Wasn't sure if I was going to play it at first (not a big fan of the Fallout or Elder Scrolls series) but since I have Game Pass figured, why not? Awesome game, Bethesda's best, imo. Went out and bought the Premium Edition upgrade that has a nice steelbook case. I'll buy a disc copy of the game around the holidays when there's some sales.

No More Heroes is one of my favorite character-action series on Nintendo platforms and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die was one of the first games I bought when I got the Xbox One back in August 2014, and I ended up being a big fan of it. This game is easily one of the most intriguing ones for me now, hope it can live up to what these two guys have created in the past.

This would be horrendous. The last thing this industry needs in Microsoft, Sony or other giant corporation owning Nintendo.

Just Starfield. First Bethesda RPG that has really hooked me, love all that it offers and I haven't even really scratched the surface of the main story because I'm going around completing sidequests and when I nearly done with one, another pops up.

Starfield (using Game Pass to play it for now but will buy a physical copy sometime near the end of this year) kicked things off and soon Forza and Sonic Superstars will be joining it. Also have multiple games I'm getting for Switch and PS5. October is going to be an insane month overall.

Some would say MS is being smart about this. I would say, if MS plans to continue making consoles, it's being too generous. If you put a piece of hardware on the market, the goal should be to sell it, best way to do that is with some exclusives.

Just a couple weeks ago I was complimenting this program. Since, it's been all downhill. It's like these companies are run by idiots. They see praise then think... 'Oh people like this? Cool. How can we f*** it up?'

Of course they have to pick the most busy month of this year in terms of new releases.

Happens to almost every game and when websites like this one, PushSquare and NintendoLife (among others, it's not just these three), report on it, it only gives the attention seekers more incentive to review bomb in the future.

Downloaded it last night, haven't had a chance yet to play it but looking forward to doing so soon.

Downloaded Starfield on Game Pass. I'm not the biggest fan of Elder Scrolls or Fallout but figure if I have GP, might as well give this one a try and see if it clicks.

Nothing I'm interested it, at all. And I'm thankful for that because October is going to be crazy. Forza, Alone in the Dark and Sonic Superstars for Xbox, Assassin's Creed and Spider-Man 2 for PS5, Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Switch. Using this month to complete some games before all those hit.

I don't think Gears of War needs to have levels that are more open than what's in 5, and even that I thought was pushing it a little bit. However, as others have stated, it's all about execution. If Gears 6 is a full open world game, all I ask is that it's fun to explore and not bogged down by stuff that has plagued other open world games, particularly some from Ubisoft.

Couldn't agree more. My initial reaction was great that MS wants to do more in Japan but a hire from Sony? That seems like a giant L. If Spencer really wanted to make a hire who could help strengthen the brand in Japan, poach from Nintendo.

The original Xbox had a bunch of games I was interested in (Dead or Alive 3, Halo 1, Project Gotham Racing, Splinter Cell among them) but I didn't buy the console until 2004 after its price drop to $180 and the release of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. That was the game that made me decide I needed the console for sure. Xbox 360 I bought just two weeks after its launch because there were a lot of day one games I liked and a ton of future releases I knew I'd want. Xbox One and Series X were purchased because I'd become a fan of the brand from the earlier gens.

I never rule out ridiculous marketing stunts, definitely possible. If that's the case though, capitalize right away and get these games out again asap.

It's not like the 360/PS3 era was in the 1980s or 90s, if the files were lost it would be incompetence to the highest degree. Hopefully the files are still there and MS brings the games back. The Cybertron games, especially, are too good to be lost to time.

Street Fighter 6 and, inspired by a fairly recent article on this website, going through the entire Gears of War series. Finished GoW 1 (the remastered ultimate edition), now playing 2.

Bring back the blades.

Yeah, Gears of War is my favorite Xbox IP, I've been missing it for a couple years now. I'd even take something close to the Halo Master Chief Collection treatment for 1-5 just to hold us over until 6.

It wasn't a great showcase unless you're looking forward to Starfield. I'm not, so was pretty disappointed, especially since there was zero Gears of War news. I was hoping for at least that rumored collection.

