@Kaloudz I can't say I have ever heard of that, but yes I think it was absolutely amazing for the time. My friends would come over and be confused as to what it was. All of them still had PlayStation 1 or Nintendo 64 and when I would turn it on they would be amazed by the entire thing. They about had heart attacks and fell over dead when I showed them I could play online.
@Kaloudz I had a Dreamcast for a long time and a ton of games for it. I had it put up because I didn't play it very much. I had a friend that needed some entertainment for his children and didn't have a lot of money to spend at the time, so I gave him the Dreamcast and all the games. I regret my decision as well. I don't think they took very good care of it either.
@Kaloudz That's one thing I consider myself, at least a little bit crazy, but in a good way. Yeah, I became a collector inadvertently. I just never sell my games because it takes a lot of effort to get money out of them. I buy them, play them and keep them forever. Unless it's a game I don't like, then I get rid of it. The collecting has increased quite a bit since I decided to leave the country. Now I'm doing it on purpose. I've been buying consoles and controllers to refurbish and then I pack them up for use when my current one breaks and I have a few for parts. I have quite a few original Xboxes and Xbox 360's that I have put back now and I may get another Series X before I leave, but that's just because of availability and price as it's not as important because of the backwards compatibility. As long as the new consoles that come out have the same backwards compatibility then I just get the newest console and I'm good.
@Kaloudz Me too, I really like this community. Even if I did get rid of all my Xbox games, I more than likely would have stuck around anyway. It's funny because in the last two days I've added about 30 disc games to my collection. I have been buying them up quite a bit lately, because I will be relocating to a different part of the world at some point and I don't think they have very much Xbox stuff there. Plus I've noticed just in my area that disc games are going up in price quite a bit lately and the older games are getting a lot harder to find complete and in good condition.
@Cashews I don't know about that. Microsoft still has the 360 store open and doesnt plan on closing it anytime soon. I'm not 100% sure how they handled it, but I'm guessing it's because they integrated it into their newer system. So the 360 store is actually part of the new store somehow and they can keep it going like that forever. It will just be part of one big store that gets maintained as one entity. Also the fact that they still sell all of those games and sell original Xbox games is something that no one else is doing except for on the PC side. The PlayStation 3 and the Wii have shut down their stores, while the 360 store is still going strong. That says to me that Microsoft is supporting the older hardware better than the other companies.
I have not received the update either. I know this is probably not the case, but I thought maybe Microsoft saw all of my complaining and decided to hold off updating my consoles. Haha. I wonder of maybe Microsoft is holding off updating any more consoles because of the backlash. I'm just speculating.
@Cashews I guess I have been misinformed, or more like I misunderstood what I read or saw. I thought when they closed down the eshops for the Wii, the Wii U and the 3DS they were saying that everyone needed to download their purchases before a certain date or they wouldn't be able to. If that's not the case and it is just shut down for current purchases, that is completely different. I really don't know why they would shut them down. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would still be purchasing games on those eshops. That does make me feel a little bit better about Nintendo, because I thought they were just following what Sony was doing by shutting down the stores completely and not allowing people to download their purchases after that happened. Speaking of Sony, why are they the only ones doing that, yet everyone keeps buying their stuff? I just can't, in good consciousness, purchase anything from Sony knowing that they can and most likely will just take it away at any time. That has happened to me in the past by Sony for different reasons.
@Kaloudz I am probably not going to do what I said I was going to do. I got it out of my system, I said my piece and the main purpose of it was to add to the discontent that everyone else was stating. I just like to crank things up to 11. I'm either 1 or 11, no in between. My statements were completely true and accurate and my emotion about the situation is genuine. I feel very strongly about things. I just hope that it does some kind of good. I really sat and thought about all the work I would have to do to get rid of this stuff and I decided to be lazy, plus I really don't want to get rid of all the stuff. I wouldn't have it if I wanted to get rid of it so easily. I really feel that there may be a day that I actually do it because they will give me no other option. I hope it never comes to that though. This isn't my first rodeo. I did it with all of my Sony products and Playstation stuff when they stole from me and I did it with all of my Apple products after working for them and finding out what a crooked company it is. I have worked for Microsoft as well and that's one of the reasons I stick with Xbox because of my experience working for them.
@Cashews I would agree with you but they have a habit of closing down their Eshops and then you can no longer download your purchases, the same as Sony has done with their older generation hardware. Microsoft and Xbox seem to be the only ones not doing that and is one of the reasons I have stuck with them because they seem to be the most consumer friendly. Maybe I am overreacting a little bit, I just look to the future when I see something happening now and that's what I react to. I can't stand Nintendo's hardware either, it's old, slow and their controllers suck and don't fit my hands. The Pro controller for the switch would probably work, but if I had one I'd want to use it mobile. I tried it and it just does not work for me. I would like to like the Nintendo switch but I don't really care for hardly any of their games either.
