Re: Microsoft CEO Comments On Xbox's New PlayStation Store Success

ZYDIO

@Kooky_Geezer Exclusives aren't the only reason people buy a specific console. I personally buy a console because I like the hardware, ecosystem and simplicity, among a bunch of other things. Exclusive games rarely have anything to do with my hardware purchasing decision. How can you say they don't care about Xbox users anymore? Are they taking something away from us? I could understand what you're saying if they released games on every platform except their own Xbox platform, but all they are doing is expanding where they sell their products. They are a business that is their job, it is their job to sell their products to as many people as possible in as many places as possible. It is their job to make as much money as possible. It has nothing to do with loyalty. It's getting really old hearing schit like this from people like you. They are trying to bring as many games to as many people on as many platforms as possible. Explain to me how that is a bad thing? I've been playing video games for over 40 years and I've been waiting all that time to see what's happening now, happen. I'm tired of different hardware from different companies having specific games. What is wrong with the games being everywhere possible? That's one of the problems PC people have with console people, that kind of exclusive nonsense mentality. If you want to talk about lack of loyalty, go look at PlayStation and how they are alienating their entire customer base and stealing from them.

Re: Talking Point: Almost A Year On, What Do You Think Of The Current Xbox Dashboard?

ZYDIO

The whole FU©K!NG thing is a game pass ad! They took away my groups and replaced them with ads! I didn't realize that I'm still pissed off about this until I read this article. I did some research on this. I have figured out that legally, we can charge Microsoft or any company for that matter, for advertising space on our screens. We can send them a contract asking for absurd amounts of money. I am asking for $10,000 per pixel per frame per second for example. If they do not respond or agree to said contract, which they won't, you can get a cease and desist order from a judge to force them to remove the ads. You can also claim that they changed your contract without your knowledge or consent. Contrary to popular belief, hitting an agree button is not legally binding because they cannot prove who who clicked the button, plus there is no disagree button. It's a funny trick they try to pull with that, they try to force you to agree to a new contract or deny your access to your device and content and that is illegal as well. If you have a contract with them that grants you access to a device and content they cannot take away access and content because you do not agree to a new contract. Both sides are still bound by the current contract. I found out they had to change the terms of service to allow the dashboard to contain ads and I never agreed to it. Also even if someone agrees to it they can always change their mind at any time and send Microsoft a letter in writing stating such and then at that time they will be legally required to remove the ads. I say everyone do this so these companies cannot take over our devices and get free advertising space in our homes. I think everyone should demand absurd amounts of money for advertising space on our TV screens in our private homes. Maybe then they will stop doing this or maybe everyone will get paid if we present them with a reasonable offer. Rant over.

@NEStalgia it is very interesting times in the video game industry. Just when I was thought it was going downhill enough for me to not really exit gaming, but exit new gaming on console, it seems like things are turning around a little bit. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. I still think I made a good decision to buy two more Series X when they were dirt cheap to prepare for the all digital console refresh. I really hope if they go all digital with the next Xbox that they at least have a Blu-ray attachment drive.

@BleedingDreamer You can't get your Microsoft account banned for saying something Microsoft doesn't like. I think party chats are the same way. I think only in game chats are monitored. Plus, I think Discord is multi-platform, so you can communicate with people no matter what they are using.

Re: Time Is Running Out For Hundreds Of Games On The Xbox 360 Store

ZYDIO

I use my Xbox 360 all the time. I have so many games for it it's not even funny. That's why I have six fully refurbished units. I have three matte S, 2 glossy S, and an E. I have a few more for parts as well and I plan on getting another E, I just need to find one that's not all scratched up.

Re: Xbox Establishes New Team Dedicated To 'Game Preservation And Forward Compatibility'

@Feffster I'm guessing they are going to do something similar to steam's big picture mode but with the Xbox interface on Windows and maybe even allow PC games to play as well as Xbox games. I think down the line they will be one in the same. Xbox games will just be PC games with certain profiles for Xbox branded PC hardware. PC games already have automatic benchmarking on some of them and tell you what settings to put them at as well as the Nvidia game ready stuff. I can't imagine it would be very hard for them to do something similar for specific Xbox branded PC hardware.

I just thought of something else, they may get out of hardware altogether and just tell PC manufacturers what specifications to make for certain tiers of Xbox profiles and sell them as certain tiers of Xbox PC. That would make it a lot easier on Microsoft and they could focus on software.

Re: Xbox Establishes New Team Dedicated To 'Game Preservation And Forward Compatibility'

@101Force I really think that's where it's going. The developers should love it because it's less versions of a game they have to develop. It will eliminate the problem we have with the Series S and Series X. They will just do what they've been doing on PC all this time. Especially if they decide to come out with different tiers of hardware which would actually work very well in that scenario. Maybe the Series S and X are just the precursors to that, to get people used to it.

Re: Xbox Establishes New Team Dedicated To 'Game Preservation And Forward Compatibility'

ZYDIO

@Grumblevolcano I get what you're saying, but it's almost been 20 years and most of the games you can get on the new Xbox storefront and still play them on your Xbox 360. They need to bring the rest of the games over to the new storefront. Also, even with the store closed you will still be able to download your previously purchased content unlike PlayStation and Nintendo digital stores.

@BleedingDreamer Original Xbox's aren't hard to find or expensive. Get one of those pound HDMI adapters that is also readily available and inexpensive and probably the best one out of the easily available and affordable ones. Then get a wingman XB2 to use Series X controllers with it. That's all you really need to play original Xbox on original hardware in a modern way.
