Re: Rumour: Ubisoft+ Might Finally Be Available On Xbox Soon

Eleventy8

@Jomi1964 the game can lock up for up to 3 seconds with no audio or frame rate.

I thought the game had crashed multiple times, till it springs back to life and audio stutters. I found it unplayable.

If you look up the issues online, it’s seems that people know about it, nothing done though. I’m amazed it’s available on game pass in the state it’s in.

Unless it’s an issue with my Series X, specifically.

@Jomi1964 Last week I went through about five games on game pass that I fancied playing. Was almost invested in Far Cry 5, but the game has some serious audio and graphic stuttering on the Series X.

So I said F it and cancelled the recurring payment.

I’m currently playing Immortals Fenyx Rising on the PS5, which I bought dirt cheap on disc. That we’ll keep me occupied for a month or two.

Yeah… nah. I’m buying back dated games off eBay, really cheap and I can trade them in, or sell them when I’m done. Old skool!

I don’t mind subscription services, but I only pay for them when there might be something(s) I actually want to invest my time into. I don’t blindly pay for services every month because I’ve forgotten them, and then wonder why my mortgage payment bounced!

Re: Pick One: What's The Best Racing Series In Xbox History?

Eleventy8

I’ve got so many great memories of the first Test Drive Unlimited. At that time, it seemed like a totally new experience and concept. So many times I’d just randomly pick up someone’s tail and just follow them, overtaking, then over taking me etc.

I really enjoyed Forza Horizon 4, really connected with that game. Forza Horizon 5 on the other hand, couldn’t stand it! So much confusion on the map, online community ***** that I didn’t care about. I’m not expecting much from the next Horizon game.

Re: FIFA 23 Will Be The Final FIFA Game

@Clankylad greed goes both ways. FIFA been sat there watching the massive amount of profit made by EA gambling mechanics each year, they thought they’d get some.

EA, In typical fashion, are protecting their shareholders and the bottom line.

Re: eFootball's First Patch Will Attempt To Fix Issues Later This October

Eleventy8

I reckon there are a number of developers at Konami sat watching this disaster unfold on social media and screaming, 'I said time and time again it wasn't ready!'

They must have known that the game was in a ***** state, but the smooth brains at the top probably forced them to pull the trigger.

'You can kick the ball, right? It kind of looks like Messi. No more delays, ship it! We'll patch it later!

Re: PES Replacement 'eFootball' Will Be Tailored For PvP Gameplay, Rather Than Player Versus AI

A bit of encouraging news, an official statement from Konami…

It sounds like Konami will sell individual game modes, too. "In the future, certain game modes will be sold as optional DLC, giving players the freedom to build an experience that follows their interests," Konami said.

That I could get behind. If it meant that I could play on my own and have a full edit mode.

Re: PES Replacement 'eFootball' Will Be Tailored For PvP Gameplay, Rather Than Player Versus AI

😔😮‍💨The format was getting stale, no doubt about it, but the PES community is still strong, and the editing scene is a huge factor in brand loyalty.

I don't play online, I see very little positive about people rage-quitting or each team having their own version of Messi and Ronaldo… Just another studio that wants to chase the microtransactions.

I used to enjoy the emersion of Master League and the role-playing stories you could make up. Damaged somewhat in recent years when they removed the manager avatar creation tool.

I could no longer place myself at lowly AC Monza or AC Ajaccio and build them up into a European powerhouse. I had to do it as Maradona or Steven Gerrard!

I do believe that the free to play model is the way forward for sports games. There is no way that any of us should be paying full price every year to access a game that includes very few technical updates. I just wish there was a single player component to that. I might even consider paying to access a single player mode, as long as it received attention and wasn't just something shat out last minute.

I guess the game, formerly known as PES, will now be a place for Twitch streamers and eSports only. Single players like me are no longer a priority.

Re: Rumour: PES Could Be Going 'Properly Free-To-Play' This Year

Eleventy8

It really depends on what features are sacrificed. Does myClub really make money for Konami?

If things like the edit mode are put behind a paywall and zero changes are made to master league, this could kill the franchise. If PES does go freemium and heavily pushes myClub over everything else… my PES playing days might be done.

I don’t think PES can compete with FIFA sales, even if the games is free. Might just be the last roll of the dice for Konami.

I’ve always been a PES player. I’ll wait till July 21st and remain cautiously optimistic.

Re: CD Projekt Has 'Many Plans' For The Future Beyond Cyberpunk

Eleventy8

I think their full attention should be going into fixing the mess they caused, rather than making promises about future games.

They have really screwed up with Cyber Punk, so much so that the general public will be hesitant to buy anything they launch in future, especially pre-orders.

Who knows, something good might come of all this. Perhaps the pre-order culture and day one patches might disappear... I doubt it, but one has hope.

Re: Madden NFL 21 Fans Really Aren't Happy About The Addition Of SpongeBob

Eleventy8

@Tasuki surely its the publishers and not the devs. I’m a developer, albeit in a different field, and I still have principles that I stick to. Sometimes the business makes decisions that developers have to act on, even though it’s against personal beliefs or personal ethics.

Having said that, this is EA. No, you’re right. I imagine the Madden team at EA comprises of people content to copy and paste code every year.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy An Xbox In 2020?

Eleventy8

Bought both new gen consoles this year. Spent a year trying to convince myself that my Nintendo Switch was all I needed, but a string of passable ports and the only games really performing well being first party Mario titles, felt it was time to buy some real gaming machines.
