Final Fantasy Tactics for me!

I'll be on assassin's creed unity feels great to play an old school creed game after so many years!
I'll also play some wheel of fortune and Helldivers 2 and maybe some cod beta!

What do you know? That's two of us for AC Unity. Pulled a PS4 physical copy off the backlog pile - going cold turkey on GamePass. Throw in Hades 2 and that's the weekend.

I'm enjoying my time with unity so far definitely doesn't play or look like such an old game!
And the 60fps update it great!

Only Cod I am interested in is beer battered with salt & vinegar plus chips 👍

Mostly done with Borderlands 4 as I have got all current character through the campaign. There were some frustrations along the way (Amon mainly as I didn't really gel with that character) but overall its been a fun experience. I still have to get them all to the current level cap of 50 but that isn't a focus for me but something I will pick away at over the next few weeks / months.

Will probably dig into Dying Light: The Beast but also Atomfall released a new dlc so I might take a look at that too. I still have to finish my Stalker 2 modded play through as well.

Looks like I will be in some sort of apocalypse one way or another.

Started Dragons Dogma 2, so mostly that, some Helldivers 2, and as it's October, The Chant, which I nabbed in the sale. Have a good weekend!

Started AC Shadows on PC in the week, but will be starting from scratch again this weekend, as I realized I was playing it all wrong.

Mrs Isca promises me that if I stop shouting at my monitor every time Naoe dies:

• I can cook dinner (Free, but with ads on the kitchen radio)
• She will cook dinner (Essential, but never fun for anybody)
• We can order pizza delivery (Premium)
• She will never cook dinner again (Ultimate)

Shadows is a beautiful game. Obvious similarities, but in some ways quite different from the last few main AC titles. It is taking a bit of time to get used to the different mechanics and controls. Assassinating the bad guys is a real pain, (but I'm desperately trying to learn it, and not to turn on 'Guaranteed Assassinations', which I know I can, but think is a bit of a cheat).

Replayed Shadow Complex. One of the first metroidvania revival games from the Xbox arcade days. Has a fantastic sense of progression from normal dude to super soldier. And a cool flashlight mechanic that shows what items are needed for each obstacle. A hassle to 100% however.

Trying to get into AC Odyssey again. I loved AC Origins so I keep thinking it’ll click. Everything feels slightly worse in Odyssey - spongey combat, goofy tone, unfocused plot, stealth/bow is less viable, much more ludonarrative dissonance. But I haven’t given up yet.

I’ve been eyeing Unity for years so now that I have access via the subscription nobody wants to talk about anymore might check it out.

Played some Jump Space with friends last night - it’s great! Working through Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered right now. I played through the first/original game recently and love the series.

What I´ve been playing

Gears of War Reloaded – Me and the son only managed to play for 30 min this past week so still on act 5. I´m hoping that we can get some playtime later tonight and maybe finish it off 🙂

Sonic Racing Crossworlds - The whole family played some 4 player split screen, its a lot of fun. Pretty solid game

The Midnight Walk - Finished and platinumed. Really enjoyed this one, Good story with some great art design and soundtrack and playing it in VR made quite a big difference in immersion and being chased by monsters was pretty intense at times 🙂

Ghost of Yotei - rare day 1 for me but loved Tsushima so got this preordered after reading some positive reviews. A couple of hours in and this is pretty much exactly what I hoped for. It looks amazing and plays great, really polished from my experience, and a story of revenge is very fitting for the setting. This is going to be awesome 🙂

I shall be finishing off Deadzone Rogue this weekend before then commencing play on Ghost of Yotei next week. Really loving Deadzone, and cannot wait to jump into Ghost. It'll be epic...!

Oh, was looking forward to Keeper, but I'm 2 weeks early lol!
So, Astrobot, and if I can face it, going back to the last few days of Act 2 in The Alters (I find it tough, especially as the play area map got much bigger!)

@Feffster had this for a year and still haven't played it! It's on the list, guessing want to use GPU as much as possible until it expires next year, then start it, then get the follow-up

Assassin's Creed Shadows and The Fractured but Whole.

Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear on my PS5 Pro.

I play new games on Game Pass, still best value in gaming for me despite the disproportionate drama, but I also love old games. If I only played old games I wouldn't subscribe to Game Pass. That said and like others here, this weekend is for a classic: Final Fantasy XIII Lighting Returns. I played the other two a few years ago. I hated this third entry at first, but once I got the hang of it, I started loving it. The world is wonderful to explore, looks awesome (on Series X) and the side quests are interesting and not overwhelming. It also adds more to the story of XIII which I consider great.

