Some really silly takes on Game Pass being the cause here.

That's a bit of an aside but Alan Wake 2 is an absolute masterpiece in gaming. The game itself is art. I preordered the deluxe edition on Xbox and will be buying a PC version soon as well.

P.S. I don't see Baldurs Gate 3 on those lists as well.

Game Pass an A for me.

First party a B. Redfall and Forza Motorsport has been absolute dumpster fires in the company of some otherwise really good games.

Is the career mode still broken with the upgrade and save issues?

I think that's fair though considering the other nominees.

I played the first two hours of it on GP and tbh I had no issues with the much discussed 30fps cap on consoles but for me the bigger issue was the combat (didn't have the weightiness or thump of the Arkham or Spiderman series) and the terrible menus. Deleted it after that.

@Sol4ris hahaha. Nah not graphically mate but the open type missions are just horrendously made. Not sure if you've seen how they play.

I still stand by my FM opinion though. Some of the car models are so bad they could be out of a mobile game. Their "ground up" comments was purely marketing speak and they've clearly just copied the stuff over from their older games.

It looks ghastly...and you might one of the very very very few who thinks that it's the usual COD campaign, cause it simply isn't.

Features aside, the single player is still broken AF! They should be feeling the pressure with or without GT7s update but yeah add that on top of course.

Only Alan Wake 2. This is my game of the generation and to be fair I don't think there's been anything like this ever.

@fabisputza007 yeah same here. But after that there hasn't been any audio issues. I know some of the water sounds don't sound great but it isn't broken and will definitely be patched. As for the combat it's much more improved than the first and is akin to something like the RE remakes so not sure what's the issue there.

6 hours in for me and this is an absolute banger. No other game out there is as creatively rich as this in artistic design, graphical fidelity,story telling, level design. 10/10 for me.

Hell yes! Got my calendar cleared out for tomorrow and games already preloaded. According to Windowscentral, it runs great on Series X, which was my biggest worry.

I bet you the numbers have fallen off dramatically after playing the first couple of hours of career. It's a broken mess...I think Xbox should evaluate Turn 10 after taking 6 years to put something like this out.

@Maddie47 oh totally understand the frustration. There's so much broken in a game that's been in production for 6 years and they've simply not acknowledged the issues with the game.

This patch is the equivalent of fixing the hair density of spectator no.657 on the grandstand at the Nürburgring. Absolutely useless. 😅

@Romans12 yeah I did! Huge Remedy fan from back when and I want to support the studio too. So I simply had to. 😁

Pre-ordered it and I can't wait! Personally for this style of game, I would be totally fine playing 30fps if it's fully stable.

It is absolute an masterpiece. Great great survival horror.

@Cherip-the-Ripper oh god. Gaming journalists keep talking up Turn10 as if they're wizards in the industry and then you get a game like this. I'm going to try and reinstall the game but if it still crashes I'm not touching it until it's fixed. Will go back to GT7...

Anyone tested this yet? Saw some replies on Twitter that the crashes after upgrading your car in the career mode still happens...☠️☠️

@GuyinPA75 mate I was thinking to myself after having all these crashes, that even Starfield didn't crash on me this often when it launched. This for a racing game is ridiculous...

How about fixing the damn game Turn 10? I played on the weekend and had a tirade of crashes which then reset practice and race progression in the career mode. How this game was 6 years in development and released in this state is beyond me. Progression and save bugs has to be up there as the most annoying and it has made it into this game.

Surely they have to drop a few games on the service before the holiday season. They'll certainly want to draw some hardware sales over the period.

@ZuneTattooGuy hold the phone, so what you're saying is, I should drop another 80€ for this game based on some minor tweaks to the gameplay, which mind you, people complained about during the beta of MW2 (i.e. slow movement, TTK etc.)? No thank you...

And as for your insinuation that I'm a mindless drone spewing recycled comments from the internet, how about considering for one moment that others have played COD since 2003 and maybe, just maybe, know what they're talking about or may even have a legitimate opinion on it.

Does the term 'Ultra DLC Pro' exist? Cause if not, this game would fall into that category. 😂 I'm sorry nothing they're doing justifies asking full price. I for one won't be dropping a cent on this but watch this become the best selling COD game since Judas Iscariot charged the Pharisees 30 pieces of silver.

@Kaloudz I think they're done continuing the story of Max Payne seeing that it was Rockstar who made the 3rd game. But it is confirmed that Remedy is remaking the first two. And guess who is going to be there day one when that drops...🤓

@Kaloudz oh I'm a huge Remedy nerd cause of the Max Payne series from back in the day and I love how weird their games are and also how they do noir.

With Alan Wake 1, I played it when it first came out and just loved more of the weirdness that the game has. Do I think it has aged well? No...and also I don't think it's like Tenet, although Alan Wake 2 seems to be doing some weird Christopher Nolan stuff with the 2 characters and 2 parallel universes.

