Our next look at Forza Horizon 6 has again come via IGN First this week, but this one is a much more in-depth glimpse at the Xbox racer, as Playground Games details new event types, in-game tracks, open-world activities and more ahead of launch this May.

The core of the video focuses on just what players can get up to in open-world Japan in this particular Forza Horizon title, with Time Attack and Drag Race events shown off and talked about here. These are both integrated seamlessly in the open world; players can simply drive up to them and interact without any menus or such digital barriers. Lovely.

"An inside look at how some of the exciting new open-world experiences work in Forza Horizon 6, featuring members of the team from Playground Games!"

We also get a bit more chatter about progression here, which we know is something that long-time fans are keen to hear more about. The team at Playground has really focused on making the Horizon Festival — and its associated races — offer up rewarding progression via its Wristband system - and then we have a separate system that simply rewards players for cruising around in the open world, or indeed interacting with those seamless activities we mentioned in the paragraph above.

It sounds as though the team is trying to cater to all different types of Forza Horizon fan, then, and if they can pull it off and make the experience satisfying for all, this could be an all-timer of an FH game. It certainly gives us more confidence than last week's video anyway! Roll on May 2026...
