You know the terms of service everyone agrees to before they use anything? You know how they're always sending us updates to these terms of service? They say if we don't agree then we can stop using whatever the terms of service are for. Well, that's not really how it works. If you buy something and it comes with a terms of service, that terms of service can only be changed if both parties agree. They present it to you as if you're not allowed to use the thing you paid for anymore if you disagree with the new terms of service that they have altered. The truth is they are not allowed to change the terms of service unless both parties agree. Most people don't know that a contract between entities or people can only be changed if both parties agree. When they change the terms of service they are voiding the contract if you don't agree. That doesn't mean that you can no longer use the thing that you paid for, it means they are in violation of the contract and you can sue them. Any changes to a contract after the fact are invalid if both parties don't agree. With that being said, if we participate in the manner in which they do, and this is law, if they are able to tell us when a contract changes, we can do the same thing. We can send them a notice of us changing the terms of service and if they don't agree, they can give us our money back. People don't realize they have that power. I hope one day everyone does realize they have that power and these terms of service will be written to benefit everyone and to protect everyone. All you have to do is send them a terms of service that has been updated to change something you want changed, send it notarized, certified with return receipt and state they have 30 days to respond. If they do not respond, you have now updated your contract with that company. If they want to play that game with us, we have the legal right to do the exact same thing. I have already done this multiple times and when you do send something like that, they just throw it in the trash most of the time. I have won multiple times in court doing the exact thing with other companies. So everyone, I suggest everybody start updating the terms of service to something that benefits you.
How hard is it to put it back the way it was before the ads and allow us to resize and arrange the tiles the way we like, like how it is on Windows? We know it's possible because of Windows. We know it's possible because the Xbox runs on Windows. I paid good money for the Xboxes that I have. I did not purchase them under a subsidy. I should not have to look at ads. I will not purchase another Microsoft anything that contains ads. Companies need to realize we are either the customer or the product, not both. That's just disrespectful. They also need to make it clear which one we are. If we are the product everything to do with the service should be provided for free. If we are the customer everything should be provided to us at a price. Nowhere in any of the terms of service or purchase agreement or receipt or anything does it say that I am purchasing a product partially subsidized by ads. Any company that behaves this way will not receive my business. If all of us who disagree with the way they do business, made the same decision, they would not be conducting business in that manner. I think companies and customers alike forget that the customers are in control. It's about time we exercise that control. We are willing to pay good money for good products with no bull$hit. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Buy what you can afford when you can afford it. It's really simple. On a similar note the McDonald's app today asked me if I wanted to finance my order. If I need to finance a McDonald's order I do not need to be ordering McDonald's. That's how I feel about Xbox lately and anything really.
@OldGamer999 There is this long lost concept. It is incredibly simple. It is a solution that works every time. Ok, here goes..... If you don't like a product or service..... Don't purchase or use it. Find something that fits your needs, that you enjoy. I really hope this helps. Choice, who would've thunk it?
I will be playing Hairy Ballz: Scratch and Sniff all weekend long. So much scratching, so much sniffing. Such a wonderful experience, I just can't get enough.
If I don't own anything that I buy from them, whether it be a physical item or a license to something, I will continue NOT owing anything from them by not buying anything from them. Most of us understand that we are buying a license to a piece of software, but it is implied that the license does not expire unless otherwise stated and we have the expectation that it will be accessable indefinitely. Maybe the money I paid them to BUY the license should be revoked when the license gets revoked.
Why don't they just release an updated Elite Series 2 with hall effect sticks and make everyone happy? It seems like a trivial change that would benefit them as well.
I've been playing Farty Marty Bubble Fart Quest, it's been pretty good so far, very strange game though. The game came with a scratch and sniff card. I regret scratching it. I can't get the smell of soapy farts out of my nose. It's a smell you'll never forget.
Since it seems the future is going in the digital only direction for software, it would be nice and make the most sense if when we buy a piece of software, that it would come with a universal license for all platforms that it is available on as well as any platform that it may be available on in the future. You just purchase the game and you automatically have a license for whatever device or ecosystem you choose to play it on.