@Kaloudz it has definitely peaked my interest. And after seeing how terrible MW3 looks and charging 80€ for the game, I cherish FPS games that do new and interesting things.

I think I will pick this up at some point. But my next gaming purchase is Alan Wake 2! Can't wait for that man!

@GamingFan4Lyf yeah they've clearly made an artistic decision when it comes to the sunny races that don't necessarily look attractive for a game. You'll have summer days where I'm at where the sky is punchy blue and everything just looks vibrant under the sun's glow. So they've made a choice here...

Also if you guys watch the latest DF Direct, they've clearly said that those videos being shared online of the hood view in the rain, and the reflections are SSR and not RT. Just a public service announcement. 😉

From all the videos and reviews that I've watched up till now, the word that springs to mind when summarizing the visuals is: inconsistent.

Seems to look good at night in the rain but in the sun, the game looks washed out. And also some of the old car models looks like something out of a mobile game. Then the newer models look amazing. Just seems inconsistent. But as I said...excited to give it a go this weekend.

For me that statement alone is enough to tell me about the motivation on this update. Think they've probably brought the score up from a 4 or 5 out of 10 to about a 6 or 7 and that would be enough for the service. Really would be surprised if they continued updating it with new content and so on.

I went back and played 2042 a few weeks ago on Series X after not touching it for many months and I will say that, performance wise, the game feels really good. But...redownloaded BF5, I deleted 2042. You see where 2042 is lacking gameplay-wise. The destruction, map design, immersion and Teamplay that you get in the older BF games is simply not there in 2042.

I said it when it first launched and I'll still say it again now, 2042 is a hollow shell of what a BF is.

Think Forza seem to have some things going for it visually, like certain lightings and some track details.

But I must say, for a game that has been 6 years in development, in development 1.5 years longer than GT7 and next gen only, I think GT7 is visually better overall. From the car models, materials, overall lighting, etc. GT7 still looks visually stunning.

Certain things in Forza just look wrong. I.e some of the car models seem to be straight up pulled from their older games and this washed out look of the game which is clearly an artistic choice. GT on the other hand has more contrast and punchy colours.

Activision now competing with EA to put in the least amount of development into a new release whilst charging the same full price for a game.

Is that thumbnail a screenshot from the game? That Diablo model looks like something out of a mobile game.

Overall feeling based on all the reviews I've watched from various outlets and SIM racing channels on YouTube, and I'm just a little disappointed.

It seems like Forza Motorsport as an offering doesn't seem to better GT7 in any area (even graphically). This is a disappointment considering that it has been 6 years since their last entry and 1.5 years later than when GT7 released. I was hoping that FM would at least keep up with GT7 in many areas and best them in some but it doesn't seem the case.

Also the leveling up system seems like just another way to force grind, increase "engagement" and through that lengthen GP subscription.

Will definitely give it a go on GP but overall seems disappointing and I was looking forward to this proper since last year.

Finished it today and amazing game both visually and in the puzzle design. I love me a good puzzle game and this did not disappoint.

Also big shout-out for Game Pass for adding games like these on the service. Have played so many crazy good Indies on the service.

Absolute Muppet. Hopefully they can find someone that understand games and gamers more. Too bad his successor won't be able to reverse the stream of GaaS that Jimbo let go for this generation.

@DoctorJohnDisco hahaha I had this too and after awhile it popped back in.

It's crazy what they've done here. If I were Microsoft, I would be furious and consider legal action against them. Essentially leaked hardware and company strategies to the public.

Since the information is there out in the open, I'm most interested in the controller on the hardware side and of course some of these game leaks are really interesting.

@Kaloudz you can say that again bud! Really an 'All-you-can-eat buffet' this year when it comes to games and quality ones at that. Between all these games and life, I'm not sure if I'll ever get to it but hopefully you'll have a great time when you get to Cyberpunk.

@Kaloudz I did earlier this year and had a good time of it. The world building, I have to say is top notch, as well as the characters in the game. Won't say much about the mechanics and systems since they're getting a huge overhaul with this update.

Would love to go back and play this again from the start because the update does seem comprehensive but between Starfield, Forza Motorsport and Alan Wake 2 I don't see myself getting to it.

Oh man that damn eat button, was baffled that they didn't at launch. Talk about a quality of life improvement 😂

Some pretty decent scores... I still don't get why soulslike games review so well. I never jive with them.

Tbh after the Starfield review process, I'm not going to take outlets like IGN and Gamespot seriously...waiting to hear the thoughts of some of the simracing YouTubers that I follow.

Think it's deserved. Some minor gripes aside it's an amazing game and I've had a tonne of fun with it.

Really can't wait for this. Huge Remedy fan and the game looks great. Any news on how this is running on the Series consoles? I'm guessing it'll be 30fps...

All I'll say is that Starfield is making me feel the same way RDR2 made me feel when it came to the world building and exploration. Could spend hours just lost in the world without even knowing it.

Must say though that the discourse on this game on places like Twitter shows you that the world isn't lacking on idiots. 😂
