We've talked about Exodus a couple of times over the past few years here at Pure Xbox - an upcoming sci-fi RPG that bares more than a few resemblences to Mass Effect, and we absolutely can't wait to check it out in April 2027.

In the game, you'll be able to play as either a male or female version of the main character known as Jun Aslan, although the male version has now received a change in appearance following poor feedback from the initial reveal.

You can see the difference in the image above, as well as in the video at the bottom of this page. Our sister site Push Square also published a story on this yesterday with a comparison image of their own:

Here's what the development team had to say about this change:

"We've seen your conversations and feedback over the last few months around our male Jun character model. We've been listening, and we take that feedback seriously. We've continued to refine Jun as we worked on him and the rest of the game."

Honestly, we haven't been following the discourse around this character since the Exodus reveal, but it doesn't really feel like Jun needed a visual overhaul. The new version is fine too, but certainly seems to de-age the character.

We'd love to hear your thoughts about this in the comments section below, and we'll have more details to share in the lead up to Exodus's release on April 7th, 2027. Pre-orders aren't yet available for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but it's definitely coming to those platforms, and it'll also support Xbox Play Anywhere from day one.
