We're getting a new start-up animation for the first time in six years!
Xbox boss Asha Sharma has announced today that the following boot-up sequence will be coming to Xbox next Wednesday (which presumably means Series X, Series S and Xbox One), and it even includes a new sound design.
Here's a look:
As you can see, this incorporates the new Xbox logo that was unveiled last month, so they're clearly making this the default design going forward — it's mainly just a recolour, but it's still a notable difference compared to the old logo.
Could Sharma and her team have just waited until the Project Helix generation to give us something new? Maybe... but we're not going to complain about a refresh, especially as the old animation has felt a little stale in recent years.