On Xbox, still Street Fighter 6, AEW: Fight Forever and gotten back into Super Street Fighter IV, just recently bought the DLC to upgrade it to Ultra.

Some of the hosts for the various podcasts at IGN, and the co-hosts on Unlocked, are annoying but going all the way back to the days when there was an OXM here in the U.S. and Ryan McCaffrey had a podcast for it, I've always appreciated his knowledge of Xbox and the fact he's an actual fan not somebody forced to do a podcast for Xbox just because the company feels like there has to be one.

I'll be interested what happens with the Podcast now, too. Admittedly I stopped listening to it consistently around 2014 or 15 but I'd still try to catch an episode once in a while. There's still Podcast Unlocked, which I prefer anyway, but it's good to have an official one for the brand as well. All the best to Major Nelson and hopefully the person who takes over for him can keep a fairly consistent schedule.

Yup. And tbh, considering I'm not pleased with a lot of what's going on in the games industry these days, particularly the 'AAA' portion of the market, I find it increasingly difficult to get too worked up over this stuff anymore. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen and the 40+ year olds arguing like elementary school children on the playground is embarrassing.

I'd laugh if these idiots weren't wasting more time and tax payer money over what at the end of the day are just freaking video games.

Yup, and Sony has to respond now. There will be those who say 'consolidation happens, it isn't a big deal.' I vehemently disagree. We'll see where things go. Hopefully it's concern over nothing...

I don't like where this could lead but then again, I haven't liked a lot about the modern game industry anyway. It is what it is, just happen this deal can finally go through and maybe some good can come out of it. Xbox Game Studios now owns the perfect non-Nintendo development team to bring back Banjo-Kazooie.

Sounds like some of the coolest Halo content in a long, long time. Too bad it isn't going to be console but I'll be interested to see what PC gamers think of it.

Don't watch much wrestling these days but when I do it's AEW so I figured I'd give this a chance, first wrestling game I've bought since the 360 days. I've played a few matches and the gameplay seems very enjoyable.

Forza Horizon 1 was a game I wasn't sure about but ended up as one of my top 15 favorite Xbox 360 games (no small feat considering the 360's stellar library). FH 2 was one of the games I bought an Xbox One for and didn't regret it. Still one of my favorite racing games of all-time and favorite in the entire Forza series.

Same as last week, and what will be in my rotation I imagine for a long time to come... Street Fighter 6 on both Xbox Series X and PS5. If I decide to play something else it will probably be Resident Evil 4 remake, I still haven't finished that.

Way of the Water is a great movie, didn't care for the first one but I've always found this IP interesting. Looking forward to learning more about the game, it's been one on my list since I knew about it.

$, it's that simple to fix the SE relationship. MS has the money, use it. And on the chance it doesn't get more SE games to Xbox, it'll at least raise the price Sony has to pay hopefully making it think twice before doing certain deals.

Not unexpected but it's just another reason why I get annoyed with how little memory space these companies offer on their consoles (there's plenty of PS5 games with large file sizes as well) out of the box. If there was a way to get an affordable 4TB storage expansion card for the XSX, it'd be a non-issue.

C. Passable and definitely better than the recent PS5 Showcase but not the homerun Xbox needed.

Street Fighter 6. I have it on both Xbox Series X and PS5 but have found myself enjoying it a bit more on Xbox as right now I'm playing with the standard controllers and the XSX one has a superior D-pad making it easier to pull off special moves and and super arts.

I thought Summer Game Fest was pretty good but the PlayStation showcase was terrible, no argument there. I'm going into the Xbox showcase with zero expectations. The opportunity is there to gain some momentum but too many times in the past the people running Xbox have dropped the ball. Hopefully it's different this time because as I stated in the comment section of an article week or two back, that PS showcase was a prime example of a complacent company that needs to be challenged like it was in the 7th gen.

I like Sonic Frontiers a lot but 2D is where the Sonic games thrived in the past, looking forward to playing this one.

Got Street Fighter 6, not a fan of Diablo or similar games but it's good to see it's been well received by people who do like that genre. Been a slew of great releases here recently across all platforms.
