PlayStation Highlights Halo: Campaign Evolved As One Of Its 'Must-Play' Games For 2026

It's just a shame they aren't putting any multiplayer into the game for both Xbox and playstation

I recently finished Halo CE Anniversary (360) and while some of the levels are a bit repetitive the moment to gameplay combined with that unforgettable music remains superb.

It’s all dam crazy to an old gamer like me and I will miss the Xbox Vs PlayStation console sales battles and the competition will be very missed and bad for us gamers.

We will be left with 2 major console players N and S and you can already see them getting a bit lazy and keeping the prices high.

Anyway sad to really see this sort of thing happen, but it is what it is now, I’m afraid.

Hopefully Xbox will get something in return next year, I bet probably uncharted legacy of Thieves Collection or Horizon Zero Dawn

There's no two ways about it, Xbox have not chosen to do this, they have been forced to do this both by the Microsoft leadership and also the prevailing winds that Xbox is facing. If things were going swimmingly, Xbox would still have exclusives.

Sony, are facing some challenges too, mostly of their own making whereby they invested too much time and money into failed and failing Live Service games, and not enough money into the type of games that made them what they are today, which has therefore seen far fewer single-player games releasing this generation than is typical for Sony. However, Sony do not have the imperative to put their games on the Xbox in the way that Microsoft do. Thus, the only Sony made games that we will be getting on the Xbox are Live Service games, so you will be waiting quite some time before you get the type of games that you mention. Indeed, I would suggest that if we are ever to get them on the Xbox, it will not be until probably 3 years after the release of the PS6 because Sony still see the value of exclusives as a way to sell consoles. I'm sure Xbox do too, but they have shifted way too few consoles this generation (and last) meaning that they do not have the luxury of waiting to see how their next console performs...

It’s smart as they’re showing people “PS5 has our tenpole exclusives plus all these third-party games including Xbox’s” while Xbox consoles are being outsold by the Switch 1 and even some Kinect-like startup…

I seriously hate this. Sony could not have dreamed of a bigger trophy, parading it proudly while holding Xbox’s head high after a decade of third-party locks…

@Fiendish-Beaver Well, I predict Sony will port single player games for Xbox in 2026/2027 and beyond. They will start with legacy titles, it could even be Days Gone & Returnal as Xbox debut. In the long run everything will come because Nixxes has nothing to do after Yotei PC port

@rhyno_888 if Sony were to start porting beyond PC, my thought is they would go to Switch first, due to the large install base. Xbox Ally and future iterations - if the rumors are true - will already be able to play PS games via their PC ports. But we will all just wait and see what happens

And why wouldn't they? The more successful the game is on playstation, the larger the amount of money will be from selling it on their store..I wonder if Halo studios will enable cross-platform co-op, it would be nice.

@rhyno_888 Given the disastrous sales of Xbox hardware lately and how many people have been abandoning the platform, why would they bother at all? Perhaps Switch 2 ports would make more sense.
