Hope the price of the Seagate expansion card goes down soon.
