@RTGX honestly his post was Xbox propaganda and trolling. All of them innovate massively. You make lists for all of them and how they’ve impacted others. Including Sega.

Sony for example ps3 era went region free and for me personally that was massive. At the time that was not normal.

Many features - like built in batteries in controllers - are celebrated by some and hated by others.

Disc to digital is something personally I love and all of them should have done years ago.

I’ve been called a “hater” for years but the gamepass model wasn’t sustainable- when they bought Bethesda and Call of Duty and all that it became untenable. People got greedy and wanted more and more on gamepass and it was never ever gonna work and now we are seeing the fallout.

The market share they needed and for them all to take out gamepass and pay for the premium passes and all that was huge. They banked on that and it just didn’t happen. Too many used perks or stacking, cheap codes.

It’s a mess at this point because the disappointment is real that the reality was they couldn’t keep this up

Day one for £20 - got Mindseye for £10 and had 15 hours with it and enjoyed - almost at end and got the dlc stories to do

My experience with streaming is awful. I’ve cancelled my GPU and so the answer is zero.

@Weebleman I wouldn’t bother mate he says things like “companies don’t work like that” he will defend and justify anything, Xbox knew from the start they would charge for this in long run and it was the plan. Hook people to sub and buy devices and then charge more. I’m just not sure people are gonna pay more and more and more. That’s all that seems to be happening here. Charge more for less

@Zenszulu they sold the devices (which I told everyone were not Xboxs) and now if you wanna use it for more than 30 mins a day you have to pay extra. It’s criminal to change it this way IMHO

When I questioned if Activision was a sensible deal and said it would mean less games, high prices for GPU and a worse service people claimed I was a “hater” not a “real fan” (I’m not I’m a real consumer) everything I said would happen has happened.

GPU isn’t even a good deal anymore let’s be brutally honest it went from the best thing in gaming to what it is now.

The hype guys that leap around in every comments section cheerlead on things like Xbox anywhere, action titles filling out GPU etc - almost everything now is now where near what everyone said it would be.

They’ve tried to hook people into these services but I’d be flabbergasted if people willingly pay extra for extra time.

It’s just time to say no.

Sony and Xbox aren’t fighting to be the best. Just least worse. Who can make the most profit driven terrible decisions and still maintain a lead - it used to be who could be the best console with the best features. I miss those days

Ubisoft and Forza games are a shock and tbh hugely disappointing hope it changes

I had no idea it didn’t include BC titles my buzz for this is now greatly diminished. I’m glad you did these FAQs it’s still a cool feature but BC disk to digital would have been HUGE

@Exerion76 this. It’s ridiculous to name the a nightmare scenario….. Litterally millions and millions of things are a worse scenario. Even for rockstar this won’t affect sales at all.

I never understood the appeal but also don’t understand the faux rage either.

Makes me laugh everytime a discussion starts about BC people start with “it’ll never happen due to licenses” - check the BC list so many licensed games. You’ll often find companies like free money from the licenses. It’s why so many old games get “remasters”

As an owner of XSX and a PS5 I absolutely love all this emotional nonsense over exclusives. I have my popcorn and enjoy the meltdowns.

Xbox are intentionally making it vague and allowing themselves to change the rules and do what they want. That’s ok. I don’t really have an issue with what they’ve done or doing.

Once they decided on the ridiculous takeovers they were going to have to make money from somewhere.

The new management team are on a hiding to nothing paying for bad decisions before them.

As long as Xbox studios are making great games that should be enough to allow Xbox to thrive - if games come to ps later or occasionally day one I don’t think it’ll damage the brand really.

I think if they’d not bought Activision like many got really really excited for….. we wouldn’t be having all this and they’d have all their exclusives still. Funny how things don’t always work out how people say or want….. Activision didn’t lead to a load more games on gamepass…. It did lead to price rises and did lead to less exclusives….

Who knew? Oh yeah I did I said all this would happen.

It funny isn’t it that some games are live service but aren’t pushed that way so people don’t call them that. But other games people leap all over for being “live service”

So many analysts and experts here that pivot and change their view and claim they know best and bizarrely constantly Xbox knows best and Xbox aren’t disappointed

Xbox said they aimed for by now well over double this. The proof it’s going back up is just not there. Many people have stacked or buy 12 month or years - so we won’t know for 12 months how many really cancel or plan to cancel: not buy or stack again.

Xbox has a balancing act here…. Not alienate the 30m they have on the hook, attract more and make it more profitable as 70m they wanted is clearly pie in the sky.

Removing COD proves they know this as COD was the work the thought would make it boom and it was never gonna. Many cod players are happy to pay their £80 and just play that.

I wonder how many people are just paying to get online. I would think now that 30m is bottom heavy?!?!? Who knows…. Xbox. 😂

The new CEO is smashing it, Xbox are back, she gets it…. First she made two games exclusive, then she put XBOX in caps, she reduced the price of GPU (but still higher than before in initial crazy hike) and now this massive rise in price.

