Re: Xbox & PlayStation Stuck In 'Complicated' Call Of Duty Situation, Says Geoff Keighley

Gamer83

This is hilarious. Once the deal closes, MS owns the Call of Duty IP and has the right to do with it whatever it wants. Not complicated at all unless you're a delusional fanboy who can't get over pieces of plastic and are obsessed with 'console wars.' The crying is pathetic at this point. MS has offered Sony a fair deal of 3 more entries in the series, if Jim Ryan thinks that is unsatisfactory, well, bring something to the bargaining table... 'You give keep Call of Duty on our consoles, we'll put the Insomniac Spider-Man games on Xbox.' Or, 'fine, we'll put Game Pass on PlayStation.' Those are some options, otherwise, take the 3 more games, more than MS is obligated to offer, and shut up.

Re: PlayStation Boss Heavily Criticises Xbox For 'Inadquate' Call Of Duty Offer

This is why I buy multiple consoles. I know some don't like exclusives but I'm on the opposite side, I think it makes for better competition, although I don't love seeing giant publishers like Bethesda and Activision get bought up. It is what it is at this point. I know not everybody is fortunate enough to be in a position to buy multiple consoles, but this is also why I say it's best, if you don't have the money, to wait a year or two into a new generation and see who is bringing the most games you want.

Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying Immortality On Xbox Game Pass So Far?

Gamer83

It's interesting for sure. Unlocked a bunch of achievements eventhough I don't really know what I'm doing. Inspecting the scenes is pretty cool. Can't really say anything without spoiling stuff. Think it's one of those games you just need to give it a try. It'll click with some, won't with others but I like it and I'm not usually somebody who gets hooked by this style of 'game.'

Re: Poll: Are You Planning On Picking Up Saints Row?

Gamer83

Hell no, as bad as 3 and 4 were compared to SR 1 and 2, this seems even worse and further removed from what the series used to be. I've seen plenty of gameplay videos and it's an easy miss especially with far better games dropping over the next few months. It's a shame how things went because I really did love the first 2 SR games then it was all downhill.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 20-21)

Gamer83

On the Xbox side, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge and one of my favorite 360 games, Tomb Raider: Legend, through backwards compatibility on the Series X.

On Switch I'm still slowly making my way through Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I get caught up doing the side quests and don't progress the main story as quickly as other people.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Saints Row Game To Date?

Gamer83

2, easily. It did everything the first did right, built on it and managed to differentiate the series enough from GTA. The first game I like a lot also but the second was just better all-around, gameplay and story. Didn't care much for 3 or 4, not bad games, not great. No interest at all in what I've seen of the reboot. Would've preferred a Saints Row 5 with the old gang that returns to something similar to 2.

Re: Xbox 'Encouraged' Console Wars During The 360 Era, Says Former Exec

Gamer83

The 360/PS3/Wii era was the last time I think I truly loved gaming. Not to say there aren't a lot of games today I still really enjoy but things just seem so watered down now and boring as far as the mainstream AAA games. Just corporate cash grabs and you can tell. Not that they weren't before but it's definitely more obvious these days.

Re: Former Xbox Boss Talks Building The 'Innovative' Xbox 360 Console

Gamer83

My standout memory of Xbox 360 was the day I bought the console. It was about 2 weeks after launch, I was home from college for Thanksgiving break, got back to the house, set everything up and dove right into some PGR 3 and it was an awesome experience. Fantastic graphics, even on the older non-hd tv I had, and eventhough multiplayer was the draw for many, I had lots of fun with the single player.
Another standout memory was the launch of my favorite game from that era, Halo 3. That series showing up on the then current-gen was a huge deal, and it was the first time I went to a midnight launch for anything game related.

Re: GTA 6 Reportedly Features Female Protagonist For The First Time

Gamer83

@YouTrash
Pretty much spot on. Intersted to see how this turns out, though I can't say it'll be a day one buy. GTA IV disappointed me, V had a good campaign but I didn't love a lot of the other stuff Rockstar did with the game and the remastered trilogy last fall was botched to the highest degree, just completely unacceptable.

Re: Resident Evil Village Is Getting A Third-Person Mode This October

Gamer83

I was concerned about the change to first person when it happened for RE 7 but I ended up liking it, however, third person is definitely where the series belongs. Happy to see this added to Village, would be cool if Capcom could patch it into 7 at some point as well but understand if it doesn't happen as that game is a bit older now.

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Resident Evil Game On Xbox?

Gamer83

A year ago I would've said Resident Evil 2 remake, but the further we get away from it the more I realize I was a 'prisoner of the moment' in 2019-2021, overlooking its flaws because I wanted to love what was a modern update of my favorite game of all-time. It's not the worst remake ever, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 1998 release and in terms of how to update a game can't touch what Resident Evil 1 remake was in 2002. At least it was better than the dreadful RE 3 remake but that's about the nicest compliment I can give it and that's not really impressive to be better than one of the worst remakes in history.

Now that I've taken a few steps back and am viewing things these days without nostalgia-tinted glasses, I'd have to go with 8 as my favorite followed very closely by 7 and the Code Veronica (still despise tank controls, however, even back in 1996 I hated that set up).

Re: Gears Of War Designer Talks The Struggles Of Launching On Xbox 360

Gamer83

Gears of War 1 is easily among my favorite games of all-time and the series itself is by far my favorite in the third person shooter genre. I had played a lot of great 360 games by the time Gears 1 hit the market but that was the first one that truly felt like it delivered on what the console promised.

Re: Former Xbox Exec Questions Microsoft's Ability To Sell Xbox In Japan

Gamer83

It's important to have a presence there to get more Japanese games than just something like Resident Evil. Would From Soft be making games for Xbox if it wasn't available in Japan? I'm not so sure. I'd also say, however, a company with less disposable income, it's probably not worth it to try. MS has the money to have a presence in Japan so it's better to be there than not.

Re: Rumour: Tennis Fans, 2K Might Be Making A New Top Spin Game

Gamer83

I wasn't the biggest fan of the Top Spin games after 2 but I'd still look into a new one just because it'd be a game with a higher budget and production values and would at least be competent. The other recent tennis games are all on small budgets and it's noticeable.

The one I want to see the most actually is Grand Slam 3. I still play 2 to this day and would love to see that dev team return for another round.

Re: It's Been A Rough Old Week For Microsoft Rewards On Xbox

Gamer83

Something definitely needs to be fixed with the app. Hell, I can't even open it from my home page on my Series X, it's just blank and I get a message that says 'We can't get this content right now. Sorry about that. Try again in a while.' Been that way for a week or so. I can still open the app from my games and apps but hopefully things will be sorted out so I can open from the home page again soon.

I do like how the rewards app is used, much better than on PlayStation, it's easy to rack up the points and get $10 cards so I appreciate that.
