Yesterday, we highlighted the release of Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition - a new version of the game that bundles in a bunch of DLC content (just like the Game of the Year Edition) along with over 150 pieces of Creation Club content.
Unfortunately, it's not going down too well with fans right now. The Fallout communities are littered with posts about how the Creation Club content is underwhelming, some players have suffered bugs and issues with their existing mods (which to be fair, Bethesda warned about ahead of release), and there's just a general sentiment that the Anniversary Edition didn't need to exist... or at least, it could have been more like the Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
Here are some examples (warning of profanity ahead):
There's also evidently been some confusion about what you actually get with the Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition compared to previous releases, with certain fans clearly not realising that if they already own the Game of the Year Edition, it's just the Creation Club content that's added here - and you can get that in a cheap "Creations Bundle" anyway.
Bethesda will keep working on the Anniversary Edition and ensure that everything's working smoothly in the coming weeks, with various bug fixes and an increased storage limit for mods on the way (across two patches on November 24th and sometime in December), and the Anniversary Edition will ultimately end up becoming the best package for Fallout 4. For now though, it's off to a somewhat turbulent start.
