Re: Vicarious Visions Is Being Merged Into Blizzard Entertainment

JGRockford

Yup, very disappointing.
They'll be dissolved/absorbed into obscurity. Blizzard themselves have significantly gone downhill in their quality since the merger with Activision.

As above, I'm glad they were able to push out a couple of projects, though I suspect this was a move in financial survival.

@Reverandjames
"I can pass criticism if I want".

As can we...

Do not be so ignorant of the fact while your approach has defined you as a pathetic individual who has no spine for receiving criticism in itself, other people will have their own opinions.

Not only of the subject at hand, but of yourself.

If you don't like it, you can absolutely try a more positive vibe, or simple move over to the sister site before your account is permanently compromised πŸ™„

Re: Josef Fares Blasts Xbox Series Naming Convention As A 'Total F**king Mess'

JGRockford

Let's go with Karen.

It may be quite confusing for Karen to by items for the new console with the who One X, and Series X.

Thing is, this guy works in the industry! He SHOULD know, because he's marketing/developing his game for these platforms.

Again, I'm quite certain it was a brain fart moment, and in frustration, moved into a rant, of which all the Karens can empathize with.

Seriously, the naming convention for these consoles isn't that difficult, unless you're Karen. Then (as Karen) you demand to speak to Uncle Phil, because the console name is unacceptable 🀣

Re: Microsoft Asks For Xbox 'Drift' Lawsuit To Be Moved Out Of Court

JGRockford

Have had drift twice while on PS4, and it's frustrating. Both cases on the left stick, around the time of Ghost of Tsushima (July), so may be from harder play. Saying that, I am careful with my gear.

Having quit intense PC gaming, and the timesink known as Warcraft (account deletion), I expect the new XBox controllers will have a significant workout.

Having received one faulty controller out of the box (unresponsive D-Pad), it was incredibly simple to send of for a replacement, where all costs are covered by Microsoft (Delivery and Hardware).

Re: Poll: Did You Buy An Xbox In 2020?

JGRockford

Yup, Series X on day one.
No Pre-order, and no issues.
Now enjoying GamePass, the expansion card (SSD), and a load of affordable games that have been on special (also from 3rd party sites).

Extremely happy with console after running Sony hardware over the past couple of generations (plus PC).

Re: Nine More Games Are Now Available With Xbox Game Pass (Dec 3)

JGRockford

While Control Ultimate can be picked up (with expansions attached), the X/S enchantments aren't kicking in until next year. Having the stock standard release on Gamepass is a fantastic option for those who just weren't invested enough to purchase it outright.

I've not played it yet, and picked up on Black Friday sale, asked happy to wait for patch, as there's plenty else to experience.

Though again, the stock standard option is free on Gamepass for those who can choose to look past the upgrade, as it's still a solid game.

Re: TIME Magazine Calls The Xbox Series S One Of The Best Inventions Of 2020

JGRockford

Keep an eye out for retail sites. I was lucky enough to grab an X on day one (10th). Any specialist game stores (EBGames & GAME) will likely be out of stock for some time.

The S looks like an awesome alternative to anyone just wanting a lightweight console for this generation. Although, I'd suggest ignoring talk from that other site, that S would not survive this generation, as they're mostly ignorant of scaling.

Re: PlayStation Has 'News To Come' On A Response To Xbox Game Pass

JGRockford

Yeah, I can absolutely see a merging of PS+ and PSNow, though will mean they need to make available to more countries (as PSNow is not an option in Australia).

The numpties from the sister site, waffling about GamePass not being sustainable and S not able to survive the generation is complete ignorance to borderline idiocy.

Re: Microsoft Considered Pulling The Plug On Xbox Back In 2014

JGRockford

Agreed!

Competition is healthy, and while I do rag on Sony, it's going to sell like a mofo. With Phil in the seat, we expect a much, much better experience through XBox, to if Microsoft had kept on the path for the XBox One.

As it is, I'm coming out from 3 generations of PlayStation, and almost 16 years of WoW (recently quit by account deletion (Very much recommend for those wanting to step away)). Have been building up the library, and even managed to grab Sky Force for my fiancΓ© (not available here in Australia). Series X is very much anticipated, managed to secure a non-preorder purchase early this morning, and waiting for delivery through the week.

Re: Customer Reportedly Receives Xbox One X Instead Of Xbox Series X

JGRockford

All Access through Telstra AU...

Telstra is f'n garbage, and this customer service doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

While there "could" be confusion with the naming to some people, Telstra should be able to deal with this considering their business in mobile phones.

Note: As an Australian, I reserve the right for a customer's viewpoint on Telstra πŸ˜‰

To make it even more laughable, All Access is only available in Australia through Telstra, and is limited to existing customers that are on an existing plan (ie: already paying for a phone/internet plan)...

Re: Xbox Series X|S Horror The Medium Refused Classification In Australia

JGRockford

@K1LLEGAL
Thanks. Still looking into it as Sky Force is heavily played in this household πŸ€—

Update:
I've been able to purchase a US gift card from a third party site, and purchase games not available in Australia (Sky Force and the Hotline Miami collection).

Be sure not to redeem in the regular page, but in the process of adding to your wallet on the game page (after you click "buy").

Hoping this helps with other games not available on Australia.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Horror The Medium Refused Classification In Australia

JGRockford

Being from Australia, I'm thinking the part that has issue with the ratings board is something that ends up being trivial.

It's a bit silly over here.

On regions: I've been building up my XBox library for XSX after playing Sony for the past couple of generations, and have been purchasing cheap UK and US codes, then activating via website through VPN.

Though i ran into issues trying to activate Sky Force, which is for some ridiculous reason, not available on the Australian store. So redeeming this way causes issues.

In thinking of changing region through website, though still need to change payment method to be from a US source, as it also checks CC/PayPal region for purchases.

This would be the very same scenario for Medium if it wasn't available in Australia.

Saying that, I'm hopeful the developers can come to a solution.
