Last night, the folks at Windows Central broke some news when they shared a survey that is apparently being sent out to Xbox Insiders, questioning how fans would feel in terms of various exclusivity scenarios.

For example, the most bold question asks the reader to imagine that "all future title releases from every XBOX-developed gaming franchise except Call of Duty will be console-exclusive to XBOX", and that Minecraft would no longer be purchasable (but still accessible for existing owners) on PlayStation and Nintendo as well.

Another part of the survey mentions Fallout instead, telling the reader to imagine that all future Fallout games are console exclusives on Xbox, but that existing titles in the franchise would remain "available where they are today".

Here's a look at screenshots for both of these via the website:

These are apparently far from the only games that show up in the survey with this questioning:

"Microsoft asks if users would switch to Xbox on a per game basis, including pitches of exclusivity for games like Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Hideo Kojima's PHYSINT, Diablo, and even Minecraft itself."

Now, we do want to urge some caution here - surveys like this are sent out all the time to Xbox Insiders, and it's not uncommon for them to feature all kinds of hypothetical scenarios that never actually come to fruition.

In other words, Xbox isn't setting out a definitive statement by asking these questions, and there's no guarantee whatsoever that the likes of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls and other franchises will suddenly become console exclusives. In particular, the "final" question about "all future title releases" becoming exclusive to Xbox feels like the most hypothetical of all, and has probably just been tagged onto the end of a survey that's primarily focused on individual IP.

As Windows Central mentions though, it does at least indicate that they're interested in getting feedback on this idea, so it's something that's being considered at the very least. Will it ever happen though? We'll have to wait and see.
