@Phantasystar77 You seem to comprehend all of the things you speak of, but somehow fail to apply any of it to your own statements. People tend to not respond to things that are false and don't matter. They sure would be busy and not get anything else done if all they did was respond to rumors. Have fun with your paranoid lifestyle. I bet you're a guilty until proven innocent type of guy aren't you?
I'll post the same comment I did in the other article. Why would Microsoft even bother reacting or responding to false information? Rumors happen constantly and companies rarely respond to or acknowledge them. Why is this situation any different? I find your expectation odd. I also don't understand why people are panicking and acting without knowledge. Has the human race still not evolved beyond that? Sad.

Why is everyone reacting to rumors and speculation? It makes no sense to me. I've seen over 20 videos on YouTube today about all of this and all I can wonder is how those people wasted so much of their life making those videos that mean absolutely nothing.

I'm going back and forth whether to get this or not. I have the wingman XB2. That allows me to use my Series X and Elite 2 controllers on the OG Xbox AND Xbox 360, so I can use the same controller on all platforms. It is very tempting though.
@lokozar Because 1. They are supposed to have less latency and 2. They probably don't want to pay for the wireless license from Microsoft. Actually, I'm not sure Microsoft even licenses the wireless technology for controllers. It might be just for headsets.
I've been live streaming now that I got my new capture card dialed in. I'm playing through Peter Jackson's King Kong for Xbox 360 on the Series X and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla - Dawn of Ragnarok. Sundays (today) are my days to play a mixture of racing and multiplayer games, so I'll probably be playing any combination on Forza games, Halo Infinite, The Elder Scrolls Online and The Division 2. Ill be live steaming later today.
Between all Xbox generations, I have about 600 physical games, all complete in box as well. If I include digital, I have over 1100. Most of my digital games are from games with gold and the ones that are not, a good amount of them are duplicates of my physical games.
I've been playing it since release in 2013 or 2014 and it has changed and grown so much. I do multiplayer stuff sometimes, but I mostly just do quests. I keep buying the expansions is why I'm still playing it and the reason I keep buying the expansions is because they put them on sale every year really cheap. So I guess it's going to be an endless cycle.
@NoLifeDGenerate I do agree with your last sentence. I would be a lot more confident in the digital only future if that situation got corrected. As well as ensure that we do not lose access to our digital purchases.
@NoLifeDGenerate Oh, I figured you out. You are a Ubisoft employee or maybe it's even bigger than that, maybe you're a plant from all of the major media companies trying to brainwash us to make us think there's something wrong with physical media, because you sure are against it for some reason. The only people I know that against physical media as much as you are, are all the companies trying to make it go away.
@NoLifeDGenerate I know how home console works. That's why I said what I said. If you are using a secondary account because of "trolls/hackers" and you want to play on a console that isn't your home console, you have to sign in with two accounts at one time to be able to play your games. I am very well versed in how digital licensing works.
@NoLifeDGenerate So, I guess you have to sign in with 2 accounts every time, especially when you use different devices. Seems like a pain in the ass. I don't have trolls/hackers messing with me to have to do any of that. You are starting to sound like the Donald Trump of gaming.
@NoLifeDGenerate I find it hilarious that you think your digital library is for keeps. Sony and Nintendo have already taken away entire digital libraries on multiple platforms each. It has also happened to me with Sony with my PlayStation 3 library. They console banned my PS3, removed all of my purchases and told me tough luck when they accused me of violating the terms of service by talking Schit on game chat. I did not have a mic, never used game chat, didn't send any messages and they admitted that they couldn't see or hear what actually happened. They gave me no option to appeal the decision, the decision was made before they even contacted me and they told me, "oh well, deal with it" basically. I had well over $1000 in purchases and my console was permanently useless online. So, what was that you were saying again about digital libraries being for keeps? I'm not the only one that has happened to obviously and that was years ago. And how can you say that when you are well aware of what Sony just pulled with the purchased TV shows? I bet you are one to partake in the "Kool Aid".
I don't know how I keep forgetting this. Digital games don't allow you to sell, trade, loan or borrow. They need to fix that as well. More proof that they are rentals and not purchases.
