Unless they're completely reworking the game, I just don't see a point. The gameplay's not 'bad', but it's watered down and over simplified so much compared to Fallout 4 it gets repetitive fast. And so many of the features like the base building just don't have a purpose anymore but are still there just to say they exist.
@Romans12 In previous reports it's been said internally at Microsoft they don't view Halo as one of their heavy hitting IPs like Forza and Gears anymore. And if Forza and Gears are on and coming to PS, you better believe Halo isn't being left out.
I don't think it'll be the MCC just because that feels like a lot they'd have to rework for cross-play. As the only Campaign that supports it is Halo 3 iirc, and people might be upset if it's only partially cross-play.
If it's a Halo CE Remaster/Remake, as the first Halo for PlayStation, I hope for the Campaign they stick to the original vibrant colors, and for Multiplayer it's not just a complete re-hash of the original's Game Modes. Adding stuff like Big Team Battles and Firefight from later entries, even if in a limited capacity, would be great for first impressions.
@SingleStooge Most people have always bought full priced Nintendo made games. Most people have not bought full priced Xbox made games in the past decade. I don't know how I can simplify it further for you.
Heard the game was by no means bad but definitely the weakest of the 3 DOOM Slayer games. But compared to most modern AAA games it's still one of the best new ideas.
I can't really name any gaming showcase Event in the past decade that was worth watching live. Even if there's a lot of worthwhile stuff in one, there's so much filler it's way less annoying to just read recap articles.
I'm not sure. For whatever reason anytime Microsoft brings up the 360, it seems to be in a negative or dismissive context. For me and a lot of people it was and is the best Xbox console, and they don't seem to think it was very good.
I can't think of a game on Xbox I'd want to play on handheld that isn't already on my Switch or potentially coming to the Switch 2. Microsoft also doesn't get my benefit of the doubt that they'll give it there all. After 12-18 months they either give up on things or slow down to a near stop, so I have no faith this will go anywhere.
Only things I care about from Microsoft as of now are old licensed Activision games coming to modern systems. But if Oblivion is anything to go by, they probably would rather Remaster these games graphically from the ground up than just relist or upscale them.
As someone that goes out of my way to earn them, I can tell you it's not worth it. One of the reasons is it seems they're using a new-ish AI to try and stop people from using bots, scripts, etc. to earn points. Except anyone who does all the daily stuff for long enough will likely trigger the AI and get flagged for Suspicious Activity just for being consistent. If you just wait a few days it'll likely go away on it's own, but it's just another layer of BS that makes people not want to bother.
Was it not already confirmed quite a bit ago they were ending development prematurely due to poor reception of the base game, story DLC, & just general bad monetization? Out of the big 3 Fighting Games that released within a year of each other, unlike Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 MK1 was not that well liked even at launch. Anyone surprised by this simply wasn't paying attention.
Who's idea was it to lock a skin for one of the most popular FPSs out there to a pizza place with only a handful of locations, half of which are in California?
Little Kitty, Big City is only 5 hours at max to do everything. It's not gonna be the kinda game that leaves a lasting impression, but as a Game Pass game it's a fun and quick experience.
@Toot1st Except they didn't. Only the physical Switch 2 games cost more and it's because they're using a new kind of cartridge. Digital games will still cost at most $70, and even then Nintendo releases most of their games for $60 still, so most of the physical games will only be $70. What's Microsoft's excuse?
It's completely artificial value added to Game Pass. The Switch 2's physical games will cost more because it's a different kind of cartridge, and as such only the physical games will cost more. What possible excuse could Microsoft (and inevitably Sony) give to justify it, when they can't even get people to buy their games for current $70? And of course Xbox will charge more for Game Pass to, you're crazy if you don't think that's getting a big price bump too.
I don't see Microsoft making consoles after the inevitable upcoming game industry crash. They might have near infinite money, but they're not gonna keep throwing it at the Xbox brand that's been tanking for the past decade anymore. Microsoft will continue to make and Publish games like Sega as a Third-Party, and Game Pass will exist on other Platforms, but not in it's current form - it'll be like EA Play and exclusively contain games under their brands.
MultiVersus would've been a success if WB hadn't insisted on live service. Though it feels like that can be directly applied to every game they've made in almost a decade that's failed.
