A disc drive would be number one: number 2 would be to start releasing all past and future first party games in a physical format; games like Ghostwire Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush are two stand out games missing a physical release.

Japanese Xbox users are being hit with suspensions/bans over on Twitter this morning. Someone is looking into it.

@fizban3332 I honestly haven’t cared for this new era of silent hill. Ever since Konami outsourced it to foreign developers, the setting and atmosphere have all felt off.

Infinite Undiscovery from tri-Ace is an Xbox ip. I wonder if they could possibly be bringing it back. Of course they also have Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey in their stable just begging to be revived.

I wonder if all these sales have any impact in the decision making process of going all digital or staying loyal to the physical format. Of course, I suppose, the tell tale sign would be how many games are being bought digitally at full price on the marketplace to be the real indicator.

@Fiendish-Beaver same. I have duplicates of my most favorite 360 games. Play copies and sealed copies for games that might become really rare one day and even then, I probably couldn’t part with them. 360 holds a really special place in my heart I know that sounds crazy or weird but my some of my best memories involved Xbox 360.

@Fiendish-Beaver I have mostly collected for Xbox 360 around 100 games or so. I’ve had more original Xbox games at one point but I’m down to like 5 or 6. Xbox one/xbox series I have combined like 30. The majority of my 360 games are also sealed, can’t bring myself to open them.

The majority of their studios haven’t produced anything of note. Keep the developers of Fable, Forza, Halo, Outer Worlds, and let the others walk, but give them that choice! You shut down multiple studios now and all the goodwill Asha has garnered up til now will be thrown to the wayside in my humble opinion. Not necessarily by me but the gaming community as a whole will view this as another dark moment for the Xbox brand.

You can definitely tell the major Japanese studios save their best for the Nintendo Directs. Kinda bummed we don’t get Vanilla Ware’s new game but otherwise, a good Japanese showing for the Xbox crowd.

I may be wrong here, but I feel like the community senses a change in the air within Xbox and the vibes are immaculate. We’ve stood by Xbox and our loyalty is being rewarded. The only thing better is hearing that Xbox goes back to making their games exclusive.

People are seeing the positive effects Asha has been implementing plus a steady stream of quality content helps as well. I think slowly but surely the Xbox this community deserves is on the way back.

I think Xbox needs Helix to turn the whole situation around and start fresh and get back in the good graces with devs and customers alike. New CEO, new energy, boom! But it has to start somewhere and this Sunday is as good as chance as any.

I’m officially excited for this showcase next week. Asha is in charge and I believe she’s gonna want to knock it out of the park. Some remasters of 360 JRPGS would be a nice surprise, a new limited edition Series X for Halo 1 Remake or Gears of War E-Day, shadow drop backwards compatible games, new dashboard update, the return of movies and tv purchases, perhaps an renewed partnership with Mistwalker or Square Enix to produce exclusive JRPGs like they did with Xbox 360 would be a mic drop moment and a clear sign that this version of Xbox isn’t messing around.

I’ll be relaxing on the couch with the wife watching it while she’ll probably be engrossed in one of her true crime novels lol. Really looking forward to what Asha has in store for her first showcase.

I am cautiously optimistic that she will come through with bringing exclusives back, restart the backwards compatibility, and invest in physical releases for all first party games. She’s done good so far in bringing back some positive feedback relating to the small scope moves she’s made up to this point. As far as the major issues we all agree on that need to be rectified, let’s just give it time and see what plans she’s got cooking.

This gen is coming down to the end stage with a year or two left before next-gen arrives so you can bet they’ll both be bringing the excitement and hype for what’s next, and what’s coming later. A surprise Helix showing or trailer to cap off the show would be icing on the proverbial cake

XBOX is on fire. These moves weren’t being made when Phil and Sarah were in charge. Asha bringing the hype and excitement back to XBOX!

It’s hard to say if Helix had an influence in this decision, Sony taking away opportunities for more sales in favor of Xbox not getting access to them doesn’t make much sense. I’m more inclined to think Sony has heard Microsoft possibly taking back their exclusives so this move is counter to that.

