Call Of Duty: Vanguard's Install Size Is Surprisingly Small On Xbox

Activision has officially released the install sizes for Call of Duty: Vanguard's launch on November 5th, and despite the COD series being known for ridiculous file sizes in recent years, Vanguard is not too bad at all to start with!

On Xbox One, you're looking at a download of 56.6GB, while Xbox Series X and Series S clock in a little higher at 61GB. Some Xbox owners have suggested it could go up to 72.6GB on Xbox Series X, however.

Here are the official download sizes and required space details for all consoles:

  • PlayStation 5: 64.13 GB Download | 89.84 GB Required Space
  • PlayStation 4: 54.65 GB Download | 93.12 GB Required Space
  • Xbox Series X|S: 61 GB Download | 61 GB Required Space
  • Xbox One: 56.6 GB Download | 56.6 GB Required Space

The reason for the smaller file sizes at launch is because Activision is utilising "new on-demand texture streaming tech", which means the team at Sledgehammer Games can achieve "up to 30% - 50%+ of a file size difference".

Pre-loading has now begun for those who have bought the game, and you should also be able to download it via the Xbox mobile app even if you haven't pre-ordered Vanguard yet. This time next week, we'll be able to start playing!
