I mean, Doom and Doom Eternal came to the original Switch, along with all the Borderlands games and others.

They’d almost certainly make a profit on a Switch 2 port of GoW. Especially if they followed it up with comparable follow up Gears releases.

Leaving that aside though, you can’t tell me that Forza 5 wouldn’t print money on Switch 2!

Btw I am one of the folks who bought GoW on PS5 when I found out the disc actually had the game on it! I already have the XBone release on disc but as the first GoW game on PS…

The sooner they release games, the better. MS is leaving money on the table by not porting to S2. Especially given that Nintendo sold over 10 million S2s since launch.

To put that into perspective, MS has sold 28.3 million Series X/S consoles combined in five years.

Yeah. MS needs to speed up the porting. Imagine Forza Horizon 5 or Gears of War on Switch 2.

@Gabrie Ubisoft ported Star Wars Outlaws to S2 and the port is darn near rock solid. CD Projekt Red got Cyberpunk 2077 to run on it near-flawlessly. Given that games like Forza Horizon 5 run on the XBox One, I’m sure a port can be arranged. Plus Indiana Jones was already announced for Switch 2. It helps that the S2 is not far away from the Series S in specs.

I don’t understand why anyone would buy this, unless they REALLY had a craving for that creation club stuff. This game has gone on massive sale so many times, a free upgrade exists from the PS4/XBone versions…

It’s a damn shame about Arkham Origins. I found a 360 disc for cheap recently but the dlc is now unpurchaseable.

I do have the dlc for PS3 as well as the game itself, but BC on my X is more convenient than digging the PS3 out of storage.

…seeing things like this brain dead blather from MS execs make it even more likely my Series X will be my first and last XBox.

Gosh, who would have thought that making a live service game while barely promoting it and not shouting out the ties it has to your previous games’ universe while your latest game in said universe took nearly two years to break even/make a profit would backfire?

Edit: If Wikipedia can be trusted, found this. “In July 2018, after announcing their new game, which stars one of the Quantum Break actresses, Remedy CEO Tero Virtala said that a sequel is pending approval from Microsoft, which owns the intellectual property (IP) of Quantum Break.”

@Cvantez If I’m not mistaken, MS owns Quantum Break and the associated IP, so there’d have to be some work behind the scenes with MS and Remedy, or maybe Remedy buying the rights from MS.

@Banjo- I started playing Quantum Break last year but unfortunately it was when FF14 had its claws in me REAL deep so I let it sit.

I need to go back to that. Maybe after I’m done with Trails In the Sky 1st Encounter and Trails of Cold Steel 1&2!

Now that is very, very interesting.

So few games seem to take advantage of the series X’s slightly faster bits that it becomes normal to expect equal performance between it and the PS5, or even better results on the PS5 for some games.

Even as a Sony fanboy (who also owns a series X) I can appreciate the extra work Remedy did to harness that horsepower! Especially since I own Control for PS5 and on disc for X.

I went to a couple of local stores yesterday. Two Targets and a Walmart.

Target: One had zero Xbox game displays up anymore. It was just gone from the wall. They had an accessory display and prepaid cards but zero systems and no place to even display physical games. The other DID have physical game displays but it was half the size it used to be.

In comparison; the Sony area was unchanged from previous visits (one entire side of an aisle) and Nintendo owned an entire aisle in both stores.

The Walmart I went to was unchanged in size of displays…but there were maybe five physical games in what was a huge XBox display case. A to of wasted space. A couple of Series S and X consoles and some clearance headphones and a full case of controllers were next to the empty game display.

So…YMMV but it isn’t looking fantastic. I live in a larger metro area as well. I also stopped by my local Sam’s Club (it was right next to the Walmart) and they had plenty of PS5s, Switches (no S2) and plenty of XBox controllers. Zero XBox systems at all.

@MrStark I’m only reporting what I’ve seen with my own eyes in the last 24 hours. It sadly partially tracks.

@Tainted That…is an extremely odd statement to make as MS seems to be doing everything it can to exit the actual console-making business and Sony’s CEO said the’re working on the next console.

It just seems like MS is doing everything they can to lose in the hardware space at this point.

At least we know there’ll be a PS6.

@Questionable_Duck Valid! I have a plethora of free time myself, so when I had gamepass it was a decent value to sample a bunch of games. (Less so now, of course….)

I already know I’ll be getting this, whether at launch or down the road. Hilariously the only reason I even tried it was because it was a PS Plus monthly game a while back, and I got addicted to it.

And you assume someone will only play this game for a month and no other. I sincerely doubt that most people will do this, gamepass folk tend to go from game to game.

That said, I’ll definitely be buying this on either Switch 2 or PS5 for sure.

Only way to know which case this is will be to see what gets announced, if anything.

I don’t want it and the addition of it to GPU makes it far less likely I’ll ever use GPU again other than the single 3-month card I have stashed away for Forza Horizon 6.

In a world where the Switch 2 is selling wonderfully and isn’t as powerful as the Series X and PS5, it’s hard to argue that a new console generation is really needed at the moment. Devs aren’t harnessing the X or PS5 (let alone the PS5 Pro) to their limits yet with very few exceptions.

That’s a darn good price for Hogwarts. If I didn’t already have it digitally on PS5, Switch and Switch 2 and physically on Series X, I’d consider it!

So the actual dev team making NEW games wouldn’t be impacted at all and we could have a shinier DA:O/2 AND new games.

@BacklogBrad It’d be nice if PS4/5 owners could play the original Origins and 2 as well. They were PS3 games on PS and the 4 and 5 can’t play them at all. Not to mention have a prettier release with all the DLC included without having to rely on BC.

It amuses me that Pure XBox’s sister site Push Square includes far more context for this, making this WAY less “OMG SONY GONNA GO MULTIPLATFORM!!!1!11!” than everyone is making it out to be.
