Warner Bros Games Revenue Declines By Almost 50% At The Start Of 2025

At the tail end of last year, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League developer Rocksteady announced the game's impending offline mode as it prepared to sunset the live service title - and publisher Warner Bros. continues to suffer as a result of the game's disappointing performance.

As shared by GamesIndustry.biz, WB Games has recorded a 48% drop in revenue from Q1 2025. This is largely attributed to the aforementioned Suicide Squad's failings in the market, and the fact that the team didn't drop any brand-new releases during the first quarter of the year.

There were some positive notes hit on by the publisher during its financial results, though. Both the super-popular Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 continue to bring in revenue for the publisher - and as a side note, it mentioned the recent Minecraft movie and its massive success at the box office for Warner Bros. as a whole.

A few months back, the company also restructured its games business "around building the best games possible with our key franchises" - namedropping Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC and Game of Thrones in the process. We're yet to see what that big restructure will produce, but you can probably expect much safer bets from WB Games going forward - whenever they arrive.
