It's a good move by Sony. As a lot on here and other places have said that they would get the next Xbox, givinh them access to PC, Xbox and PlayStation games. Plus the release of the steam machine is another option.

Keeping PlayStation games only available to PlayStation is the best way to make sure ppl continue to buy their system. They'll probably continue to release the live service games on PC. Though hopefully they've learnt their lesson on that as well. First party output has been heavily impacted due to their live service push at the start of the generation.

The new head of Xbox has been bigging up the console side of things. Time will tell how important the next Xbox is to them. I can't see MS moving from the publisher role it's become. Continuing to push everything everywhere.

Oh a lot of that reads like the typical crap that's said before a shed load of Ai is introduced.

I'll not be buying this or any other upgrade packs for GPU games. Current plan is to play the standard edition on GPU and then in a year or so once the DLCs have released pick it up on sale for the PS5 Pro.

Horizon 5 is great on the PS5 Pro. Since its been so long since I did any of the story side I had forgotten most of it, so was like a new game. 😂 Think I'll just play the free edition on GPU and then after the expansion packs have released will pick it up for the PS5 Pro on sale. I really hope they dont have a trophy for winning the eliminator in H6! Ghost of Yotei is great but it doesn't hit the same as Ghost of Tsushima. I've still a good way to go in Yotei, but so far feel the story in Tsushima was better.

On its 25th anniversary, this is going to be a year full of great games for Xbox. Last year my series X got a lot more use than it had in a long time. This year it might actually overtake the PS5. Looking forward to FH6 the most, been waiting that long for a new one I bought FH5 on the PS5 and started it all fresh.

At the minute I'd probably not buy one. I have no interest in paying a premium just to be able to buy steam games. Will see what is happening Xbox wise in 2 years or so time before making a final decision. Though I'm happy atm using my series X as a gamepass console and the PS5 Pro as my main console. With the switch 2 just sitting there in the corner collecting dust.

Wish they'd do a remake of this game. Really liked it.

Played for a couple of days over the weekend. Every other game had some bit of stuttering. Can't be bothered uninstalling and reinstalling. Went back to Cold War.

GTA 6 will get delayed again and then become a launch title for the new Xbox and PS6.

I've no interest in playing PC games. So this doesn't interest me. Think this is more of an issue for MS than Sony. So far going into the next gen it seems that the Xbox main selling point was going to be access to steam. Unlike Sony, MS needs to do something to expand their player base. So I don't see why Sony would want or need to try and copy MS on steam access. It would obviously destroy their console eco system. They make loads from selling games on their digital store. Why would they want to lose that when they don't need to?

Bought Battlefield 6 and have dropped it and gone back to Blops6. Looking forward to Blops7.

As my series X is only used for GPU I can't see me getting this Xbox PC. I don't have any interest in playing PC games so why would I pay a premium to get access to them. I have 2 years of GPU built up. So depending on how the reward points to GPU goes I'll maybe just be replacing my series X when it dies with another series X.

@IronMan30 Yes the prices of consoles are getting close to PCs which if u said that to people years they would say ur crazy. Guess that's why Xbox is going down the route of trying to mix the two to get a wider player base. There's a rumor that the PS6 is going to have 2 versions and 1 of them is going to be a handheld. I think the best would be a handheld as powerful as the PS5 and then a dock. Where the dock works together with the handheld to boost it to full next gen levels. I think this next gen could be the one where it's worth holding onto ur current gen for a year or so just to see what happens.

@IronMan30 Hybrid as in it'll play console and PC games. Not hybrid like the switch / switch 2.

Can see this being a tough sell. Xbox isn't selling well as it is but they want to go after PC gamers and pass the charge onto console gamers. Why would a PC gamer buy a locked in box that they can't make any changes to? That's one of the main points of playing games on PC. I hope they dont have another S and X version. Just stick to the most powerful one. At the minute I'll be keeping my gamepass console, I mean series X. As it's not my main console, so I won't be paying 1k for something that doesn't get much use.

Got 2 years of GPU built up through rewards points. Will keep earning them. But GPU is not something I use enough to warrent paying for. So will probably leave in a few years time. I'm not sure if I'll bother getting the new Xbox. I have no interest in steam or PC gaming in general. So it's big selling point is not of interest to me.

@FraserG They're buffing the numbers but it's worse if u use the points for ur gamepass subscription. You can't renew points for gamepass subscription now. You need to convert to Xbox gift card and then buy the gamepass subscription. Which works out as more points.

There must be a new console coming next year. Fable and this are what u would usually class as launch titles for a new generation.

It's been a while and I still don't get the point of this article. Is it just you trying to justify not buying a switch 2?

Went out to buy something completely different to what they already have and ended up buying the cheaper version of something they already have.

