I haven’t played it but I’ve watched video. Definitely not for me. Modern turns of phrase in a fantasy setting just put my teeth on edge. Maybe I’ll try it on deep discount someday, but it just feels odd to me.

As someone who played and loved the original Marathon Trilogy back in the day…I will never touch this in-name-only thing.

Just shows that a) people want a more powerful console, b) the series X isn’t impossible to find and c) people like having the disc drive option.

(Yes, I know there is now a disc less X, but I hate it. )

If there’s a physical version, I will get it for Switch unless the physical version actually has the series X version on disc instead of that annoying smart delivery.

If there’s a PS version, however, I will get that instead since PS5 is my primary console. PS, then Switch, then XBox as far as my physical priorities.

Digital priorities are PS, then XBox, then Switch.

Some Xbox fans months ago “bah, they’re lying about technical issues and they could bring it here if they really WANTED to!”

Some Xbox fans now: “bah, it’s not that great a game and grifters did things, I’m not buying this garbage!”

Loving this game. Got it for PS5 and I’m about 17 hours in. It’s completely my thing, and I’m here for this weird fantasy world they’ve crafted.

That said, Spencer BETTER be loving this game, since it looks like MS paid Atlus a good chunk of change to pretend that the PS4/5 versions didn’t exist in almost every piece of promotion they did for the game.

@DJKingaling The game will outright tell you if there’s any you truly need/avoid for a particular dungeon, so you’re safe for the most part!

@OldGamer999 Well, as a primarily PS/Switch gamer, my series X is my first Xbox…and probably my last one. At least I got to play the whole Halo series and discover Forza Horizon 3-5!

@OldGamer999 Yeah, MS’s strategy here baffles me. They say they’re not leaving the console market but at the same time they’re doing everything they can to make it sure SEEM like they want to…

Anyone who buys that all digital series X when the previous one is an option just hates all discs, apparently.

@Nintendo4Sonic Well. For the XBox one. These are still glorified download tokens for the series X thanks to smart delivery, sadly.

Thank goodness I already have all of these physically for PS, and smart delivery makes me not care about the disc versions at all since they won’t have the series X versions on there!

Really wish MS would have gone the industry-standard route and used the M.2 SSD slot like the PS5 does.

I bought a series X to try out all the Xbox exclusives I had never played. Figured the Halo series would be all I really enjoyed.

Turns out Forza 3-5 were the true gems, and I HATE racing games. Purchase was worth it for those alone.

Well, thank goodness they trusted this DLC enough to give it to reviewers early, eh?

I’m a die-hard PS fan but have zero interest in dropping $700 on a console I’d have to add a disc drive to in order to access my already owned games.

I’ll happily stick with my peasant-class PS5.

I picked the game up for dirt cheap on disc, and got the premium thing for like $15 at Walmart.

Been holding off on playing for a while. Might when this releases.

Although hilariously, I guess by selling fewer consoles than Sony or Nintendo they’re making less of an impact…

I genuinely just played this for the first time last week, as I’m a relatively new XBox owner and have never played any Halo games before getting my Series X some months back.

I enjoyed the plot structure, and was VERY pleased to see Nathan Fillion in there, as well as Tricia Helfer!

What, no “Neither because I have no interest in soccer/football and don’t game on PC” option?

I know I’m pretty much guaranteed to buy the sequel, both because I’ll enjoy the game AND I want to reward these folks for giving this studio another chance at life.

Completely unsurprising. One look at the Japanese console sales week after week says it all. Switch and PS5 outsell any XBox by a stupidly huge margin. Heck, Nintendo Life just posted the numbers a little bit ago.

Switch and PS5 sales, even the digital only PS5 which is outsold by the disc version massively, are destroying Xbox there.

MS just isn’t even trying anymore. The only console they can outsell in Japan is the PS4, because almost everyone already HAS one.

Now granted, the Japanese numbers don’t 100% correlate to global sales…but it’s pretty telling all the same.

I mean…compared to Concord, it’s alive and kicking as a roaring success.

No matter how badly xDefiant goes, Ubisoft can at least remember that.

This was frustrating the heck out of me this weekend. I picked up a copy of Dead or Alive 4 at a used game shop on Sunday and COULD NOT get it to install. Finally I found that auto-start option and it did.

Glad they’re finally fixing it, this has been an issue for a few weeks.

Just look at the number of consoles sold in Japan on a weekly/monthly basis.

Their statement is completely accurate. It’s still surprising that companies like Squeenix and Capcom are releasing what they release on it.

Well, at least they’re not cutting jobs involved in the actual making of games. That’s rather important when making games is your business. If they have to cut, let it be positions that don’t impact THAT.

I’m completely happy with my current PS5 sitting next to my series X.

No optical drive included for that insane price. Ridiculous.

@kevinm360 Yeah, I figure there’s a lot of kludge in there (and in any OS, let’s face it), and with the series X running a variant of Windows 11, well…things will definitely happen.

@FraserG Agreed! I’m just amused (WARNING: SONY FANBOY OPINION INCOMING) at the seeming lack of comparable bugs on the PS5 side of things like this. Though obviously there’s no BC to the extent XBox has, I fully grant you.

Of course, I know that Sony still has that three months of the PSN being dead back during the PS3 era. That outage cost me the platinum trophy for AC2 when it happened!

It’s good that MS usually addresses these quickly tho.

@FraserG I’m trying to say that these kinds of bugs shouldn’t even happen while fixing a seemingly unrelated bug, that’s all.

When I first got my series x a few months ago, there was some weird issue that prevented 360 games from auto-logging in. Went away after a few weeks, but as an Xbox noob I thought it was normal.

If THIS bug had happened? I’d probably have returned the series x and moved on with my life, since a big reason for getting it was the backwards compatability. I just can’t comprehend how these things happen while in the process of fixing something that you would think would have no relation to it.

But I guess that’s why I’m just some schlub playing games instead of fixing bugs!

@Banjo- @Trmn8r All I notice is that my question as to how much MS takes off of every XBox console game sale hasn’t been answered.

This feels like a more forgiving and less realistic Elite:Dangerous.

I mean that in a good way and a bad way, in that it seems entertaining but I am VERY BAD AT DRIVING.

It’s a damn shame that it won’t have the original music, but if I really require that…I can bust out my PS3 and fire the original disc up!
