Halo 3 Wins 'Game Of The Year' As GameStop Reveals Its Full Set Of Awards For 2025

Of all the games we expected to see winning a "Game of the Year" award for 2025, Halo 3 wasn't one of them! Nevertheless, the classic 2007 Xbox shooter has just been awarded that title by none other than GameStop.

In a six-minute video, it's revealed that Battlefield 6, Donkey Kong Bonanza, Ghost of Yotei and Halo 3 were up for GameStop's "Game of the Year", with Halo 3 crowned as "the best game of the year for the 18th year in a row".

Here's a look at the confirmation, along with the video of the announcement:

Now of course, this is all pretty silly β€” but the awards themselves are a mix of serious and not-so serious stuff. For example, GameStop itself won the "Game Store of the Year" award, but then Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won "Best Xbox Game", GTA 6 won "Most Anticipated Game" and Fortnite won "Comeback of the year".

You can check out videos for all of these on the GameStop Twitter account if you're interested, but for now we'll leave you with a list of winners down below. Halo 3 reigns supreme once again!
