Listen, it's no secret what we'll be getting with the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 this Sunday - lots and lots of reveals, both for first-party and third-party games, along with the special Gears of War: E-Day Direct at the end.
It's still always interesting to see how Xbox is teasing it though, and for this year's version in particular, they seem to be making a point of highlighting that it's a "true celebration" - a chance to mark the 25th anniversary of Xbox in style.
Here's what Xbox Wire is saying about the show today:
"This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share."
We've already predicted that the celebratory aspects of the Xbox Games Showcase could include new backwards compatibility titles, a release date for the Halo 1 remake (Campaign Evolved), and perhaps even bringing back some kind of original Xbox IP that fans will remember from the old days.
In any case, it's definitely worth tuning into! Today's new information also reveals that we won't be getting any kind of post-showcase event this year, but the Official Xbox Podcast will be diving deeper into specific games from the event during the week of June 9th. We'll obviously keep an eye on that and let you know if anything big is revealed.
Join us on Sunday for the big show, and let's hope for another amazing Xbox Games Showcase to mark the 25th anniversary!
