Poll: Which Is Your Favourite Xbox 360 Launch Title?

Kameo for me it gave me the most game play and was great fun and a bit different.

Also had COD and PGR 3 as well.

When did gears and Halo release that’s when the xbox360 took off more for me.

I didn’t get my 360 at launch which meant I had some games to catchup on by the time I got one. Out of those it’s between Kameo and Amped for me.

I got mine launch day from Currys UK which is unusual for me as I used to go to Game mainly back in the day.

I remember waking up, driving to Currys about 5 minutes away back then and picking it up.

No brainer for me. PGR3 was an instant hit. PD and Kameo were good fun, but both were short lived compared to pgr3.

@OldGamer999 Im in the US so best buy was my location. Preorders didnt mean a thing near me, so i was up and in line from about 11pm the night before. Wound up as the last person to get one that morning, only to have it RR a week later. (Thankfully msft had a very short turn around and i was console less for all of a week)

Id say good memories, but it was cold and miserable. I learned that day that patience is more important and have never waited in line since.

On topic PGR was easily my favourite game at launch but there were so many great games over this generation. The 360 was the pinnacle of Xbox in my opinion and the executive team wiped the floor with the current execs.

@OldGamer999 My old man memory is vaguely recalling $299 as the pricepoint for the 20GB model. I dont even recall having the no HDD option at launch.

Loved Condemned. Just finished playing it again. COD 2 was great as well.

Most of the my time gaming back then was spent in PGR3. I also remember particularly enjoying CoD2, Quake, and also PGA. My time back then was limited, and so I did gravitate towards games that I could play in shorter bursts. However, although I bought Condemned and Kameo, I never actually played them, and both games remain sealed to this day.

The 360 was the start of my terrible habit of buying games that I then never went on to play. Indeed, the start of the 360 era saw me buying pretty much every game that was made for it, and I kept that up until there were simply too many games available, and I realised that I was not playing a lot of them. Even to this day though that terrible habit remains, and just this year I have probably only managed to play half the games that I have bought. I'm getting better, but most people would be horrified it they saw what I bought, but only added to my library without playing them...

I always loved Kameo. I remember being blown away by its visuals when i played the demo at Gamestation (RIP).

I went to Game to collect my Xbox 360 console, @OldGamer999, only to find that some error had occurred and my console order had been cancelled, although all the games I had ordered were still available on the order. Go figure! Anyway, I ended up leaving the store clutching a bunch of games that I had pre-ordered, but with no console to play them on because they had sold out literally everywhere.

What then transpired was a desperate hunt in all the shops, only to find no stock available anywhere, meaning I had to resort to eBay. Luckily for me, I still managed to get a console day one because I found some students in Plymouth, which is where I live, who were out to make a quick profit, and who were selling the console for £450. So, I quickly bought the console, and went round their house to pick it up. I seem to recall that I got 2 games with the console too, I think PGR3 and Kameo, both of which I already had picked up from Game, but I was happy to get my hands on the console, even if it did cost me a lot more than I expected...

That’s a coincidence my nephew is on his 4th year at Plymouth university.

Great story by the way.

It's so hard to pick. 360 had an amazing launch with so many great games! Kameo blew my mind with how many trolls it had on screen at once, Condemned was atmospheric and spooky, Perfect Dark was a blast to play online with friends (I loved the Counter Strike-esque Dark Ops mode), PGR3 was absolutely gorgeous, CoD2 was chaotic and the last great entry in the series, Most Wanted is still the best entry in the NFS series and even King Kong was a well designed game and I loved transitioning between the hudless FPS gameplay and the Kong Brawler segments (The first time I played its demo I didn't even know the game had transitioned from cutscene to gameplay. The graphics were impressive for the time, as well.)

If I had to narrow it down I would probably say Condemned because it's the one I revisit most frequently, but it's really not possible to choose one over the others because they all brought so much to the table.

I can't remember which games I got at launch or soon after but I did play Condemned, Gun, Need for Speed, PGR3 and Perfect Dark Zero.

Of these, Condemned probably stands out most in my memory today but I couldn't say it was my favourite as I feel they were just different and would depend on which I happened to be playing at the time.

Call of Duty 2 (PC). By far my most played CoD.

oblivion was delayed but came out pretty soon afterwards that was the game for me.

Still have my copy of Ridge Racer 6, it's still great to go back to and play every now and again

Gun is still my favorite western game. I don't give a sh#t about RDR and both Red Dead Redemption games.
Revolver was pretty cool though.

Ridge Racer 6 and, the following month, Dead or Alive 4. 2 pure Japanese arcade masterpiece 🥰

It was a great line up of games to be fair. I couldn't pick between CoD2 (which blew my mind - how could anything be that intense and cinematic?!) and PGR3. So I was pleasantly surprised to see they were both on 17%.

I voted CoD2 just because it was such a giant leap forward from the previous gen. Kameo, Ridge Racer and Condemned were also great.

And a special mention to King Kong which was such a cool game as well but doesn't seem to be getting much love in the poll!

I would love for some sort of Condemned resurrection.

Perfect Dark Zero got my vote

I didn't get the x360 at launch but the earlier title that I played the most was Oblivion.

Definitely Kameo Elements of Power. This game was like magic and also the best Rare game in their final years.

It still blows my mind that it has been that long since the 360 launched. I bought mine because I found out the follow-up to Jet Set Radio would be coming to this system. But out of all the games at launch, I enjoyed Kameo most out of all those games.

I voted for Call of Duty 2 but it's a toss up between that and Project Gotham 3 loved that game I'd love a remake.

That King Kong game was really something special. I wish I could play it.

DoA 4 is my favorite.

I'm gonna send some love to King Kong. It's an amazing game and I was blown away by it.

Far from it, @themightyant. You don't get rich on a Police Officer's wage, I promise you. I would estimate that I was on somewhere between £30-40k back then, but I didn't drink, didn't smoke, obviously no drugs, and wasn't one to go out that often. Basically I was a bit careful with my money, and I used to save as much as possible, though with 4 kids that was not always that possible. However, I used to treat my wife to pretty much whatever she wanted, and so when the 360 rocked up, it was my turn to be spoilt.

And yes, I know you were kidding, but I just wanted to set the record straight. Even now, I live off my Police pension, which is about £30k a year, but as I still don't drink, smoke, or do drugs, rarely go out, with my kids having grown up, and with my wife having died a few years back, I do treat myself to games on a regular basis... 😉

Condemned: Criminal Origins obviously.
Partially because it still holds up extremely well nowadays.

Amped was such a great game.

Got mine on midnight launch, went through 2 RRoD, then got the Halo 4 Special Edition launch clear case 360 which I still have hooked up to my tv. Along with a multitude of 360 games. I've also got hooked up to the TV the OG Xbox still works and plays just like the first night of 11/15/01.

I never got my first console (an Intellivision) until I was 17, @themightyant, but by then I was working, and I was getting myself fit in readiness for joining the Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal Regiment, and at then went off to the Falklands. Basically, I never got to spend a whole Summer indoors and play video games, but I would dearly have loved too. I was never one for socialising, as such, much preferring my own company, so stuck indoors playing games would have been my idea of Heaven.

Back then my life revolved around listening to endless music and reading. Life without the internet, mobiles, and countless television channels was very different to todays. That said, I am making up for it now big time, as I play games for anything up to 8 hours in a day...! 😂
