I use my Xbox 360 all the time. I have so many games for it it's not even funny. That's why I have six fully refurbished units. I have three matte S, 2 glossy S, and an E. I have a few more for parts as well and I plan on getting another E, I just need to find one that's not all scratched up.
@benseac I was wondering the same thing and I have my wallet ready. I've been holding out on Call of Duty Classic for years waiting for that one to be on sale. I already know as soon as I buy it full price the next day it will go on sale.
@cardcrusher29 You would be suprised how much action the back seat of my prius saw. Yet, simultaneously had about an equal about of ***** talked about it.
@NEStalgia They have a lot of new stuff on there as well. Like Baldur's Gate 3. I don't know if they have all the new releases but I saw quite a few on there.
@ShadowofTwilight I'm not sure you understand what you're talking about. For example, I have Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, I purchased it from GOG. How can Sony stop me from playing that game on an Xbox branded PC? DEAL WITH IT!
@NEStalgia You should check out GOG for PC games. They are DRM free and they allow you to download the install files. So, you could make a fully functioning physical copy or just store the files on a backup drive. It's the way it should be for digital purchases.
@ShadowofTwilight They are already on PC, how and why would they block them? Are they going to now dictate which PC hardware we can play our purchased games on? I don't see how they're going to pull that off.
@Feffster I'm guessing they are going to do something similar to steam's big picture mode but with the Xbox interface on Windows and maybe even allow PC games to play as well as Xbox games. I think down the line they will be one in the same. Xbox games will just be PC games with certain profiles for Xbox branded PC hardware. PC games already have automatic benchmarking on some of them and tell you what settings to put them at as well as the Nvidia game ready stuff. I can't imagine it would be very hard for them to do something similar for specific Xbox branded PC hardware.
I just thought of something else, they may get out of hardware altogether and just tell PC manufacturers what specifications to make for certain tiers of Xbox profiles and sell them as certain tiers of Xbox PC. That would make it a lot easier on Microsoft and they could focus on software.
@Grumblevolcano I was not aware that PlayStation backtracked on closing the stores. When they do eventually, I wonder if they will still make the content available or if it will go away as they originally planned.
@101Force I really think that's where it's going. The developers should love it because it's less versions of a game they have to develop. It will eliminate the problem we have with the Series S and Series X. They will just do what they've been doing on PC all this time. Especially if they decide to come out with different tiers of hardware which would actually work very well in that scenario. Maybe the Series S and X are just the precursors to that, to get people used to it.
@Jenkinss Yeah that licensing bull$h!t seems to be causing a lot of problems. Hopefully part of this future proofing is the licensing. Since Microsoft is well aware of backwards and forward compatibility, hopefully they will build it into the licensing and we won't have to deal with any of this nonsense ever again.
@BAMozzy I didn't think of it like that, I was thinking more along the lines that both versions will be the same. Meaning since the server will be there to keep the game updated you would be playing the same version of the game whether you had the digital or physical.
@Grumblevolcano I get what you're saying, but it's almost been 20 years and most of the games you can get on the new Xbox storefront and still play them on your Xbox 360. They need to bring the rest of the games over to the new storefront. Also, even with the store closed you will still be able to download your previously purchased content unlike PlayStation and Nintendo digital stores.
@BleedingDreamer Original Xbox's aren't hard to find or expensive. Get one of those pound HDMI adapters that is also readily available and inexpensive and probably the best one out of the easily available and affordable ones. Then get a wingman XB2 to use Series X controllers with it. That's all you really need to play original Xbox on original hardware in a modern way.
@RBRTMNZ It is the most comfortable piece of furniture that I've ever sat in. I fall asleep in it for hours sometimes. There was a time I was unintentionally sleeping in it more than my bed. I like the armrests that lift up and have storage.
@RBRTMNZ Exactly, I try to explain to people that higher resolution does no good unless you have a framerate that allows you to see the detail in motion. What's the point of having graphics that you can only appreciate while taking a screenshot? I think they should have gone with 1440p/60. I really think that at least 60fps should be required for 1080p and up and preferably 120fps for 1440p and up. I have tried 4k/30 and it looks about the same as 1440p/30 so why even bother. Like you said, you can't really see 4K at normal distances and I agree. I have 20/10 vision and while I can technically see the difference if I try, Its not noticeable otherwise. I use a 55" 4K TV sitting in a recliner with my eyes being 5ft. from the screen.
I guess I'm in the minority but I thought of Assassin's Creed Valhalla with all of its DLCs was a little short. I kind of felt ripped off even though I got it on sale for $15 new for the base game and then I got all the DLCs when they were on sale. I have about 290 hours in it. I felt like it should have been around 400.
I was really hoping Big Santa breaks down on the side of the road was gonna be in this sale, I'm very disappointed. Now I'm probably going to have to wait until the Christmas sale. By then it's probably going to be bundled with Rudolph goes south and gets a Mohawk.
@RBRTMNZ I've actually taken a legitimate vision test in a doctor's office that says I can see between 480 and 600 fps. I completely agree with that based on what I have experienced. That being said, I can enjoy and have been enjoying 30fps games for my whole life. I do prefer at least 60fps though.
@endlessleep I think you nailed it with that, that is exactly what they should do and how they should do it. I think that is truly the future. I have another idea. I really like the size of the screen on gaming laptops like 16". I wish they would come out with a portable system that is meant to be table top or even in your lap. Like how yoga laptops do. Where it can be in laptop mode, flip it over in tablet mode or put it in tent mode so it stands up by itself. If they could do something like that without it being a laptop and basically look the same. Just make the lower half the hardware just like a laptop but have no keyboard. Then you use your Xbox controller. For audio, either use internal speakers, headset connected to the controller or maybe they could have Bluetooth and/or Xbox wireless built in. I think that form factor would sell just as well as a handheld device.
@Ricky-Spanish If you buy something you should expect lifetime access unless it is stated specifically that there is a time limitation on your purchase. As far as physical items go, this has been the way it has been since the beginning of time. When I buy something, I expect it to be mine and have unlimited access to it until the item fails/reaches the end of it's useful life, gets lost/stolen or I choose to give/sell it to someone else. Corporations really are brainwashing people these days. People are already believing that they don't have unlimited access to their purchases.
@AlienigenX They do use the same Blu-ray technology as PlayStation 5. It's just that Xbox games compile differently so they are a different size. They may also have larger assets because the quality may be slightly better on the Xbox as well.