@GarbonZoni I don't think I could actually part with my Xbox collection. I got the original Xbox on day one and also have every generation of Xbox since then. So I've been collecting the games and the consoles for over 20 years and I put a lot of work into doing that, so I might not just walk away so easily. I, Also have been gaming pretty much since the beginning as well. I remember having to put color overlays on the screen to make it a different game. I remember controllers being ungodly uncomfortable and only having one button. I also remember the days of when you bought a game it was finished and fun, they never asked you for any more money and they would never take it away from you and last but not least you were the customer that determined the success of their company. I will say this though, I am definitely going to reduce my spending with Microsoft until I feel like I am the customer again. I already decided that I will not buy the next generation of consoles if they do not include disk drives, even though the game being on disc doesn't mean much anymore, it still means they cannot deny me access to my license as long as I have that disc. I will say this though, if they keep going down this road, there will be a point where I will actually walk away. So Microsoft if you're listening, take this as a warning. I'll say it again, I am not brand loyal, I am brand tolerant.
With that being said, to answer the question that the thread is about.
I am playing through Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order again before I play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor both on Series X and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger for the Xbox 360 but playing it on Series X. I have played through the entire series of Call of Juarez and this is the last game. I have enjoyed all four games even the Cartel game that people seem to dislike. I was actually on Xbox strike for a few days but I guess I'll start playing them again.
@AlwaysPlaying Well, I haven't done anything yet. I feel that I needed to voice my discontent and I do feel a little better now, ha. Hopefully, if enough people do the same, Microsoft will listen. If Everyone, including myself, do nothing, that is how we get in this situation in the first place. I love playing video games, it's one of my favorite things to do, but I will always stand up for what I believe is right no matter the inconvenience or cost. "No" is very powerful.
@Cashews @Kaloudz @Wiiiiiiii It's not just the dashboard that I am reacting to. It's a completley broken and disfunctional industry that I have had enough of. They keep throwing sshhiitt at a Teflon wall and nothing is sticking, it's just sliding down the wall. Now the sshhiitt is just piling up and the pile is getting too big to clean up. The solution is to stop throwing sshhiitt and they just don't get it, because they are blinded by greed. From what I understand, the Insiders told Microsoft for months and months that this was a bad idea, that no one liked it, this is not what the customers want and they did it anyway. This is just one result of many that shows the problem with the gaming industry. The people who make decisions are so out of touch with what the customers want. I don't expect a company to do what I want all of the time, but when they have dedicated feedback groups that exist for that exact purpose, so they can bring the customer what they want and then they go against that feedback 100%, That's when I have a problem. On top of that, they removed features that already existed and removed options to customize and are now forcing unremovable advertising for products that I have no interest in. Additionally, all of the constant unfinished, broken games that are released and the constant anti-consumer decisions they keep making, is the reason I want nothing to do with any of it anymore. I don't want to think about any of these things when I turn on my Xbox just to play a game or watch a movie. It seems like the entire gaming industry is broken and it's never going to change unless the customers take action and say enough is enough. All of this, with the push for all digital media and eventually becoming 100% subscription to where there is no ownership is not something I'm interested in participating in. All I'm asking for is a nonsoliciting, non-harassing user experience with my device and for quality finished games to be produced. I really don't think I'm being unreasonable here. The moment that that changes and I feel like I am no longer the customer and I have become the product is the moment that I walk away. Everyone keeps saying let's see if Microsoft redeems themselves by backtracking and changing it back or whatever. That's not the solution. How many times have they done this now? They're just going to keep throwing sshhiitt at the wall and see what sticks and they still haven't realized the wall is Teflon.
@RadioHedgeFund Unobtrusive until now and unobtrusive being the key word. They have completely hijacked the user experience with ads. It is completely unacceptable. First thing in the morning I'm taking my entire Xbox collection to a collector and he's probably going to buy it from me, so I'm done. I will not do business with a company that secretly converts me from a customer to a product. Anyone that is okay with this should be ashamed of themselves and is part of the problem.
@RadioHedgeFund Just wait until they start introducing unskippable video ads before you can do anything. Unskippable video ad when you turn on the console, then an unskippable video ad when you want to play a game, then another unskippable video ad during the loading screen that doesn't really exist because we have SSD. Then unskippable video ads every 30 minutes because it thinks you need to take a break. Oh and don't forget about there being an obnoxious amount of advertisements in game on every single possible thing they can think of. As well as the entire UI being filled with ads and somewhere buried in there will be the actual UI that we can do stuff with. If we don't stop it now, that will be the future. So yes, it may seem like an overreaction now but it will be the appropriate and common reaction when that is the reality.