Used to have to pay full price for the vault edition. Now it's on gamepass I'm saving money and still getting the vault edition. Though I do hope they actually tone down the skins in BO7.

@SMJ It works for MS because they're integrating into PC and getting their games onto every platform. They don't care so much about what u play the game on just so long as they're getting money for u playing the game. So outsourcing the hardware suits them as already seen. Sony is different and their main selling point is more leaning into exclusivity. I think that would need to shift a lot for them to start outsourcing their hardware designs. Come 2038 though anything could happen.

@TheEstablishment 😁 Gotta get the best nights sleep. I'm with u on the PC gaming. It's way too much hassle compared to consoles. That's why I'm worried about MS pushing the console into the PC space. It's the wrong way to go in my opinion. Though suits them with the outsourcing of the hardware. They just become fully software business again. They'll be hoping AI can do loads for them when it comes to making games in the future. Hope I'm wrong but it smells that way.

@Project13 As I said originally I'm not anti-PC. If u like that way of playing then that's OK. I just said it's not for me. That's why I was saying I won't be jumping to the next console MS release. My series X is a gamepass console, I don't buy games on it at all. If the PS6 is a suitable jump over my PS5 Pro then I will be getting it. With MS removing any exclusivity and releasing on PlayStation the more likely I am to just go from 2 consoles to 1.

@Project13 Yea na, still very much an issue from what I hear. The new AI stuff for GPUs is also causing problems. I got into PC gaming because of PUBG. Left because of the cheating. Driver issues were an issue for me when I was playing the year or so before covid hit. My PC was more powerful than one of my streaming mates and for a time looked worse than his! PC just isn't as refined as console. That's because a console is built to do only 1 thing where a PC is used for everything. Enjoy playing on PC, I just don't and it's not a lack of experience that causes it.

@Project13 Oh I'm not against PC gaming. More it's just not for me. When I want to play games I want to be able to turn it on and play. Not fart around fixing driver issues and the amount of cheating in MP shooters is crazy.

@Project13 100%! I'm not going to be jumping to get rid of the series X for the console / PC they're replacing it with. They're pushing more into catering for PC and that is not something that interests me at all. Even less when they're going to be outsourcing them to 3rd parties. Oh u bought the new Xbox in 2027. We'll it's 2028 and Asus Are launching their even more powerful one. Then same again in 2029 and onward etc. I did the PC gaming for a few years and just no. Give me a console every day of the week. I think even the PS6 is going to be a hard sell to get people to replace the PS5 Pro.

Guessing it's going to be the elite series 3 controller.

@SMJ They're def going that way. Think 100% that the next console will be the last one they develop themselves. Gonna outsource everything. Sony will be telling MS you can reskin our PS6 pro as a new Xbox when we release the PS7.

The Battlefield 6 beta got me back into playing BO6. Perhaps I treated it too harshly. So interested to see what BO7 will be like as I'll be playing it not Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6 felt exhausting to play and gave me a sore head. Couldn't play more than 3 games in a row. Never had that with COD or any other game.

Info on the next console would be good. They have to release Fable and the new Gears. Confirm the next Forza Horizon game.

Played a some of it and enjoyed it but for some reason always felt exhausted after a few games and gave me a sore head as well. Never had that issue with COD. So I'll probably skip it.

There's no "about to" about it. Motorsport is practically dead with MS wiping out the team and moving them over to the Horizon side.

Unfortunately this does indeed sound like it's the end of the road for Forza Motorsport. Def on end of life support and once everything has been added it'll just be general bug fixes and keeping the servers switched on. The game wasn't ready when it released. They also should not have gone for a live service model, especially for single player. It's sad as I can't see there being any follow ups.

AI is looking after it now.

@Fiendish-Beaver I hope the same and they release in 2027. Though they could use the anniversary as an excuse to go early on the next gen. Which I really hope they don't. PSN premium is def not worth the price. The lowest teir isn't too bad, you do get some good months tbf. I only use the series X for gamepass and buy everything else on the PS. If ur thinking of not getting the next xbox and using gamepass through PC, u might be best starting to buying ur third-party games on PS. Have a good backlog ready for the PS6. 😂

@Millionski I main on the PS5 Pro, but all gamepass games I play on the series X. Last year, this year and next year are 🔥. The issue comes with how the 3rd parties are going to be allowed to release new "Xbox" consoles going forward. Like why would I buy a Xbox only for a new version to be released the following year. With all the Xbox games coming to Sony now, the need to have both or in fact an Xbox over a Playstation is greatly reduced. I don't have a need to access PC store fronts. So this innovation doesn't interest me.

Have gamepass for another couple of years. So will be waiting to see what exactly their strategy will be. I'm hoping they do 1 more generation of their own console before switching to 3rd parties. If they do go down the 3rd party route I hope it is controlled and stops companies from just releaseing new ones every year or even worse just when they feel like it.