Before that, I started Crash Bandicoot 4, but no doubt it's made by a different developer because I liked the trilogy of remakes quite more. 4 is good, but it's too hard if you want to do 100% and also every minute seems over-the-top, so I took a break. Perhaps, it's because the levels are too long and don't seem cohesive but just challenging. I will go back to it when I have more patience. The problem is that what I've played so far hasn't motivated me.

Nothing on Game Pass that's for sure. I'll be finishing up the achievements in Achilles Survivor and moving onto finishing Star Wars Outlaws from the backlog, possibly starting Hell Is Us.

Gave up on Silksong after getting too frustrated. So I started up Super Mario Galaxy 2 and im also playing Dark Deity 2

I caved and bought Ghost of Yōtei, I’m absolutely loving it, so far. While it’s “more Ghost of Tsushima,” I feel like it’s a step forward in every way, from what I’ve played.

Dragon Age Veilguard, FM, Wheel World and I'll be starting PoP the Lost Crown.

BO7 beta, it plays great. Very fast but I manage.

This weekend I'm going to continue playing Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle aswell as slowly continue my journey through Hollow Knight: Silksong.
On top of those two, I will also finally start the full version of Digimon Story: Time Stranger on Series X aswell as meet up with my group of friends for our weekly Smash Bros. Ultimate hangout.

So after beatiung Gears one a few times back almost 20 years ago, beat 2 a few weeks back (Good Fun) 3 last week (GREAT GAME!!) and Judgement Yesterday (Good Fun) now onto Gears 4, thought it started slow but has me now 🤣👍

@Tdx Shadow Complex is cassic, got confused early on and went back to the start and , well you know what happens, Great idea for an achievement 🤣👍

My long work trip is over and I’m back home, so have access to the Xbox again. I’ll probably start Borderlands 4 in the next few days if my brother is available to play. Also looking forward to Little Nightmares 3 next week.

Ghost of Yōtei, PS5. Only played a couple of hours, but am so far loving it, and the graphics are gorgeous.
Hades 2, Switch 2. I finally beat Hecate today, thus clearing the first region, Erebus. Now onto Oceanus.
Borderlands 4 Series X. Currently exploring the Carcadia region. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Borderlands games, but inventory management is always a nightmare. You always have more guns/grenades/shields etc than you know what to do with 😂 at least they’ve added some QoL touches in B4, like being able to send stuff to your bank directly from your inventory screen.

@BattleMonkey I didn't know about that ending. Just watched on YouTube - "eh, plenty of fish in the sea" - hilarious.

Started The Ivalice Chronicles and dang, the presentation is fantastic. I have the original, the PSP release, and the better-than-you're-likely-assuming mobile port and I've never seen this game look so slick. The pixel artwork is great but honestly, I keep staring at the textures on buildings and rocks! The devs took so much care to mimic that lo-fi PSX look but it's so clean. It would've been easy to "upgrade" them so much that they no longer blend with the 2D characters or even oddly upstage them, but the artists showed careful restraint and I love it.

The people who make great modern interpretations and remakes of older titles often say that they try to recreate not how the source material played, but how it made you feel when you played it. Similarly, this new version of FF Tactics doesn't look exactly like the original, but rather how I remember the original looking in my rapt, reverent mind. Very cool.

@MrStark Misreading your name as "MrStank," with such a triumphant profile picture, was VERY funny for a brief moment, haha.

I beat RE4 Remake earlier this year and loved it, which was a big relief because the original is one of my most-replayed games. Glad it seems like you're enjoying it too. I've haven't played TWD past season 1, though, even though I really enjoyed it. I gotta get back to that series at some point. And I'd never heard of Cocoon before, so I looked it up and it looks great! And it's by the lead gameplay designer for LIMBO and Inside, along with Inside's audio engineer as composer?! I'm gonna try it for sure.

I just got Date Everything and it’s DLC as it sounded hilarious. Loving Dwarf Survivor … so fun! I have Gamepass until the 27 but got some 3 month passes at Costco for 24 per month

My brother ran out of money this month because of an unexpectedly high bill so no Borderlands 4 for me yet :’(

We’ll still be able to do Little Nightnares 3 next week thanks to the friend pass though!

Vampire Survivors, Brotato, Hades and Deep Rock Survivor.

Also, after the recent nonsense with game pass, I now own all these games.