I'm gonna hold out until how I hear it compares to the original from people I know once I get a bit into it. A bunch of people just going to the Xbox Store page and giving it 5/5s with a meme attached isn't convincing just because it's a massive install. If it's mostly just improved graphics I'd rather just play the backwards original.
@YeyoFairy It's because the PS4 & Switch versions dropped. Used to go on sale for 9 bucks before that, but Rockstar didn't want anyone buying the 360 one for too much cheaper I guess.
It's insane to me it took getting a new game released and another new game announced for the backwards Ninja Gaiden games to start going on sale. Do these people have some sort of tunnel vision with their IPs where they just, 'forget' about them until they make a new one?
It's not really comparable in my opinion. First off, only physical Switch games that are $70 digital will be $80 physical. And Nintendo's gonna have them be $60/$70 or $70/$80 on a case by case basis. But people still buy physical for Nintendo, where as they don't buy or make many physical games for Xbox between digital sales and GP, and Sony is trying to push for digital-only. The markets between the three consoles are too different for direct comparisons like these. Another example is Xbox, PS, & Nintendo all have Subscription Services for online, but with all the different tiers, their pricings, & their offerings, they can't be compared one to one.
I really don't like articles like this, because it feels every 6 or 12 months Steam updates or runs routine maintenance on everything, and people think it means something's coming. And it's always a nothing burger.
I hope they do it a few games at a time, and I hope they do that to add Cross-play to the Campaigns. Because as far as I'm aware, the Multiplayer is all Cross-play between Xbox and PC, however only the Halo 3 and I think ODST have it as far as Campaigns go.
It could also just be worded or thought out poorly, as, well yeah, the MCC wouldn't contain 5 or Infinite which would be 'all' the main Halo games.
@JayJ They're gonna lay off well over a thousand people after the restructuring they talked about because of this. Personally waiting to see how news sites and people try and spin it as a positive.
Ridiculously hyped for Marvel Cosmic Invasion since it's done by the Shredder's Revenge team. Also hoping it has the same effect and we see plenty of re-releases and Collections of classic Marvel and Spider-Man games.
The Powerwash Sim DLCs would be great for one of these deals. Buy one Crossover you know you'll be more interested in and get one for free you're not sure of.
I don't think Xbox has had a single game for the Series X Gen I've been interested in that wouldn't have run just as well on an Xbox One X. But I also don't have normal taste in anything, so it doesn't mean much. If I had to pick one I guess Shredder's Revenge. My first Beat 'Em Up and it made me fall in love with the Genre.
Technically? Yes, it's about time by usual standards. But for most it doesn't feel like the Series/PS5 console gen has even started yet. And I think it's gonna be a hard sell for most to upgrade considering companies still see profit in making XBO/PS4 versions and there haven't been any must-have games. Even if there are, I'd see more Series & PS5 sales than whatever comes next. A few bells 'n whistles aside, they really feel like Microsoft and Sony's own Wii U's, just reversed - Wii U had good games but bad hardware, while PS5 & Series have good hardware but no games.
It was a classic 360/PS3 Era game that people really want more of these days, instead of more 100 hour open world games that all feel identical. Hope that after 3 does well they redo the first ground up so it's playable on modern hardware with the other 2.
Hasbro is also working with Saber Interactive on something, and considering their in-house game engine specializes in vehicle physics, that screams Transformers or G.I. Joe.
@SMJ Just off the top of my head, the 360 Halo games, DOOM 1993 and DOOM 2, and the Double Fine XBLA games that Microsoft either personally chose to delist or to no re-list because they want you to pay for Game Pass infinitely instead of own them.
Ubisoft's IPs are worth more than the company while costing less, which is why you hear companies talking about wanting to buy the IPs and not Ubisoft itself. I don't really care who gets Assassin's Creed as long as they change it back to what it used to be, instead of another generic Open World grind game. Rayman would be a good fit for Nintendo, because every game could be the wackiness of Mario Wonder and more difficult than Donkey Kong making it stand out from their other Platformers.
Microsoft and Sony still haven't convinced people they need the current hardware, I doubt many are anticipating the next that aren't already gonna buy them regardless. If anything they might sell more PS5s and Series Xs when the new consoles launch for the people still playing on PS4 & XBO.
