@Llamageddon It is my favourite response because it’s just so self fulfilling and illogical. If people don’t buy the game due to some petty boycott it literally tells the publisher that they were correct and it was not worth the cost or effort porting to the console.

@Gabrie Yeh this is not that. The games been getting rave reviews, someone asked about an Xbox version in the discord and the devs responded saying it’s not on the cards atm. A bunch of Xbox fans who probably wouldn’t have bought the game anyway kicked off so the developers put out an official statement addressing it. They are a tiny team and the fact that you haven’t heard of the game is a testament to how little they have been making a song and dance or drawing attention to themselves….people asked a question, they answered with some pretty generic statements and it has, for some reason become news. Literally no one would care if it scored 1.0 point lower on Metacritic.

@Kilamanjaro Haha I watched this video and I can’t believe more people aren’t pointing this out. The segment went out on one of the most watched morning tv shows in America clearly aimed at parents who would get the impression this will be a great Christmas buy for their kids with Xbox’s. They mentioned being able to play your entire gaming library 3 times but didn’t once caveat Play Anywhere or the difference between console and PC. Hats of to Microsoft, they have turned a reskin of an existing 3rd party product into international news whilst taking way more credit than they deserve but this marketing is misleading at best and false advertising at worst.

I take all rumours with a massive pinch of salt but the same can be said for any PR statements Xbox put out as well. They have pivoted, backtracked and outright lied too many times this generation for me to take anything they say seriously. I judge them solely based on their actions and those actions have not been pretty since the ABK acquisition.

It’s rare I will even complete a game once with my attention span let alone replay them but I used to do it alot as a kid when time wasn’t an issue and there wasn’t sooo much game choice. In my adult life it’s only really been From Software games on NG+ I’ve had any interest in replaying. Looter games like Diablo, Destiny and Borderlands sometimes get a replay with a new build as well I guess.

It looks really good. Those are some demanding games and it is knocking out a high consistent frame rate. Hopefully the dude can use his Ally to get better at Forza because those were some brutal crashes.

It’s been an awesome year. GOTY for me would be KCD2 with Expedition 33 a very close second.

@Balaam_ My first thought was “how much did Microsoft pay Time for this?” I could understand the original ROG Ally appearing on 2023’s list but this isn’t an invention it’s an iteration.

It’s £159 on curry’s and I was talking about the Elite Series 3 if and when it comes out….chances of the RRP being less than the 2 is slim.

I really like my Elite Series 2 and it’s serving me well on Xbox and PC with no issues so it would have to be a pretty significant upgrade to make me consider it. I can’t see what they can possibly add which would make me fork out another £150+ but I’m open to being pleasantly surprised.

Surprising considering the history between MS and Lionhead but I suppose he is commenting on his time working directly with Phil Spencer rather than for him.

I would rather pay for something like GeForce Now and know I’m going to get quality than stream for free via xCloud knowing it’s going to be terrible AND I need to sit through adverts. Either way streaming isn’t for me and I really don’t want this cloud based future we seem to be heading towards.

Played it on PS5 when it released. I never completed it but I enjoyed what I played.

@Jenkinss I’ve only very recently got into FTL having had it sat dormant in my steam library for a year. That game is addictive as hell although I cannot beat it to save my life. I might have to get this but doubt I will convince my mates and I don’t want to play with randos

@BAMozzy Fair mate. Different devices for different needs. I would wholeheartedly recommend dipping your toes into steam a bit more though. I’d only dabbled with Steam before I got the deck in 2024 and it’s half the reason I have gone full PC in 2025. Ridiculously good prices, workshop is awesome, super consumer friendly, great community features, it has more support from CDkeys, humble and fanatical than anything else and it has the most choice in games by a country mile. I wouldn’t have called myself a PS, Xbox or Nintendo fanboy but I will proudly hold my hands up and say I’m a Steam fanboy. They treat their customers right although GoG is also awesome.

@BAMozzy I’m not majorly interested in Cod or battlefield and even less interested in playing them on a handheld…they certainly wouldn’t be the make or break in my decision to by a device. My Steamdeck is predominantly an Indie machine but it does surprisingly well with games like Ass Creed shadows, KCD2 and BG3. Also I love the track pads which are great for anything more traditionally PC which is why if I opted for more power my first choice would be a legion go. Genuinely hope you enjoy your new ally though, it looks cool and if I had way more disposable income I would probably get it.

