Welcome to another weekend! With the new year's hangover now well and truly in the rear-view mirror, we're fully focused on the year ahead — including tackling those gaming backlogs from last year (and about the last five years).
So, here's what we're playing this weekend to work through them:

After a nice little break over Christmas and New Year — mostly away from screens, to be honest — I'm happy to back and focused on a bit of gaming again. Destiny 2: Renegades is something I missed at the tail end of last year and looks pretty darn fun, while this week's discount on Choo-Choo Charles is already tempting me to add to the backlog in 2026 as well. If I can stomach it, that is.
Having said that, this time of year is often a time I revisit older games too, and the bit of time I did spend gaming over my break was getting stuck back into Far Cry 5. I have issues with the game's structure but the open world is pretty darn fun, so yeah, I might be back hunting down Joseph Seed and co. in the coming days!
Have a nice weekend, folks.

I keep meaning to play Splitgate: Arena Reloaded since its relaunch in December, so hopefully I'll get around to that this weekend. It sounds like the game has really struggled to generate an audience, but the feedback has been good overall. I never got around to playing Blue Prince last week either, so hopefully that's on the cards this weekend.
Away from Xbox, I bought an Evercade Alpha Taito Edition last week! It's my first bartop arcade of any kind, and I'm absolutely adoring it — the screen looks great, the controls feel excellent, and I'm just loving the whole Evercade ecosystem and building my collection of cartridges. That's going to be hogging a lot of my time this month...
Have a great weekend, everyone!