This is definitely a new side to Xbox ever since Asha came on board. I’m sure this move was made by her to get fan input on which games they’d like brought back as well as possibly adding more BC titles in the future. Really liking the direction Xbox is heading in at the moment. Hopefully it continues.

@FarmDog08 I regret not spending more time with it early on. I’m making up for that now. After that, I plan on beating Blue Dragon.

I’m playing Lost Odyssey and Mass Effect. Two great games from the Xbox 360 generation I never got around to beating. Gonna fix that soon as I’m already on disc 3 with Lost Odyssey.

@fatpunkslim I would love, love, love for Xbox to get back into serious discussions about being a major player for Japanese exclusive titles like they were during the 360 era. And I feel Asha could the leader to make that happen.

@FraserG I know it’s early but I can’t help but be excited with the recent news/announcement's that Xbox has been making. Do you share that same sentiment, that xbox is tracking in a more positive direction of late?

Keep it up Asha you’re doing great. It’s tough having to play catch up since your predecessors did very little for the Xbox faithful. I like the energy and enthusiasm, it’s early but it looks like Xbox is in good hands once again.

I just voted for all the Xbox 360 jrpgs that didn’t get brought over as well as some excellent Japanese original Xbox games such as Castlevania Curse of Darkness, Crimson Sea and Silent Hill. It’ll be interesting to see how hard Xbox goes at this next attempt at adding to the backwards compatibility after suggesting years ago it was pretty much done with.

Seeing these very encouraging early changes has me feeling optimistic about the future of Xbox, a feeling I haven’t felt in quite some time. I can only hope the best is yet to come.

Microsoft first party games should go back to being Xbox exclusive and never should have been put on competing platforms in the first place. Will it happen though is anyone’s guess.

I want to see more of my wallpaper/background art. And more Xbox 360 games added to the backwards compatibility portfolio. And we can we get more special edition console releases??!! This generation is so behind on past Xbox consoles up to this point.

It’s hard to argue their reasons. Xbox has always been afterthought in Japan except for maybe a brief period during the Xbox 360 era. The only way NiS games comes to Xbox would be if Microsoft forked over a massive amount of funding and today’s Microsoft heads don’t seem to care much about Japan. It’s a wonder why the other big Japanese developers continue to support the console.

There were rumors of a Blue Dragon announcement I heard during the week but of course we get nothing. Xbox needs to start pumping out some exclusive Japanese content like we had in the 360 era.

Microsoft and Xbox can seriously go F*** themselves. They have become an absolute disgrace to the industry. Buying up studios just to close them months later. It’ll be so gratifying the day they exit from the console industry.

I’m going to be honest. I wasn’t blown away by any of it. The vibe Avowed gave off from the first teaser showed a much darker world and looked like it could be a next gen Skyrim.

Indiana Jones should have been a third person game and graphically looks bland compared to last gen’s Uncharted 4.

Hellblade being a digital only release is a bad omen for physical lovers like myself, and Ara is not suited for my tastes. And Square Enix’s surprise showing was an already announced multiplatform game.

I’m glad there was something for others to get excited about and look forward too, but for me personally, nothing really grabbed me.

Digital only release. Microsoft really pushing for an all digital future and I’m not thrilled about it.

I just want to see more high quality games out of Microsoft. Inconsistency in that area has really hampered them imo.

And make Japanese exclusives a focal point going forward from team Xbox.

I think it makes sense seeing how the first game was on the service.

The gamepass stuff didn’t impress me since I usually buy my games. Hotel game looks dumb. Where were the big games? The Yakuza games are quickly becoming very repetitive.

Only game from Square is Octopath Traveler 2.

I give the show a D. Microsoft has a lot of work to do in Japan.

For anyone who got one early on, I don’t see reason to. I feel these mid gen refreshes are for new adopters who have yet to purchase one.

So far it’s been a heavy loaded first half. Can’t remember a year when it’s been game after game to start the year off.

RE4R is my choice on the Xbox side.

At least this proves Microsoft isn’t strong arming developers to bring in under them like many others believe.

And it also shows Japanese developers have good relations with Xbox contrary to popular belief.
