With the success of a similar Space Marine style game recently MS would be wise to capitalize on the market for strong single-player and co-op space marine action.
The question is: Can they differentiate it enough from their own Halo and Gears franchises?

I love the game. It really does feel like a modern classic, not just because it's really well done, but because it feels like the games I grew up playing but dialed up to current technological levels. Remember Cybernator/Assault Suit Vulkan? Or Smash TV? Or Contra? To me it feels like those classics but in full 3D HD.

Seeing guardsmen mow down swarms of tyranids is a technical marvel to me, and the last-minute rallies and executions to restore shields as you get swarmed by smaller 'nids on all sides still feels awe-inspiring.

I'm glad this gaming company is focused on saving the world from...carbon?

I'm getting older and can't unlearn decades of standardisation to re-learn some new control scheme on a whim Ubisoft.

The game doesn't look good enough to justify not being 60fps. I'll play it on PC instead (and probably at a much later date on a steeper discount).

Buying an arcade stick for Xbox fightan games has been a really bad investment lately.

For a distant-third in desperate need of games MS sure seems intent on not getting any ******* games.

I was hoping now that MS owns id and Activision there might be more word on the Hexen/Heretic and other old Raven games front but still nada.

And with that I'm out.
Xbox is close to dead anyway so I'm just getting off the ride before the corpse starts to smell.

Xbox needed to have a great showcase just to survive this gen IMO. And they pulled it off, surprisingly. Here's hoping Avowed doesn't disappoint.

Shadow is disappointing compared to the first two in the rebooted survivor trilogy.

The tank controls are flawless once you get the hang of them and you understand how the game and the maps were designed around them.

If the Surface team isn't working on some kind of Steamdeck for Xbox they are leaving money on the table.

Game Pass as a third party subscription with a dedicated handheld like Switch that's digital only seems like the future for Xbox.

I hope this is the team that made the old Saints Row games.
If this is the team responsible for the new Saints Row then I don't want any of it.

I think this is great news, I expect a bit more freedom for character building in an open world game. Keep the more restrictive class builds for the party-based CRPG experience.

I'll wait a few years for the "GOTY" version that includes all the DLC and updates and actually feels like a finished product. If it ever gets there.

Couldn't play it. It made me motion sick. The FOV was too narrow and there was no option to change it in the accessibility settings.

MS just paid billions of dollars for COD, for it to not even be exclusive, and this year's game seems to be ***** the bed so hard it might kill the franchise.

Honestly I'm most excited by the news of Turok 3 and Star Wars Dark Forces getting remastered by Nightdive. Killing Floor 3 is a welcome addition too. But they're not on the list for getting focus during the show.

I'm playing FFXVI on PS5 and Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on XSX and Fire Emblem on Switch. I've got a lot of fantasy sword fighting happening at the moment.

Believing anything about a Fable game before the game is released is just asking to be disappointed. I can't even count the number of broken promises with just the first game in the series.

AAA can't die soon enough IMO. These budgets are time-frames are insane. Smaller projects, tighter budgets, stricter deadlines, and appeal to a niche instead of trying to make every game for every body and ultimately pleasing no-one.
And hire people that actually like the games you're making to avoid the Halo situation.

You're telling me Starfield is going to look better than FFXVI while using BOTW's frame rate? Maybe if Bethesda used a modern game engine and didn't rely on Gamebryo they could get some more performance out of it.

May was a pass on Xbox for me. It had nothing to compete with Tears of the Kingdom.

Knowing Bethesda we'll be lucky if it runs at all.
And if it does run at 60fps it will be because of a bug lol.

Keen for Everspace 2's full release. I've been wanting a new open-world space-sim for so long. The first one was good but the rogue-lite nature just wasn't what I was looking for.

As someone who gets motion sickness easily, stuff like this is appreciated. Thanks for covering the game and not ignoring it.

Infernax is amazing. If you enjoyed Zelda 2, Castlevania 2, or even Faxanadu or Battle for Olympus you, will have a blast. I played it non-stop until I'd beaten it 100%. Great game and a love letter to some of the classics of my childhood.

Infernax for me. A classic game inspired by the classics.

Can't wait to play through it again, I see some if the mods I used in the PC version have been added so that's amazing.