If things go all digital next generation, I will not be participating. With 2 exceptions, if they pass legislation giving us ownership of digitally purchased content and I will purchase digital only games if they are extremely discounted like I do now. I will never ever pay full price for a digital only game. I rarely pay full price for a physical game.
@NoLifeDGenerate yeah I get that, what they started doing was only including one disc and make us download the rest of it that is beyond the capacity of one disc. I don't know why they stopped including more than one disc that included the entire game. I understand they have day one patches and updates and whatnot, but they also stopped releasing complete editions or Game of the Year editions or whatever that included all of the patches and DLC on the discs. How hard is it to throw an extra disc in there and include the entire game? Also, they need to get out of the habit of printing discs before they are complete. The world can wait for a finished product. The plastic hoarders will have something to play when these companies decide to either deny access to purchased content or shut things down. Or even worse, if the internet structure fails in some way.
@ZuneTattooGuy That is exactly what that means. If they are still printing physical media and releasing new content on physical media, the medium is not dead. On its way out and dead mean two completely different things. I agree that physical media is probably on its way out.
@PhileasFragg I'm talking about them taking away purchases because they want to, not because they're shutting down access to a game because of whatever reason. I'm talking about Sony denying you access to your purchases and/or removing them from your account for whatever reason. They have done it with games on people's accounts. They have permanently banned people from the PlayStation Network, shut down their account and taken away all of their purchases permanently. It's only a matter of time before they do with games exactly what they did with the movies recently and just decide to not have them on the servers anymore so they remove them from people's accounts. Not just Sony either, all of the companies can do this and probably will do this in the future.
@PhileasFragg I was just talking about Sony taking away digital purchases in general. Recently they were taking away purchased TV content and in the past they've done the same thing with TV content, movies and music. They take away digital purchased games if you get in trouble on the PlayStation Network and it's only a matter of time before they start taking away purchased games from users libraries for the same reasons they were taking away the other content. It's all rented and they can take it away anytime they want. Digital purchases are not ownership. They need to pass laws that give us digital ownership rights and get the companies to ensure the content is going to be available for a very long time if not forever.
I wonder why my old ass original Xbox and Xbox 360 controllers have not gotten stick drift after all this time and all of my Xbox One and Series X controllers have. I have about 10 of each.
@PhileasFragg Until a digital store revokes your license because they feel like it....cough...cough... PlayStation....cough. At least with the disc, you choose when you get rid of it.
@Kaloudz I also just realized by doing that and setting to where it ONLY uploads to OneDrive you would avoid any kind of potential ban like what's happening with baldur's gate because it would never go to the Xbox network.
This bull$h!t, right after Microsoft is trying to tell me that my controller that came with my series x is not covered under the Microsoft Complete Xbox extened warranty. It says that it is on the main page of the website as well as in my actual warranty document. It is called complete after all. I guess I just gotta keep calling until sometime knows what they are doing. Anyways, I have my screenshots upload to OneDrive only. I was so happy when they added that feature.
Im gonna be playing North Pole Slaughter. Here is the description from the developer: Santa gets an LSD laced wish list letter and quickly finds out, he "can't handle his high". He goes on a halucenagenic rampage slaughtering the elves, the reindeer, even Mrs. Claus, as well any other unsuspecting innocent creature that dares to cross his path. Little does he know, a yeti has been watching and doesn't like what he sees. Prepare for an epic battle between a trippin' ballz Santa and pissed off yeti to satisy your holiday gaming needs.
I have a copy that was still sealed until a few weeks ago. I had a small collection of sealed games and decided to open them all and play them because I just don't feel right owning something that I don't use. So I decided to use them instead of getting rid of them. I don't think it was worth very much.
@eire-shabba You can if you stream from your console located elsewhere, which is technically cloud gaming and your own Xbox is the server. I get what you are saying though, I wish it was that way too and it might be at some point when they get it perfected.
@Dan1283 I guess you won't be participating in modern gaming in 3 to 5 years. It's ok, I'm right there with you. Even though I've been playing some cloud gaming lately, because I'm visiting my mom and she only has a One X. I've been playing some Series X only games on it and it works surprisingly well. I actually forgot I was using cloud gaming a few times.