@CoolDadTx Companies to not create laws based on their TOS. Just because they may state it is illegal in their TOS does not mean anything. Their may laws that exist that they are referring to, but most of the time they are just making things up and the things they say in their TOS are not criminally legally enforceable, but they may be civilly legally enforceable. On the other hand, maybe Microsoft should purchase this and utilize it to the fullest. That way it would be 100% legal. It would also greatly expand "Xbox everywhere".
@Millionski I'll rephrase that, I think Game Pass is killing gaming period. At least the way it's implemented. I think Game Pass should be reserved for old games and little cheap games. Putting new AAA titles on there I think is a mistake. I don't see how they're making more money. $20 subscription versus $70 or more. Then they start making games for Game Pass instead of making games the normal way through creativity. They end up just pumping out a bunch of cheap crap to make it look like they have a lot so people perceive increased value. Like I said, if they want to put older things on there I think that's awesome because no one's going to pay for those anymore anyway. I just don't see it being sustainable in the long term even though the data suggests the opposite. I don't want gaming to turn into Netflix. At the same time Netflix does have a lot of good stuff that's made just for Netflix. Maybe they'll pull it off, if they do that would be awesome. I just want quality games with no compromises. Like the 360 era.
I knew the Series X had the power. 4K/120 no problem and it looks amazing. Why are other developers having problems getting power out of this box? I now have to boycott anything less than 60 frames a second unless they do it on purpose and really on purpose, not pretend on purpose just because they are lazy. These 1080p/30 games that are coming out are a joke. 1080p/60 is I guess okay if there's a lot going on, but other than that there's no excuse.
I think Game Pass is the worst thing to ever happen to Xbox. On the other hand I think Game Pass is the best thing that happened for the consumer. I just wish they could both coexist.
@StylesT it's kind of weird, because it seems like everyone works for Microsoft. Whatever happened to just being the customer and buying what they have to offer and not worrying about the internal business, unless you're a shareholder. All this s_h_i_t all the time about everyone worrying about all this nonsense just takes away from enjoying playing games. Buy the games, play them, and that's it. I don't give a f_u_c_k about all this nonsense. It's like everyone thinks they work for these companies now, acting in some kind official capacity. They don't know who you are, they don't give a fu¢k and never will. They sell a product, you buy it, that's where the relationship ends. It's getting really weird and creepy how people are acting about all this, being all up these companies a$$es. Man, I miss the '80s and '90s.
@StylesT I have a question. What..is...your...and...the others...like...you... obsession...with...exclusives? I just don't get it. It makes no sense whatsoever.
@InterceptorAlpha I have the 520 and 920. I really enjoyed both of them. That 520 is the best cheap phone I've ever had. Still runs like a champ to this day. Windows phones don't slow down over time for some reason. I really liked my 920 that's what I upgraded to from the 520. It was kind of heavy though. Excellent camera. My mom had the 1520. I still have all of those phones along with all my old cell phones just in a box somewhere. I come across the box from time to time and take them out and mess with them.
@Fiendish-Beaver I think you may want to reread what I wrote. It seems that you miscomprehended the entire thing.
What I'm saying about PC and Xbox blending together is that the Xbox consoles will just be PCs with an Xbox front end and there will be an Xbox app with an Xbox front end on the PC, so it will all be the same and it will be the exact same piece of software.
I believe that they also may open up to allowing other companies to make Xbox hardware spec'd PC's. Basically what I'm saying is that each generation of Xbox will just be a certain set of PC hardware for Microsoft and other manufacturers to make into a console for the TV, but the same software will also work on dedicated gaming PCs.
@Fiendish-Beaver Consoles will just be another way to play. I don't think they'll ever go away, especially with cloud gaming. I don't know why everyone is so against having more options. If when I buy a piece of software and my only option is in a digital only format, I'm going to want it accessible in as many places and ways as possible. These people that are getting upset about what Xbox is doing is completely unreasonable to me. Why would anyone want to limit where they can use their purchased software? To me that seems like those people are these weird fanboy, cultist, loyalist to a brand or a thing and that is really weird to me. I prefer platform agnostic software because I enjoy freedom. It also ensures that in the future my software will continue to be accessible and not rely on a specific piece of hardware to run. Like I said, I don't understand all these people wanting to artificially limit their access to their own software, it just seems weird to me. For example: look at movies and music, they work everywhere and they have apps where you can access them on anything. Gaming needs to get to the same place. I know that seems kind of weird, because you can only see certain content on certain apps and certain networks, but eventually those things go to other platforms and slowly but surely the exclusivity is going away with those as well. My point is, those things work on a wide variety of devices across multiple operating systems and ecosystems yet you can get the same content. The next step would be to not need multiple ecosystems, just one ecosystem on whatever device you choose you can access all of the same content.
