Replaced Dev Warns Of Issue For Xbox Series S Players At Launch, Fix Planned For This Week

The reviews for the brand-new Xbox Game Pass title Replaced have been excellent today, but if you're planning to play it on Xbox Series S, the developer has spotted an issue that you'll want to be aware of.

Speaking to IGN, Sad Cat Studios says that the transition between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 may cause a memory-related hang if you've been playing the game in a single sitting up to then, so you could lose all your progress.

“On Series S, the game may suffer a memory-related hang in the transition between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 if the game has been played in a single session up to this point.”

To reduce the risk of this happening, you'll want to quit and restart the game during Chapter 4 "to clear out the console’s RAM". A permanent fix is planned for this week, with a patch going into certification with Xbox tomorrow (April 15th).

Apparently, the update will also complete the endgame cinematics for Replaced on Xbox Series S, so it sounds like that version just didn't quite get finished up in time — you might want to wait a few days to play it as a result.

This is obviously a bit of a bummer, but we're just so glad Replaced ended up impressing the critics, and we're fine to deal with the odd issue on Series S at launch, especially considering it'll be fixed as quickly as possible this week!