@BAMozzy I think “better” is subjective but if power is what your after yep you may as well keep your pre order. Steam is my go to on PC. Only thing that would interest me in the Xbox ally is the ergonomics and I don’t fancy paying a massive surplus for that. I have about 4 digital games in my Xbox library and none of them are play anywhere. Every single AAA game I have bought this year I have checked to see if it is play anywhere before buying so I could use Xbox and PC but they aren’t so I’ve bought them on Steam where every game is play anywhere. I have no intention of continuing subbing to GPU so with a library of over 100 games, most of which I can play on the deck it suits my needs perfectly.

@BAMozzy I’ve always said I will admit when I’m wrong and apologise. I actually properly read what you wrote and it wasn’t blinkered obsession so im sorry for saying that. Genuine question though, has this made you rethink the Ally X preorder or at least made you consider starting to use Steam? I don’t see the point of spending £800 on a marginal upgrade when you only buy into the Xbox ecosystem which is now getting more expensive.

It’s only taken several console and sub price hikes, tens of thousands of layoffs and several FTC lies but you seem to finally be seeing Microsoft for who they actually are….a scummy company who could not give a %^#* about their user base, only profits.

Nah I’m good. Sub lapses mid November and I think I have enough reward points to sub another month to play COD through to Xmas which is usually when I start to get bored of it anyway. After that I’m done with the brand. The small amount of first party games I can’t live without like Forza Horizon 6 I can buy on Steam or PS5.

If only I could play all the Xbox games I own natively without needing to rebuy them. That would be cool for an Xbox device.

@Stocksy 👏👏👏 The dude would buy a bag full of dog turd if it had an Xbox logo on it and Phil Spencer told him it was good. I’ve had the argument with him before about how the Steamdeck is a PC handheld but he won’t listen because his narrow minded view is that it can’t be a PC if it doesn’t have windows pre installed. As much as I loved you putting him in his place I would save your energy in future. No matter how much facts, logic and sources you present he will just keep spouting the same fanboy nonsense over and over and over and over.

Nope not interested. If I was going to spend close to a grand on a handheld (which I’m not) I would get a Legion Go.

I’m loving Endless Legend 2 on PC Gamepass. After the negative reception to Civ 7 I decided to wait for a deep sale so Endless Legend is really scratching that itch. If this is early access I can’t wait to see how good 1.0 is!

I’d like to see at least one large city and a bit less cheesiness in the dialogue. Aside from that Forza Horizon 5 was a 10/10 for me so more of the same in Japan would be a winner.

@cburg Let me know how you get on using the Xbox Ally as a Phone, sat nav, camera, streaming device, hot spot, instant messenger, emailer, music player, alarm clock, credit card, web browser, video caller, language translator, flashlight, fitness tracker, calendar and e reader.

Edit: oh and not everyone has an £800+ smart phone. There are thousands of options which will do all of this for less than £200

@BAMozzy again didn’t read much of that. It really all falls down to how you read the paragraph I quoted. To me it’s pretty clearly total hours spent on platform per month not per game. You’re reading it as time spent per game. Either way there’s certainly no need to send me another dissertation as much as I love not reading them.

I've played loads of Hades 2 in early access on Steam and it is fantastic. I put it down a while ago to wait for 1.0 so looking forward to picking it up again this week.

@BAMozzy ok but to your final paragraph the report is literally saying they ARENT spending the same amount of time. Gamers are spending more time on Steam and PS just playing less unique games.

@BAMozzy Just to let you know because it’s not abundantly clear here but in the ampere report the time metric isn’t talking about splits per game it’s talking about splits per platform. The 7.7, 11.9 and 12.7 hours are total spent playing games on each platform not total spent per game per platform.

@Coletrain same here mate. I have a Steamdeck and I docked it quite a lot before I got a PC and it wasn’t great looking on a monitor. It’s a shame it’s not Play Anywhere so you could have the best of both worlds but tbh I’m going to completely backpeddle my previous advice and recommend getting it on Xbox. Controller is a bit clunkier than M&K but still very playable and you will probably enjoy it more with good graphics on the bigger screen!

@Coletrain I played my first playthrough on PS5 and currently in my second on PC. Overall the PC experience is better so if you can dock your Ally and play with a keyboard and mouse I would recommend that but performance would almost certainly be better on an XSX. However you play it though you’re in for an amazing time.
