Can see them keeping the elite series 3 for the new console. Because it wouldn't make sense to release it without all the extra features the new standard controller will have like haptics.

There is already some amount of games releasing this year. So it's possible that Fable slips to 2026. If it does, then Fable, Gears of War, Horizon 6 and Halo remake should probably be the day 1 games for the new console. Which would be a killer line up, though they'll probably shoot themselves in the foot and make series S and X versions.

Doesn't seem to work with EA Play games on GPU. Tried it yesterday with FC 24 and it didn't work. Haven't got round to checking today. So maybe it's working now.

Losing the achievement points means I'll not be playing as many games like peppa pig in the future.

Well the new quests are not working for me atm. Got the 10 points for playing a game on console for 15 minutes but it didn't work for the quest, despite being a gamepass game. Are the quests working for anyone else?

I hope that MS learn from this and they don't split the install base again.

@GuyinPA75 Yea, there's been quite a lot of build quality issues with the elite. Hopefully they take what they've learnt from it and improve the next version.

@Trmn8r The elite series 2 is the best controller for shooters. I don't use it for any other games. 😂 The only reason I can see them bringing out a series 3 is with the new haptic feedback. The PS5 edge is def a step up from the normal controller. But the triggers are a bit off when compared to the elite.

Finally got starting it and it's good! Though got too many games going at the same time so will finish off a couple of games and then focus on it. Wouldn't say no to another game from what I've played so far.

@Sol4ris The PS5 controller is far better than the Xbox controller because it has haptics and adaptive triggers. The controller was one of the main differentiators between the 2 consoles when they launched. I would recommend giving it a go. The Xbox controller and elite series 2 are great, but when implemented well the PS5 controller just makes the experience better. I am looking forward to getting an Xbox controller with haptics. Hopefully an elite series 3 is on the way with the next console.

I have my free GPU stacked until 2026. I'll be watching with interest to see if the proper big classic xbox franchises do go timed exclusive before going multiplatform. If they do, it'll make it a hard sell to buy the next xbox over the PS6. If they keep pushing to the cloud, I won't be following them.

My most played game this year. Massively better than it was at launch.

Didn't even get mine last year because it was hardly switched on. This year has been a lot different.

Until Sony let GPU on their console then MS will need to continue making a GPU console.

Have a series X and have no need for a handheld device. So will be something I'll be skipping.

Only played multiplayer for a couple of hours last night, but it's far better than the last lot of modern warfare games. Not sure if I'm going to play the campaign or just continue on multiplayer tonight. Should get about 6 hours in tonight.

BLOPS 6 weekend! Can't see me playing anything else this weekend at all.

MS def need to keep some games exclusive. Halo, Gears and Forza should remain xbox exclusive. There's no point in sending everything over to PlayStation if you want to sell consoles.

Series X for GPU and PS5 for everything else.

Dirt 5, I'm feeling nostalgic. Haven't played that in a long time. Working through frog detective before it leaves for the achievement a day. Though don't actually need them for the monthly reward but best using them before they go.

@andrewsqual The only game I'm really looking forward to playing on my PS5 Pro is ghost of Yotei. COD and Indy are free with gamepass, so why would I buy them? 😂 Couple of games listed here I was looking at but they're going to be on gamepass as well. I'll still be playing through my backlog as well. So only 1 new game for me for next year so far.

At this rate the PS5 Pro will only be getting used for Ghost of Yotei next year. 😂

Surprised they hadn't got rid of it sooner! Makes no sense at all to let people join for £1 when their biggest release is coming up.

Should have just stuck to rally games. They lost the WRC contract to EA and then went to this. When they have the V-rally brand which they could have revived and turned into a yearly release. Would have done well considering how awful EA WRC is. Haven't touched it in a long time so maybe they fixed the stuttering.

I can see the handheld system doing well. Def seems to be a massive market for it. I have no need for a handheld system. I got rid of the PS portal and don't have a daily commute on public transport. Or any daily commute. 😂 Hopefully the new console isn't that cloud console.

Saw something about the next generation of xbox releasing in 2026 instead of 2028. Could be a new Halo game to go with it.

Aww man not paw patrol. Had been saving it for a for when I just needed easy achievements. Guess I'll finish it this month even though I don't need the achievements for the 1000 reward points.

Was good to get the single player out of the way then could just play multiplayer on the release day.

PS5 and series X is all u need for this generation. This is a minimal upgrade at a stupidly high price point. With that price maybe they're aiming to make people that are still to upgrade from last gen to go for the standard PS5. Oh look the standard PS5 is X that's def a lot better value than the pro model. Sony are also like hoping people just keep playing the games that are already out because they currently have nothing announced for next year.

That's some amount of games. Some big games there. Also looking forward to Mixtape as The Artful Escape was really good.

Sony shouldn't have turned their backs on narrative driven single player games. Considering it's why they're in the position they're in. Most of Microsoft's big games that are coming out are mostly single player focused. Indy, Avowed, Fable etc. They have COD, halo and the forza games as their live service games.

@OldGamer999 Do any of the currently released games use the features? I haven't bought any of them on the PS5 because I play them as part of GPU so no point in paying twice for something. It's something that really should be implemented when moving to PS5. Also is there not a rumored new xbox controller with the same features being worked on. So could use it for testing.

It looks good, hopefully will be as good as Cold War.

Mafia was on PS+ last year, maybe even before then. But please bash Sony because it's now on GPU. 😂 I love GPU but please this generation has been awful for both series X and PS5 in regards to exclusives.

Though PlayStation exclusives are better than Xbox exclusives. For me anyway, I love single player story games. GoW, GoT, HFW, Ratchet and Clank.

Ghost of Tsushima was a PS4 release but dam it's amazing looking with the PS5 upgrade. It's also my favourite game of all time. The story and gameplay are just amazing and I've been informed I'm old now.

PS5 down on sales compared to PS4, can't remember the PS4 having a pandemic and economic issues affecting sales when it was released. People are a lot more careful with their money now. And rightly so, a lot of PS4 players have yet to upgrade. Same with xbox one!

Xbox sales are tanking! It's awful to see, because I used to skip Tec to play Halo on a jap import console at my local game.

Got a 360 on release and had to take it to my uni to display it at a show.

Xbox one I got after wrist surgery, because the controller was perfect to use while in a cast.

COD moving to GPU has made me go back to my series X. Forza Motorsport has improved ten fold since I played it on release. It, Halo, Gears and Forza horizon are my fave original Xbox exclusives. I've got GPU paid up until August 2026 thanks to MS reward points. Long may that continue as well as I've had GP and GPU since it was released and never paid full price for it.

The amount of exclusives coming out for xbox is unreal over the next couple of years. I would recommend people remember it hasn't always been like this.
