Talking Point: Xbox Series X|S Owners, How's Your Storage Looking In 2026?

I have a 2TB HDD for older games and a 2TB expansion card for the newer games. I have nothing on the internal SSD to reduce wear and tear on it and have it only run the OS and apps.

I just had to delete 160gb of data to install Quantum Break (85gb) and its tv show episodes (75gb) 😭
The episodes aren’t streamable anymore sadly.

I have an external HDD for all my One and
360 games and a Seagate for everything else.

Jokes on me though, I really only play Flight Som and Forza Motorsport now

Storage is a nightmare. I have 1tb expansion card for Series X games and a 4Tb external harddrive for Xbox One and 360 games. Everything is full and it's a pain to keep uninstalling or moving series X games especially with multiplayer games you just fancy booting up to play.

The expansion cards are just to expensive. Storage management definitely makes playing Series X a right headache. I definitely miss the era of just sticking a disc in and playing.

No expansion here, just 2 Series Xs.

I have like 50 games installed on my base Series S. Some of them are indie games that don't go over 20GB though.
I think I have like 30GB of free space.

Currently about halfway on my 1TB Series X. I like to keep it about that amount and only have things I am currently playing or enjoy downloaded.

Series x internal storage is usually about 60% full but also has a 2t hdd to transfer a few of the big dogs I go back to often like starfield, call of duty, master chief collection, flight sim, fallout76, etc.

Series s is usually about 40-50% with no extra storage.

I dont have any qualms about deleting games if I am not playing them regularly. It also helps that I have a ton of devices to spread out the games like ps5, handheld pcs and desktops (one of which that has over 30tb of storage and counting).

Bought the 1TB Seagate expansion, but after 4 months it just died for me. Never ever experienced a hard drive failure before.

I have the 1TB Expansion Card, which I bought back in 2021. I also have a 512GB SATA SSD and 4TB HDD connected via USB. Maxed out all the storage currently, because of Game Pass.

I had troubles with storage on my 1 TB Series X. Then, I canceled Game Pass, and now I no longer have storage issues!

Never needed a card on Series S nor PS5. I just delete things. Absolutely 0 need to have masses of games installed at once.

When I was looking into getting an expansion card I saw that the options above 1TB seemed unrealiable, lots of bad reviews and general issues with them. Not sure if anyone's experienced anything like that. I've had no issues with the Seagate 1TB, but I would have preferred more.

My Xbox is mostly full. As someone who buys to own, I have most of my frequently played titles permanently installed. To be fair, there isn’t that much to look forward to in a first party sense, and I do most of my third party gaming on Playstation, so it’s not a big deal to delete something once in a great while to make room.
