Was average. Maybe slightly ahead of the last Xbox one. Both probably 6 out of 10. It’s gonna be a slow year for me.

Hoping for some shadow drops or unexpected 3rd party titles.

It’s a bad look. Those saying “this is expected” could you be more preprogrammed but the richest 5% the rich 5% have double their wealth in the last few years. Whilst the rest have shrunk their wealth.

This isn’t needed and the richest will still make record profits.

@trev666 that’s not how it works in a gamepass model. Games need to make players play them over a long period. Gone are the days they expect players to binge a game in a weekend and move on.

Guys like this Twitter that’s quoted defending this are the worst thing about gaming. Large businesses are always terrible and make decisions that make no sense. It’s why we must call them out. Demand better and more. The constant apologists…. They have no excuse. They get no profits. They just defend defend defend blindly. Never defend a company blindly like you are on a “team” remember you are a customer and not a “fan” demand more and don’t be offended if others want more or better.

The Xbox community used to be my fave. Last few years more and more it’s become toxic. Luckily loads of people here and otherwise are still awesome.

Just don’t take criticism of a company personally. Don’t believe in console wars or culture wars.

If you don’t think it’s a big deal that’s fine but it might be to others.

If you read the comments on this site it often paints us Xbox owners as slightly unhinged.

It’s nice to see that it’s a vocal minority with their crazy “us” and “we” comments and the majority seem to lean towards sensible comments like yours

I really dislike tweets like that. Just flames the pretend “console war” for a lowest common dominator that loves that sort of nonsense.

Also as others have pointed out it’s not really a brag at 13.99 a month. If it was a £70 game it’s more of a brag

@AverageGamer you are missing the point. NES games are 40 years old and people still play them. There is no need for the solo player mode to vanish

Need to check which I have on disk and which digital as I’ll pick a few of these up if it’s the disk versions I have

@FraserG cheers mate. At least that’s something. That F1 kart game is actually half decent. I was 90% sure it was playable without internet connect but these days you never know.

Crew should be playable offline. Simple. Most people played it like an offline game. Are any others on the list becoming unplayable offline?

@theduckofdeath the more you play it you get used to it. But it’s not a “good feature” - can you turn off the level up alerts in race? I’d rather just know at the end?

Like most games these days you might be able to skip the grind stuff like the practise but it was a silly design choice. It’s like in Horizon 5 you can ignore the live stuff and Forzathon things but so much cool stuff is tied into it. I’m just not a fan of all that. Horizon 3 and MS 7 both got Forzathon right. They were fun and achievable

Unfortunately there are so many people that call any one that says stuff that’s annoying or they don’t like “outraged” - Forza MS was my hope for the Game of the Generation so far….. on the track it’s solid. F MS 7 was 10 out of 10 on track so it’s no surprise.

So many other decisions hold the game back. The forced practise stuff. The bizarre pick your own place on the grid for more rewards. The level each car up thing. It’s all a very grind heavy design.

I played it for a couple of hours and just didn’t feel engaged. I wondered if I was just not in the mood so I booted up Forza 7 and had a ball and way more fun straight away.

I’m a solo player only. I would imagine there is nothing to moan about on multiplayer (on Xbox) coz the game looks and plays great. It’s just some of the design/mode choices holding it back and for me not making me want to play it.

Gran Turismo had a terrible terrible solo player menu system thing. This is better but the grind is just too much and in several forms.

Often modern games think “grind” is the same as longevity but it’s really not. Fun is longevity.

I’m not “outraged”….. at all. I’ll dip in and out of it and hopefully they’ll tweak things. Just not the clear GOTY it should have been.

@PhileasFragg the only license it’s lost is pretty much the word “FIFA” all the clubs and players stadiums and kits will be present.

The also will have to call the World Cup the world trophy or something but again have licenses for all the national teams. People that buy fifa will still buy EA football.

@LoquaciousB people on here say I’m anti Xbox but they just don’t read my posts. I agree I think even up to £240 a year would be insane value tbh. Especially with the mergers and future game schedule. You just have to use it right and not be buying games on top. There is plenty on there. The main way to get the best value is to only own Xbox. That’s not a joke.

If you only own an Xbox and play it daily and love to try new games it’s crackers.

If you like niche games. It might not be the same.

