One of the most notable changes to Xbox's controller this generation is the addition of a 'share' button right in the middle of it. With this, you can instantly upload pictures and video clips to your Xbox profile and social media pages.
For some users, though, it seems to be a source of frustration. The good news is the Xbox team is working on improving this function. In response to a fan on Twitter, Microsoft's Jason Ronald - Director of Project Management on Xbox Series X - said the team had heard the feedback and was working on multiple improvements to enhance this experience.
While there's nothing to share right now, it's "a priority for the team". Below is the full exchange:
How has your own experience been with the capture and share function on Xbox Series X|S? Tell us down below.

To be honest, I've used it more in the last couple months on XSX, than I had through the generation on PS4.
It's neat, but not at all vital to my enjoyment. Though if they have plans to improve, that's great 🤗
I want an integrated way to start a twitch stream!
The only person who cares what game I am playing is me. I have taken a couple of screenshots of glitches in the past but that is just so I can look back and chuckle. More titles working with quick resume should be a bigger priority in my opinion. Less time waiting for games to load rather than more time watching others play.
I've become a compulsive capturer on switch with tens of thousands of useless screenshots.
Somehow on ps4 and 5 I have only a few total. Few on zb though I've been accidentally hitting the button when reaching for the map at times.... And then it fails to upload to xbl. I've intentionally taken a few in fenyx though. Not sure why i compulsively use switch share for screens and not xb or ps.
I still use the old method with guide then X lol.
My Share button used to capture screen grabs with a single push and 15 sec video with a button hold.
With no input from me at all, now something has changed and both the single push and button hold produces a 15 sec video. No more screen grabs with my Share button.
@orionreplay maybe just go in the settings and check they haven’t changed?
I'd personally prefer them to get rid of this functionality and use the saved disk space for games instead. But thats me. Wouldn't know my twitch from my shakes.
@Jacko11
Thanks for the input. I will check when I get home. I've never messed with it myself, but maybe an update flipped a switch that wasn't flipped before.
@orionreplay yeah I only say because I do use the share button quite often and a number of times i’ve done ‘press to screenshot’ but its video captured instead and vice versa.
So I have double checked and dabbled in the settings myself on a few occasions to make sure
