C. It started pretty well with a LOT of promising trailers but lulled in the middle and then didn’t nail the finish. Also too much CGI not enough gameplay. Lastly too many awards were rushed through.
But there were still a lot of good looking games overall.
I mean it probably was the best show yet but it’s way too long…
Still a better option to watch the trailers later and read the award winners.
There was just way too much filler, swear to god 50% of the trailers where Gatcha-Gooner games. The start was good, but there wasn't anything interesting until the very end.
For me, between D or C.
Even so, I think Xbox has an increasingly worrying problem: many projects seem to have no problem skipping the Xbox Store. Some of these games will probably arrive later (which is still a problem), and others are Asian or very niche games, but it's clear that for many developers, Xbox is not a priority. This, added to the fact that Xbox already does everything multiplatform, leaves the platform in a really bad situation.
Someone at Microsoft should bang their fist on the table and wake up the management, or things at Xbox could reach a point of no return.
Better than expected. Though I have to dock as many points as humanly possible for putting the mental image of Geoff Keighley and Miss Piggy having a romantic mattress mambo in my head.
Six years of therapy undone in a few minutes.
Well, so much for that "as good as guaranteed" Black Flag reveal showing up 🤨....Think Divinity, Requiem and that No Law were all that got me perked up tbh 🙂
F because it's still The Game Awards.
I feel like whoever put A is a huge 33 fan.
A D. Megaman could’ve boosted it to at least a B if Clair Obscur didn’t receive literally every award it was nominated for except for one. It’s bad when you get grateful that the bots gave an award to a gatcha game.
I hate the doritopope but between Exodus, Total War 40k, and Casey Hudson making an Old Republic game, that's an automatic A+.
C/D couple of good announcements. The rest was trash really.
C.
It got real boring knowing Clair Obscur would sweep up 33 game awards.
Too much cinematic trailers. No game, no hype.
The big finish was a damn joke.
Miss Piggy carried hard though.
Also, they should stop rapid firing most of the awards and GIVE THE ESPORTS WINNERS ACCEPTANCE SPEECHESS!
I would say B for the announcements. Some cool games there. Awards part I never really care about.
Disappointed in the lack of Gears Eday news but I suppose they are saving all that for their Direct next month
As a show named The Game Awards there's little to celebrate the amazing games and the the people behind it. Some of the Awards were like this could've been an email. While unnecessary game trailers fill up most of the runtime. Someone should knock Geoff big ego a peg or two down. Nothing speaks about this is an award show.I don't see any game journalist bring this up at all.
