We've been waiting to hear how well Helldivers 2 has sold on Xbox Series X|S since its launch last week, and although we don't have official figures at the time of writing, some new sales estimates suggest it's faring very well so far.
This is coming from Alinea Analytics, which says that Helldivers 2 sold just under one million copies within its first six days on sale for Xbox Series X and S, which seems like an amazing return for a game that's technically 18 months old.
"Also, PlayStation published Helldivers 2 on Xbox on the same day as the Gears Reloaded launch. As of yesterday (six days after launch), Helldivers 2 landed 926 K copies on Xbox."
In fact, it's even mentioned that Helldivers 2 only sold 633k copies on PS5 in its first six days last year, meaning the Xbox version has surpassed it by almost 300,000 sales! Of course, we didn't know back in February of 2024 how massive the game would turn out to be, but still - all of this clearly shows it's done very well on Xbox.
"The pent-up demand for this incredible game speaks for itself. In fact, the PlayStation version had sold 633 K copies six days after launching last year."
It also bodes well for future PlayStation Studios titles on Xbox! Sony will have been watching this release very closely to see whether it was worth bringing more games to Xbox in the future, and if these sales figures are anywhere close to correct (and they keep ramping up), we should be seeing more first-party PS5 titles on Xbox before long.