I think also people are seeming to forget the Xbox and PC are blending together and going to become one thing soon, that's probably why a lot of developers are skipping Xbox yet bringing out on PC. Why would they develop a game for an ecosystem that's no longer going to exist once they convert everything Xbox to be compatible with PC? I'm pretty sure the next Xbox console is just going to be a PC with a software, whether it be an emulator or whatever way they want to do it to where it just runs Xbox games as well. From what I understand there's very little difference between the PC version and the Xbox version, so it's just making it easier on everybody.
Good, I think exclusives are dumb. Everyone should be able to enjoy an artist's creation no matter what machine they decide to use. Artificial limitations in this society should not exist in this day and age. How are we ever going to get to the Future if we keep living in the past? I think Microsoft has the correct idea with Xbox. I think they are finally accomplishing what they set out to do with the original Xbox. There should just be a universal platform for all software to exist no matter what hardware you're deciding to use. The only deciding factor should be if the hardware you're using meets the minimum requirements for the software you're trying to use with it.
In an ideal World we would have only one computing platform for everything so creators of any kind of software could make one version of it and scale to whatever hardware you have within reason. Like I said meets minimum requirements. It would also be nice because I wouldn't have to have 15 damn boxes to do certain things. Instead I could have 15 different boxes because I like to have different form factors for different situations, but they could all accomplish all of the tasks that I have for computing.
It would be awesome to be able to play Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation and whatever's left on PC games, movies, music, everything, as well as all computing software on one machine with the same operating system and ecosystem. They could very easily do it, it already works that way on PC basically. Just have different store fronts on one OS.
@shoeses Oh okay, I thought when they shut down those stores they took away the ability to redownload your purchases. I read that in multiple places, so maybe they backtracked like Sony did.
I think I we should all file a class action lawsuit, not to really get any money out of it, but to get our purchases back at least and to bring awareness so everyone else can participate and maybe they'll stop doing this. Power in numbers. People and companies seem to forget that we are the ones that control things. A company only exists to sell us what we want and if they're not selling us what we want, they have no reason to exist.
@Major_Player That was the one I forgot, the PS Vita. I haven't had a PlayStation product in a while but I do remember it being a mess trying to find my downloads. It's like they do it on purpose. There's no reason it should be so difficult and disorganized to download your purchases. I 100% guarantee you isn't that way on their side.
@Major_Player And what about all of the other digital stores that have closed and took your purchases with it, like the Wii, the DS and the Wii U. Didn't they do that with the PlayStation 3 but backtracked on it or something?
@Major_Player That's why I keep all of the emails for all of the purchases as well. I've already spoken with my attorney about this situation and he says these companies that are doing this are about to get sued and it's about to be one of the biggest lawsuits of all time. He says legally they cannot deny you access to your content that you have paid for no matter what it says in their terms of service, because when you bought it it said purchase or buy. You are purchasing a license with unlimited access. If it said rent or borrow or if in the terms of sale it had a date in which your access would end that would be a different story. Basically, he said if they deny you access to your content or remove it from your library, it is theft unless they reimburse you the purchase price and technically it's still theft unless they have your permission. If they do that with any content that I have paid for, I have it handled. He says most likely he will send them a letter and they will send him a check and keep it quiet. If everyone did this they would probably stop doing it in the first place, because it's going to cost them the purchase price of the content and the attorney fee. There needs to be legislation put in place to correct the situation.
@Feffster That doesn't work. I had a Sherlock Holmes game disappear that I got free with Games with Gold. I called them and they said I never owned it or never claimed it. I had play time on it with an achievement and they said I could have the disc or been on someone else's account. I found out the reason that it disappeared is because they came out with the Redux version. It doesn't make sense why both can't exist together, but I figured it out when the original version was delisted. I stopped buying digital games on Xbox and have only been buying them on PC. I buy them mostly on GOG because they are DRM free and they provide the installation files for download as well, so I can make a physical copy of the game or just back it up. I know how to backup my digital games on the other stores as well, so that's what I've been doing. Until that bull$h!t stops with the Xbox I'm not giving them anymore of my money.