I never knew about auto drive I’ve played Forza games for literally 100s of hours 😂

Season one of the Forzathon was awesome - could do all the unlocks and get all cars. Season 2 they’ve gone back to how it was before. Inpossible without doing online challenges. So many cars fenced off to online only. Such a shame they ruin their own game with this nonsense

So this continuous loop was about an hour short of the campaign for the last Halo game….. 👀….. what a bizarre decision to give us six hours of this and as usual we have people in the comments section excited….. like honestly? Over a title screen. Xbox could do anything at this point and get praise 😂

The main character just doesn’t look likeable at all he looks like the sort of insta influencer that pops up and tells us to maximise our performance at the gym… some sort of manosphere fella….

@Jean_McClane when Xbox bought all these external companies the elephant in the room was how to measure success giving all the games day one gamepass means plays aren’t as invested to play them if they bought them and also with Xbox studio games you know they are staying put so it’s easy to say actually I need to play these third party games before they “vanish” so you end up gaming how people game. It’s clearly damaged engagement in some games. Maybe the games are worse but the psychological aspect of how gamers engage must be different on a sub service compared to when paying directly for a game. You also then have the way you decide what’s good for the service. If players play a “short” game for 8 hours in three day they might be delighted and love it and finish it….. a live service game they might return and keep checking in on and doing some challenges and going no not for me still but over 2 years clock up 16 hours - which is better? The game might say I don’t like the second game but loved the first. It’s now tricky. Xbox will prefer the 2nd coz they stayed sub for 2 years and engaged with said game.

This comment section is wild. You can be pro Xbox and pro Xbox above everything else and that’s fine but the levels of crazy being shown in these comments - I think I need to start muting people. It’s tiring reading them 3/4 of you that defend and twist everything read like Bots tbh

@Banjo- fair dues. Thanks for the info.. I only PC game on a steam deck so I’ve never used the play anywhere stuff really, I know I could set it up on it but I haven’t…

@themightyant cost is the only reason. If Xbox studio games are more expensive on steam. I bought Forza Horizon 6 on Xbox over steam for now even though I’d play it more on the deck.

Stream playing games still isn’t the big draw many seem to think. More people in the world have internet connections that make it a horrible experience over a good one so I still don’t think play anywhere is the huge pull people here think and the fact she says Xbox isn’t healthy would suggest people aren’t throwing money at them

@Qozmyk this is fairly accurate. Forza sold loads and loads on Ps5 which is an excellent thing, money money to Xbox studios helps everything, Gears I assume didn’t sell as well, so they are holding back this and will hold back a few others just to say “we gave you exclusives” if they end up back on top with more sales on Xbox than PS then they won’t need to bother with PS but that’s a long game. Either way I still don’t understand why people here care so much…. Xbox studios selling massive amounts of games is good for Xbox in general. Makes everything stronger not weaker.

BC obviously I have boxes of games I’d love to play online XSX

All effect me and I don’t care if people can play Xbox studio games on their plastic box - more money for Xbox to invest in more games

@Skinny-Pete that’s the issue I have with my fellow xboxers it’s still about reading what Sony fans are doing or saying. Who cares. Nutters everywhere dude. Sony make terrible choices non stop too and Nintendo, don’t start me on 2k….. I don’t feel especially loyal to any of them. I know I play Xbox studio games more than anything else - but if I’m honest Forza does all the lifting. I love those games.

@Banjo- you are right. They are reacting to a most requested feature (apparently) I’ve never done a survey where they’ve asked me though…. Why so many care is beyond me. Xbox games selling 5m and taking money out of Sonys pocket is good for business and helps fund more Xbox studio games. Not selling games on PlayStation is never gonna sell 5 million copies on Xbox - especially with the GP model. So I’m not sure why timed exclusivity isn’t the dream. Day one on GPU and partially funded by PlayStation is the dream no? I’ve read litterally thousands of comments and almost all seem to suggest Xbox die if their games are on Sony selling 5m how is having a million selling game gonna kill Xbox studios? It’s making it stronger. Genuinely it is. Xbox are trying to appease an angry minority and they’ll still send most Xbox studio games to PlayStation I would wager

That’s their job. Unless you are a shareholder and a major one I don’t understand any of this trenches mentality like it’s a battle them versus us. We are all gamers and have a shared passion. Seriously, even the most blinkered, (insert console name here) fan can see this was a last min decision. She has been in place 100 days. So it’s less than that. They didn’t make a new video. Didn’t do due diligence and it’s clear it wasn’t a decision made with the same planning they usually would. She is trying to pivot and change the narrative round the brand and quickly. Mistakes are being made. Some are delighted and praising every decision but the very same people have praised every decision team X has made for years (see comment two here) playing to some sort of victim narrative….

Xbox made the decision a month ago is recent in game announcement terms especially one this big.

I’m not bothered about the decision I own an xbox and a PlayStation and don’t particularly like the management decisions by either. Not sure why anyone treats an electrical device like a sports team!

Imho gaming went seriously off track when we talk more about framerstes and resolution than how a game plays and how good it is. Some gamers genuinely buy games on this information and even here it’s labelled as “seriously ambitious” in part of a review I can see this being important information but having whole channels and articles obsessed with this and not the actual game is wild.

All this stuff is just about accounting. It’s nowt to do with anything else. Their best bet is to make some good games.

@Kezelpaso yeah I follow a few YouTubers that do crazy amounts of Forza H coverage and weekly guides to the playlist stuff and you can tell even they are struggling to dig into it all. It’s both a monster and a masterpiece
