IMHO social media for large companies should have a sense of humour and feel human. Never understand people that want companies to act like they aren’t run by a human.

@Savage_Joe and I absolutely support that. Users banned on one should be banned on all. Trolls popping on to pure Xbox because they prefer PS should be banned from Push square. That would soon sort out the constant trolling and insults we see on these pages

The abuse people think it’s ok to give out online needs to stop. Anyone saying “but they’ve spent thousands and now they are banned for a little bit of banter” grow up.

@Fiendish-Beaver a message on your Xbox seems sensible to me or when you enter you share your billing address and they send prize out. All this claiming prize stuff is to hope people don’t claim.

Surely there is a better way to deal with prizes and prize draws and the buzz that would follow… if month on month normal people were online showing off their prizes more and more would be entering and drawn to the brand survey! Making the claiming harder and having so few prize winners actually showing up is a bad look

@NostromoXP many devs especially solo ones wouldn’t even be in a place to upload anything to test in first year……. Ridiculous to have a time limit on it. Your first few ideas could easily fail or not turn out how you want. Before you want to test on an actual Xbox.

@jrt87 the email stated quite clearly why the accounts were being deactivated. Why should people wait to report. The U-turn is because of the backlash!

For the record - indie devs can take years and years to get a game onto the marketplace. Why would MS ever think just over a year from when Series s/x was available that Indie devs should have published at least one game….

Even so clearly it’s not a mistake. They thought this was a good idea. People that aren’t MS gatekeepers - pointed out the flaws with deleting accounts in this way - and they had to reverse the decision.

Ubi games drop in price hard and gold versions often for under £20 12 months later…. Much better to just wait for their games when complete versions are cheap. Physical and digital versions get heavy discount.

I still have my n64 plugged in and it’s complete nonsense to say this hasn’t aged well. Most FPS still don’t touch it. Great game and it’s still fun to play.

Presumably coming to gamepass too. Which would be superb. Will give it a play through for the 11,999 time and then 12,000 on the switch.

Free to play is never exciting. It’s compromised from the start and aimed at people that say things like….

“Free for me whilst whales pay”

I’d much rather just pay the play good games with basic things included rather than hearing over and over “you don’t have to pay..” and “it’s just cosmetics”

@Bobobiwan you are spot on. It’s a real shame that a series as large as Halo… a real juggernaut in gaming has gone FTP and the way of stupidly priced cosmetics and battle passes. I’d rather have paid £40 for the game and had unlockables built in. Custom armour and colours is sooooo basic that it should be in by default. Multiplayer skins do not ever justify these prices

I got a XSX, the 1tb expansion, 20th anniversary controller and the Forza controller and the mini fridge preorder. A bumper haul. Plus a couple of games.

@Hypnotoad107 by that logic “it’s doesn’t effect game play” you can have any art direction or in fact no skins at all. Just have the models and the frames bare.

The look and atmosphere of a game is everything. I don’t want crazy stuff taking me out of a game. If it’s in other people solo games fine. Have what you like but to have strange costumes in the middle of well established universe just ruins immersion.

@themightyant I don’t like either. I think halo has its own identity and should build on that. Not try and add stuff just to milk cosmetics. I don’t think it qualifies as gatekeeping. Wanting halo to maintain a look that fits its universe makes sense. I don’t want scooby doo or Ariana Grande turning up either. Same as in a Star Wars game. You don’t need to try and appeal to a wider base. Do what you do it’s good enough.

I like these. I’ll pass but you can always rely on adidas.

@Carck I’ll admit my no online play has been in place for a good few years after just being fed up with it all. Maybe everyone has given up with them. I was led to believe on many squad shooters it was essential. Either way it’s not for me.

I’m a male and the reason I don’t play multiplayer online is the endless abuse. It’s not just sexist (and that’s bad) it’s gatekeeping of “elite” gamers and sad little people who will abuse anyone that isn’t cool or good enough in their eyes to just look good. The whole thing is toxic to me and I play solo all the time. Now some games force me to play half online (Forza H) but I don’t have any voice and only race against AI. To take just the sexist nonsense isn’t solving the abuse people get everyday. All abuse should be stamped out.

I have a XSX under the tree this year (for me) from the Mrs…. I wanted the unboxing thing on Xmas day. Same reason Mrs is having her ridiculous Dyson hair thing on Xmas day. Is it really gonna be that bad?!?!?

The most tired trope of all is a reviewer saying something is full or tropes. It’s such a lazy review cliche and most tropes aren’t even tropes. It’s just a modern way of saying someone doesn’t like something. Most of them aren’t that frequent and it’s such an overused term.

The Sony lot are get similar abuse and hate online in recent times. People need to realise hate and abuse has no place online or anywhere.

Only Forza and Halo for me this year as games I really wanted to play. I haven’t played Halo yet.
I need to check out Psychonauts 2, personally I can’t say grade because honestly I don’t believe it is. But they’ve had a better year than Sony for sure. Some of the comments here I find bizarre mind you. You’d believe Xbox smashed it and couldn’t have done anymore.

@SuperKMx Halo 5 was given an 8 here and 84 overal on metacritic. So you are about right on both using that comparison.

Only 3 points between the two games on Metacritic was surprising I will say

@themightyant just for balance on the early reviews and high scores. Halo five was given an 8 here and is 84 on metacritic only 3 behind halo infinite.

So I guess it depends how people feel about 5 now and how closely it scores to infinite.

Is anyone surprise purexbox gives it a 9. I’m super hyped for it and I expect it to enjoy it loads but I wonder if many reviewers will be throwing nines at it. Even with this review it doesn’t really read like a nine. Nine is close to perfection. I’d imagine a great story and great open world for a nine no?

I’d snap this bundle for RRP. Would love it and use it all not just keep it for inflated fake value

@oconnoclast to be honest it was mocking the person a few above who suggested those moaning weren’t real car fans……. I hate people that put down others by saying “this game wasn’t for them” - this game couldn’t be more for me….Apologies…..

@oconnoclast 3 was a dream for real racing enthusiasts. It was perfect or near perfect. This is made for people that wanna do “fun stuff in fast cars” - most real racing enthusiasts want to build up to the worlds fastest cars. I spent hours tweaking cars in 3. Racing in 100s of different cars. It was a dream.

@JayJ seriously 90% of the games I play are racing games. I love cars and Forza H3 is one of my fave games of all time. I still find this game a bit of a grind and not holding my attention. You are making massive assumptions. I bought the Forza controller and was really looking forward to it. I’m sure I’ll still sink 100+ hours by the end of it. It just could and should have been loads better.

@JayJ do you genuinely prefer it to three? Two was nothing like this. The map didn’t have loads of stuff to do and it still worked. The gradual unlocking of events in 1 & 3 was far better. It’s about balance for me. I love open world racers. Not apparently not open world racers as a service.

@gollumb82 four was still too busy - and strange movie director missions and stuff. I’m ok with not everything being right up my street but if in the first few play sessions I’m feeling a bit burnt out by the grind - I stupidly decided to try and unlock some of the Forzathon stuff - it’s not a good sign. I think I need to go back and just ignore all that.

@gollumb82 a racing can be infinite for me. A game like Forza could keep spawning random race events with different restrictions and weather….. that would be ace but Forza quickly has 100s of things to do on the map and they keep coming but within 5/6 hours you have so much money and access to pretty much all the fastest cars…. Motivation goes and the grind style Forzathon seasons don’t cut it.

But on non driving games I agree 8-20 hours is the sweet spot for a story surely