What if, maybe, the reviewer was, maybe, smoking some of the, I don't know, rock variety while he was writing this review. All just speculation, but completely plausible.
@JokerBoy322 Tell me about it, as I'm sitting here writing this comment, my dog walks by and he has a sweater on that says, "This is an Xbox". So I guess my dog is now an Xbox. That's cool though, I always wanted an Xbox that follows me around everywhere I go. I think instead of Microsoft claiming everything is an Xbox, they should have stated that everything can utilize the Xbox ecosystem. Maybe by somehow coming up with a slogan that emphasizes and acknowledges how everything is becoming digital and you can access your digital games in more places on more devices and more platforms than other ecosystems. I think what they're trying to do and not doing it correctly, is to convert Xbox into an ecosystem instead of a platform. They could pull it off, they just need to let people know that when you buy a game on the Xbox marketplace, no matter what device you're using, that purchase will follow you everywhere that there is an Xbox app or hardware. That's a huge selling point for a lot of people because it would build confidence in their purchase because they know that game will follow them between devices of different brands and different generations. That's one of the main reasons I have invested in the Xbox ecosystem.
We really need to stop catering to these people. People have the right to say whatever they want, they should not have to explain themselves or apologize to the people who may be offended. There will always be at someone who's offended by something. So, if we just ignore those people that are just trying to get attention, they will very quickly learn that whatever they're trying to do doesn't accomplish anything and they will stop. It really concerns me that everywhere I look, I see people are saying things and then immediately apologizing for everything they say. It's actually kind of weird and then I wonder why are they even speaking at that point.
@JokerBoy322 Maybe keep your Series X so you don't have to deal with the nonsense that is Sony and it's ecosystem, that allows your games to just disappear and oh well thanks for the money.

Re: Yes, The Outer Worlds 2 Is Another Xbox-Developed Game Heading To PS5
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@shoeses Oh okay, I thought when they shut down those stores they took away the ability to redownload your purchases. I read that in multiple places, so maybe they backtracked like Sony did.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
I think I we should all file a class action lawsuit, not to really get any money out of it, but to get our purchases back at least and to bring awareness so everyone else can participate and maybe they'll stop doing this. Power in numbers. People and companies seem to forget that we are the ones that control things. A company only exists to sell us what we want and if they're not selling us what we want, they have no reason to exist.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@Major_Player That was the one I forgot, the PS Vita. I haven't had a PlayStation product in a while but I do remember it being a mess trying to find my downloads. It's like they do it on purpose. There's no reason it should be so difficult and disorganized to download your purchases. I 100% guarantee you isn't that way on their side.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@Major_Player And what about all of the other digital stores that have closed and took your purchases with it, like the Wii, the DS and the Wii U. Didn't they do that with the PlayStation 3 but backtracked on it or something?

Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@MaseSco those are probably not showing up because they're not backwards compatible. Get an actual Xbox 360 and see if you can download them on that.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@ChopperCampbell Me too. I have a very extensive and detailed Excel sheet that keeps track of all my physical and digital games.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@Major_Player You can see all of your purchase history on your Microsoft account.
Re: Xbox User Insists Some Owned Games Are Being Hidden From Players' Libraries
@abe_hikura Sue them and call your bank to remove the charge.
Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire
What if, maybe, the reviewer was, maybe, smoking some of the, I don't know, rock variety while he was writing this review. All just speculation, but completely plausible.
Re: As Xbox Expands Its Reach, Former PlayStation Boss Talks About The Viability Of Consoles
@Battlefieldmedic I don't think Xbox is struggling. I think they're just trying different things, attempting to evolve gaming.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Xbox In 2025?
Re: Random: Xbox Employee Causes A Stir With Lighthearted PS5 Pro Joke On Twitter
Re: Talking Point: What Other Xbox Games Do You Want Patched To 60FPS?
How about all of them, and while they're at it make whatever they can 120 FPS.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Xbox In 2025?
@JokerBoy322 Maybe keep your Series X so you don't have to deal with the nonsense that is Sony and it's ecosystem, that allows your games to just disappear and oh well thanks for the money.