@TheSimulator I think all you do is change your background to default. Then when you highlight a tile with the game, it will change the background to that game.
Edit: Somebody beat me to it before I realized it.
@Cashews I'm in the same boat, I'm about to ditch the Xbox ecosystem and sell off all 400 of my physical Xbox games and about 15 Xbox consoles from all generations, as well as sell my Microsoft account that has all my digital purchases, that has about 500 games. I am the customer, not the product. This ***** is getting ridiculous. Forcing me to see things that I have no interest in and then removing the option to remove or customize is where I draw the line. I say this over and over, but if I pay full retail price for something, I will not look at ads.
I wonder how many people know that you can send Microsoft a bill for the advertising space on your TV screen. If they don't agree to your terms, they have to remove it. Send them a bill for some insane amount of money, like $1 million per day per square inch. If enough people did that, I'm sure those ads would disappear very quickly for everyone.
@Wardstone234 2nd to last paragraph of the article.
Although this big switch will mark the end of the GWG program, Microsoft will be introducing a new perk for Game Pass Core members. From September when the new Game Pass tier goes live, Xbox Game Pass Core will be getting its own library of titles, to be expanded "2-3 times a year".
@NoCode23 The different plans are not in a hierarchy from low to high. They offer different things at different prices. The more expensive one will not necessarily include everything the one before included and then some. They wrote it out as plain as day for anyone to compare. I don't see why anyone is having a problem.
@themcnoisy Dude........ It's just video games. Also, anything worth having costs something and you should never expect anything for free. I personally, am perfectly fine with paying a fair price for anything I have or want. If you want a quality online experience you have to pay for it.
@ChromeMud If you want to play online and have gamepass you have to get the core and the console subscriptions. The console subscription is just Game Pass and the core subscription is just Live Gold. So nothing has changed, just the names, and instead of having to claim two games a month with Live Gold you just have 25 any given time. That's my understanding of it. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. So basically if you want to play online only, you get the core and if you want to play online and have Game Pass you get ultimate.
I'm going to have to disagree with all of you and go with Redfall. That game just blew my mind in every way possible. Absolute next gen masterpiece. I'm going to be telling my grandchildren about that one. I'm going to find a way to keep the Xbox Series X running all those years until they can actually play it for themselves. It's just that damn good. I cannot wait for Redfall 2.
Actually, I play it every other day. I alternate between 2 games. Usually a long game and a short game. I don't play anything on Sundays most of the time. So I am really only playing it 3 times a week for about 5 hours at a time on average. I was joking about taking off for a full year to play it, but I do have 7 months in it. I started it on New Years Eve. I think I have about 230 hours in it.
Of course, I'm currently on month 7 of the one year I put aside to play through Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and all of its DLC. Good thing I'm the boss or I'd probably be fired by now.
@EvenStephen7 You are very welcome and here are a few links to the different styles of bluetooth adapters. I don't know if these are the most up-to-date versions but it's easy to find them.
KZ HD Bluetooth V5.0 Headphone/Earphone Wireless Cable with Microphone Replacement for (C PIN (KZ-ZSN/ZSNpro/AS16/ZS10pro)) https://a.co/d/j3leK11
KZ AZ09 PRO Bluetooth 5.2 Module IEM Bluetooth Adapter Waterproof Ear Hook Extra Long Battery Life Bluetooth Cable for KZ ZS10 PRO/ZSN Pro X/ZSN PRO/ZEX PRO/AS16/ZAX/DQ6 /CCA CA16 /C12/CRA(C pin) https://a.co/d/a7t2xK2
@EvenStephen7 Yes this is the current model I use for gaming. Best bang for the buck for sure. I also use them for watching movies on my Xbox and I use them for music too sometimes, but only because usually when I'm listening to music I need wireless, so I use my Bluetooth IEM's. Speaking of Bluetooth, there are actually a few different options for converting these to Bluetooth IEM's as well. With these IEM's you probably won't have to go down the rabbit hole of trying 50 different ones. These work well for most people, but the rabbit hole is always there.
I want to add this separately, but I have heard through various sources that some IEM's costing hundreds or even thousands of dollars don't sound as good as these. I absolutely agree with those opinions as well. I don't know how they are selling these at this price but they are on to something.

I am the customer, not the product. This ***** is getting ridiculous. Forcing me to see things that I have no interest in and then removing the option to remove or customize is where I draw the line. I say this over and over, but if I pay full retail price for something, I will not look at ads.
Re: Xbox Games With Gold For August 2023 Announced
@awp69 Because most people these days are ungrateful little bitches.
Re: Xbox Games With Gold For August 2023 Announced
@Dan1283 What is garbage? Did you really mean to say, " I don't like these games"?
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of The New Xbox Home Experience?
