Re: Opinion: As The Dust Settles On PS5 Pro, I'm Still Glad Xbox Didn't Bother

First 22 years of my gaming life this would have been a hard no, couldn’t afford it or the premium TV needed to take advantage of the improvements.

Today it was a day one buy and I’ll give my buddy’s kid my old PS5. In the past few months I’ve moved my third party game buys from Xbox to PS, after almost a decade of buying them in Xbox.

I do wonder if this will be profitable enough for Sony, is there enough demand and will there be enough like me making this change.

My friends and I rocked this 98 to 04, got together tonight to play it again and it was like a time warp. This was the ultimate couch co-op game for us and is still a blast playing with 3 friends today.

Old rules still applied, if you picked oddjob the other 3 get to gang up and 4th place does a shot. The same friend that lost all the time all those years ago still lost tonight, it was great.

As a consumer I’m fine with it, gamepass covers so much for me already on Series X and I only buy exclusives for PS5.

As long as Sony keeps putting out great exclusives from a business perspective they should be fine not offering them day 1 with a subscription. Microsoft should also be fine going the other way. I see both being able to be successful with different strategy’s.

There is interest because the campaign is incredibly fun and completely compliments the movie. It’s rare a video game based on a movie is this good, but the devs took their time and released it in 97, two years after Goldeneye hit the big screen.

Multi-player and all it’s options was the perfect couch multi-coop. Slappers, remote mines, proximity mines, license to kill, all very fun options or modes. It still holds up in this regard.

Frame rate drops really hit it on N64, but you kinda dealt with it because the gameplay was so fun. My main reasons for being excited is stable frame rates and being able to play it on a comfortable controller. Not the N64.

It was an amazing experience back in 1998 and we would play all nighters in college with the loser doing a shot. The same roommate would usually lose the first three matches and it all went to heck from there. Can’t wait to play this on modern hardware and my same group of friends will be getting back together for an old school night.
