Rumour: Xbox Won't Announce Starfield For PS5 Until 2026, It's Claimed

Back in August, we heard separate rumours to do with Xbox's Starfield - both relating to the game expanding to more platforms in 2026. First we heard about a PS5 version coming in Spring, before leaker NateTheHate added that a Switch 2 version was also planned for some point next year. Now, that same insider is claiming that we won't hear of an announcement on Starfield until 2026 either.

Replying to a query on social media, NateTheHate says that they "believe" the Starfield PS5 announcement will come in 2026 "unless plans change". Based on their Switch 2 information from a few months ago, we'd assume that the game will be announced for the Nintendo platform at the same time as well.

Of course, for now this is all rumour and hearsay and shouldn't be taken as gospel or anything - we just wanted to inform you all that any further Starfield announcements probably won't come this year. We're paying extra attention to the Bethesda RPG's future because, well, we're half expecting any port announcements to come alongside some big updates — and potentially even a new DLC expansion — for Xbox players. Only time will tell on that, but Bethesda has certainly teased it!

Either way, despite showcases such as The Game Awards coming up here in just over a month or so, it's looking less and less likely that we'll hear anything major about Starfield until 2026. All eyes on next year for the Bethesda RPG, then, eh? Here's hoping!
