Wonder if Microsoft was able to strike a deal with konami and that would be the reason why they're having to alter plans 🤔

Xbox has pretty much owned the headlines so far this year with Megaton after Megaton in regards to gamepass. These past few weeks have had to change a lot of people's minds on the fact that gamepass is here to stay and Sony will need to adapt and bring PS now up to par. Of course this goes against everything Mr Ryan has previously said about the subscription service not having legs and that it isn't a substanable business model for them to adopt.

The time may be now for Jim and company to rethink some things, because Microsoft has momentum on their side and the resources to back it up.

@__jamiie I do when a Japanese game gets announced for Xbox. Just because they don't get as many as Playstation or nintendo.

Side note: when I see Japanese games on a system, I feel like that system's power level goes up like in dragon ball lol. I know that's probably weird but that's how I see it 🤷‍♂️

I have just about every noteworthy Japanese game that appeared on the Xbox 360. So having this on current gen hardware, be it remaster or remake, I say hell yeah! Do it!

I have kinda given up hope about Atlus coming back to xbox. They provide the 360 with a few decent titles, but ever since the debacle that was the Xbox one, most Japanese developers have taken a cautious approach with what games they grace xbox with. And I'm okay with this, I can play these games on Playstation or nintendo.

I guess since they couldn't increase the price we're left with crap choices lol

@Axlroselm I'm right there with you. Microsoft definitely needs Japanese support this gen if they're to compete against Sony.
They can't keep missing out on games that come out of Japan.
Already, Playstation has more exclusive deals with Japanese studios than Microsoft. That needs to change. Otherwise it's another last place finish for the guys in green.

The fact that it took an online backlash for them to reverse their stance on increasing cost for Xbox live is troubling. Their whole message with Xbox Series X has been about the gamer.

But then they immediately contradict themselves by possibly pricing out potential new gamers in one of the worst times in human history.

Not a good look for Microsoft and one that will not go unnoticed when people go to buy a console in the future.

Doesn't sound like we're missing out on much. 🤷‍♂️

Microsoft needs to put up or shut up. Yeah I get they got zenimax/Bethesda, but it feels a little watered down when we don't know for sure how exclusive this partnership is going to be. Sony can make blockbuster exclusives year after year with studios they have nurtured and supported. Microsoft's answer to that strategy is just to throw money at whomever and see who bites first.

If they're not going to go after big name Japanese talent, I feel this all going to amount to nothing in the long run.

Its pretty obvious no current Japanese studio wants to team up with xbox so their only option is to build it from the ground up.

They had a good thing going in the early days of Xbox 360 with Mistwalker. How in the world did that not bear more fruit than what it did i'll never know.

@Kefka2589 yep same as me. The 24 month gamepass is free i do believe. It's a really great deal i think, plus with it being the cheaper of the two consoles, I went with same day shipping so I'll have it on release day. It was an extra $18 but I can live with that.

Gamestop is accepting xbox series s pre-orders with xbox all access right now. I just pre-ordered mine.

Very excited by this development. Hopefully this is the beginning of the Xbox brand being widely accepted in the East. They seem to have a strategy in place, now they just have to execute it. Good luck Team Xbox 💚🇯🇵

Not a problem for me as I went directly to Walmart's website and pre-ordered my Xbox Series S! So excited!

@Medic_Alert @Medic_Alert I hear you. I actually platinum Final Fantasy XV amd Horizon Zero Dawn which even surprised me considering I usually don't have much patience to do every little thing in games that big. I do admit though, after pouring that much time into each of those, I felt drained and lost the excitement of playing and took a month or two hiatus.

I'm actually okay with this. The game didn't blow me away maybe it will change the longer its in development, but with Scarlett Nexus, Balan Wonderland Tale of Arise and Yakuza like a dragon coming soon, I can hold out til the eventual Xbox release of FFXVI.

@Darylb88 my apologies. I didn't fully get your comment the first time around. Totally understandable. Sony hasn't been the most forthcoming with info thus far and that has probably left a lot of people on the fence, myself included. I'm leaning towards xbox at t h e moment due to it being cheaper, and appearing to have learned from their Xbox One days on how to do business. No company is perfect but its hard to fault xbox these days with all the progress they've made since the don mattrick days.

@Darylb88 only ps4 games will be backwards compatible on ps5.

Pretty much all the Japanese games that haven't been added yet. Otogi, Crimson Sea, Magna Carta 2, Culdcept Saga, Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance and many more!

@KelticDevil Agreed. I wish so much that what he did could be undone and it would go back to how it used it to be. I love xbox, but I didn't get and Xbox one until a year ago or so. I played on an ps4 which had some good games, but my preference is Xbox and it just sucks that it never really developed into a worthy successor to the Xbox 360. Here's hoping to better days with the Xbox Series X!

@Tharsman I know that was my point. That was all due to the hardwork of others establishing those relations with developers and building Xbox to be a real force in the i industry. I feel if he hadn't gotten the role of Xbox boss, the Xbox 360 would have probably beaten the ps3. Xbox 360 will always have a special place in my heart cause it was the first time I felt like they actually stood a chance against Sony.

@Tharsman thats a little ironic considering the exclusives seemed to stop when he ran xbox. I feel the overall feel and quality left when he came on board. I mean, xbox 360 were getting games that were always associated with Playstation, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, even the Jrpgs were more prominent in the early days of 360 which I was so stoked for! Then he came along and xbox has never been the same since.

@Tharsman totally agree! He's the sole reason I believe why Xbox is in the state its currently in. He sucks balls and should never have held a position of power at Xbox

I want more of the 360's Jrpgs to be bc, Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, Dino Crisis 3, Otogi 1 and 2, Crimson Sea. So many great early xbox games that need to be revisited on new hardware!

I want to see big budget Japanese releases on Xbox Series X. As a lover of all things japan, that seems to be the one area where xbox has always struggled. If they're able to get to the level of xbox 360 support, then I would be happy. Please make it happen xbox for your loyal Japanese fans.