I wonder how many people know that you can send Microsoft a bill for the advertising space on your TV screen. If they don't agree to your terms, they have to remove it. Send them a bill for some insane amount of money, like $1 million per day per square inch. If enough people did that, I'm sure those ads would disappear very quickly for everyone.
Re: Hands On With Antstream Arcade: Xbox's Massive New Retro Gaming Collection
@RadioHedgeFund I was thinking the same thing and that may be what they're doing so there will be no lag.
Re: Xbox Exec 'Gets Chills' From The Moment Phil Spencer Revealed Backwards Compatibility
Why hasn't Microsoft made all games they own backward compatible? If they have and I'm not aware of it, please correct me.
Re: Xbox Exec 'Gets Chills' From The Moment Phil Spencer Revealed Backwards Compatibility
@InfamousOrange The backwards compatibility is the same on Xbox One and Series X as far as Xbox 360 and original Xbox games are concerned.

Re: Xbox's New Game Pass Tiers Are Causing Confusion Around Online Multiplayer
@elpardo1984 That's about as simple as you can make it. If people don't understand that, then they never will.
Re: Xbox's New Game Pass Tiers Are Causing Confusion Around Online Multiplayer
@Lurkes Who or what is stopping you from using what you bought?
Re: Xbox Explains How Games With Gold Titles Carry Over To Game Pass Core
@InterceptorAlpha If you pay monthly. It has the same deal if you pay yearly, as Xbox Live Gold. $59.99 for a year of Game Pass core.
Re: Xbox Explains How Games With Gold Titles Carry Over To Game Pass Core
@Wardstone234 2nd to last paragraph of the article.
Although this big switch will mark the end of the GWG program, Microsoft will be introducing a new perk for Game Pass Core members. From September when the new Game Pass tier goes live, Xbox Game Pass Core will be getting its own library of titles, to be expanded "2-3 times a year".
Re: Xbox's New Game Pass Tiers Are Causing Confusion Around Online Multiplayer
@NoCode23 The different plans are not in a hierarchy from low to high. They offer different things at different prices. The more expensive one will not necessarily include everything the one before included and then some. They wrote it out as plain as day for anyone to compare. I don't see why anyone is having a problem.

Re: Reaction: Game Pass Core Marks The End Of Xbox's Most Influential Product
@themcnoisy Dude........ It's just video games. Also, anything worth having costs something and you should never expect anything for free. I personally, am perfectly fine with paying a fair price for anything I have or want. If you want a quality online experience you have to pay for it.
Re: Microsoft Confirms Xbox Live Gold Is Being Replaced This September
@ChromeMud If you want to play online and have gamepass you have to get the core and the console subscriptions. The console subscription is just Game Pass and the core subscription is just Live Gold. So nothing has changed, just the names, and instead of having to claim two games a month with Live Gold you just have 25 any given time. That's my understanding of it. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong. So basically if you want to play online only, you get the core and if you want to play online and have Game Pass you get ultimate.
Re: Xbox's 'Biggest Content Drop In History' Sees Over 1400 Retro Games Arrive Next Week
Oh no !?!?!?! Retro games are the worst type of games for cloud streaming. Any latency at all ruins them and makes them virtually unplayable.

@slatyatpion Not yet, but I wonder if it will be once the acquisition goes through.
Re: Talking Point: Are These The Top Xbox Games Of 2023 So Far?
So is Diablo 4 really that good? I just started it yesterday.
Re: Talking Point: Are These The Top Xbox Games Of 2023 So Far?
I'm going to have to disagree with all of you and go with Redfall. That game just blew my mind in every way possible. Absolute next gen masterpiece. I'm going to be telling my grandchildren about that one. I'm going to find a way to keep the Xbox Series X running all those years until they can actually play it for themselves. It's just that damn good. I cannot wait for Redfall 2.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Taken A 'Day Off' For Something Xbox Related?
@Kienda It is pretty good, I had no idea it was gonna take this long, but I'm gonna see it through.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Taken A 'Day Off' For Something Xbox Related?
Actually, I play it every other day. I alternate between 2 games. Usually a long game and a short game. I don't play anything on Sundays most of the time. So I am really only playing it 3 times a week for about 5 hours at a time on average. I was joking about taking off for a full year to play it, but I do have 7 months in it. I started it on New Years Eve. I think I have about 230 hours in it.
Re: Talking Point: Have You Ever Taken A 'Day Off' For Something Xbox Related?
Of course, I'm currently on month 7 of the one year I put aside to play through Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and all of its DLC. Good thing I'm the boss or I'd probably be fired by now.

Re: Xbox Wireless Headset Receives Massive 50% Discount At Walmart
@Cashews Fair enough, that is very considerate of you. BTW, just curious as to what products you use to make your ears juicy.
Re: Xbox Wireless Headset Receives Massive 50% Discount At Walmart
