Xbox's DOOM: The Dark Ages Seemingly Has Tiny Amount Of Content On Disc

With DOOM: The Dark Ages now less than a week away from launch, physical copies are starting to crop up in the wild - and that's led to an interesting, if controversial revelation as folks try and install the upcoming Bethesda FPS.

To put it plainly, it seems as though hardly any content from DOOM: The Dark Ages is actually present on the disc. An Xbox player has managed to pull just 328MB of data from their physical copy - while over on PS5, an early copy shows that a measly 85MB of content is available on disc. The Sony console then prompts players to "connect to the internet to update DOOM: The Dark Ages".

This sort of thing has become commonplace during this generation of gaming, with Microsoft often coming under fire for being one of the worst offenders for requiring day one updates. This does feel like a shockingly low amount of data to be shipping on-disc though, and there are legitimate concerns for future proofing these physical copies.

It's worth us saying that we haven't been able to verify this ourselves, and these are just a couple of examples of what people seem to be running into out there with DOOM: The Dark Ages. Of course, this also isn't a big deal if you're accessing the game digitally / via Xbox Game Pass, where you'll have to download the full thing anyway.
