Welcome to the first weekend of the year! Hopefully you've had time to play some games over the past few days, and there's still a bit longer to go until the work / school grind kicks back in on January 5th (at least for some people).
Team Xbox has clearly been taking the week off, so we haven't got any new Xbox Game Pass or Free Play Days titles to highlight this weekend. Nevertheless, the Xbox Countdown Sale is continuing for a few more days until Jan 7th.
Here's what we're playing over the next few days:

So, I own the PS2 versions of 007: Everything or Nothing, ESPN NFL 2K5, Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain amongst other things, and I've been ripping them to the ROG Xbox Ally and trying out some emulation. Honestly, I'm kind of addicted to Everything or Nothing right now, and after a bit of tinkering in the settings, I've managed to get it playing flawlessly while also looking excellent on the Ally's screen.
In terms of the Series X, there's a lot of indie stuff I want to check out. PBA Pro Bowling 2026 looks really interesting and I'm keen to give it a go, and I'm also hoping to give Blue Prince a proper chance this time — and by that I mean getting a notepad ready, not rushing anything, and allowing myself to get immersed in its narrative instead of thinking about all the other Game Pass titles I need to try.
Have a great weekend, folks!