I literally spent 200 hours plus on a game which will never come to gamepass where you only turn left. I’m not the proper target market

@LoquaciousB aye. I do the Pc stuff everyday at work but I just don’t game enough these days and I game on a few platforms so there just isn’t the hours in the day and I forget. The Pc stuff alone isn’t anywhere near enough to get it free

@Kaloudz that’s cool then. I don’t think they’ll change rewards anyway. To get a completly free sub you have to put in some hours, it’s not like loads of people can be doing it.

@Ooccoo_Jr No not at all. But I don’t use it properly. You have to embrace playing from the selection of games and not just play games you’d buy and you have to pretty much stop buying games and play games from this. I have no issue with that as a model but I play too many niche games that’ll never make it on GPU and also I play steam deck, switch and PlayStation. There isn’t enough hours in the day to sustain a sub model value.

That’s ok though. Doesn’t mean for others GPU isn’t good value. At £70/80 games you only need to enjoy three a year I guess.

No problem with the price increase. If you use it right it’s still incredible value. Was always going to happen with Bethesda and Activision deals.

Also GPU is going to start to deliver regular exclusives that was always gonna drive price up

As much as I don’t like GaaS elements you cannot knock the extras they’ve thrown in with this game. I will deffo be taking a look at the story addition

I don’t try and bait anyone. I speak how I feel. Nothing I say is outrageous or offensive.

I am not a “defend Xbox” at all costs. I’m a “expect better from all three”

ninetendo, Sony and Xbox all do things that should drive any gamer crackers at times. It’s been extremely frowned upon to question anything Xbox and that’s both sad and ridiculous.

I don’t need or seek to change anyone’s mind. There are some great posters here who are balanced and sensible even if I don’t agree with them. There are also plenty of “Xbox only” crew that are mentally too invested.

I love my Xbox why would I sell it? And which Xbox? I own 6 different units from the different generations, and about 600 hundred physical games.

I could bore you for hours with my love of the OG Xbox and how strong “only on Xbox” games were. What a beast of a machine.

I’ve been vocally against both the Bethesda and Activision deals because I genuinely think even for Xbox only gamers it’s bad news. It will result in less games overal as three companies worth of games and IPs have to fit it one GPU calendar schedule - nothing in my argument is remotely controversial and it’s a fact.

Before the take overs you could have Halo, Doom and Call of duty all release in the same month. You’d be lucky to get 2 in a year now.

Also I’d rather pay for day one exclusives and get less elements of GaaS than currently we are seeing.

I love my Xbox. It’s a great machine. But their PR and “Xbox defence league” is such a turn off.

When you are the main person for a large company you have to watch what you say. I dont think his words were misconstrued I think others have twisted them to sound better.

At the end of this year I think he could probably say it all again and it sound better, as I believe at that point Xbox will have whacked out 2 9/10 out of 10 games in starfield and Forza. Then you can say, even 10 out of ten games won’t sell consoles if you believe it.

I don’t believe it, I think starfield and Forza will be awesome and sell units. If you are putting games out like that 4 times a year….. the gap closes for real.

It’s been a long gap since Forza H5 which was a cracking game too.

@IronMan30 exactly all the “you don’t understand what in game engine means” no we do and that’s the issue.

It’s still not gameplay and all showcase we saw very little of what games might actually play like. That’s an issue.

@Banjo- I know it’s not time yet. It will be. 3 only went last year didn’t it? Although the last few years are a blur for me it might have been longer. Motorsport 7 has gone? Or is it still up? I’m still sore I never got to play Forza H1 rally expansion. I have everything else Forza.

I notice a lot of the folk saying “not a problem” and saying here comes the faux backlash - didn’t leap to the defence of Gotham Knights. Which was a very decent game that suffered horrendous press due to 30fps. I guess to get the online defence league you need to be Xbox studios these days.

On the FPS - won’t make any difference to me. As long as it plays well

In all fairness Forza will leave the service. Forza unfortunately still get delisted. Usually though they gift the game to anyone that owns it.

I kinda hope they sort it out so Forzas don’t disappear so quick.

Xbox know how to do a showcase and trailer we know this. They are the best in the business by far.

So I strip away the gloss and cinematics and think about gameplay shown and stuff we didn’t already know….

Forza is a big enough game for me I’m happy at whatever else is announced this year.

I have no interest in seeing games that are years away so the promise of all coming very soon games is good.

LOTR is one of the easiest and most video game friendly franchises. How many games could be LOTOR but don’t have the license. Set in a similar generic universe.

We get the odd good one and then awful ones. Ps3 had a decent run of good ones.
