Too many Xbox shareholders on these pages and not enough gamers.

More delays for Xbox studios. More people saying it’s good news.

Justifying it with twaddle about release windows and corporate jargon.

When Bethesda was purchased my major complaint was that their releases would have to fit in a schedule with Xbox other studios. I was scoffed at. I also said it would lead to leads combined games.

Exclusive are still not hitting us at record pace are they.

I find it all a bit embarrassing. They say one thing when they are getting you to buy a console and another when trying to push a deal through.

Just make some games with the 4000 studios you already own.

Bethesda have hardly been churning out announcements on new games since they were bought.

How about a new doom? Quake? Wolfenstien? Fallout? No? You need to buy another company to not announce any new games.

Halo, Forza, GOW and COD that’s what you’re saying right?

Exclusives “free” on GPU was always gonna affect quality and quantity and it’s turned out to be true.

I’m not saying GPU isn’t a good service I’m talking purely exclusives. We all want exclusives surely?

I already “owned” everything but Forza 5 (I had all the DLC) as I had GPU. I still paid the 69p to have Forza 5 - was clearly a price error but still not great from a company that everyone tells me has so much money they can do what they want.

Where are the exclusives this year then?

This has been a very very poor year for Xbox and this continues that trend.

On the plus side. Next year has to be better? They can’t release minus 1 exclusives.

In my opinion, whilst this is one of the best World Cup versions of a football game. The depth and number of tournaments in a normal version is incomparable. The World Cup version had bare bones for replayability but was deeper and better than the free updates we now get.

A World Cup game with Historic world cups to play. With proper squads and stadiums would be something. You can play through qualifying and then World Cup 1990 and then jump to 2002… jump back to Brazil 1970…. Now that would be a game!

With nba 2k style filters.

@Kaloudz I meant the articles. We expect a Xbox slant to the Xbox in articles and reporting here. Not the comments but to be fair you get people that are blinkered to proxbox over anything in comments and that’s understandable. You own one console and it’s an Xbox it makes sense. I’m not mad at that at all.

I’m not a fan of console wars at all. I own all three top models and steam deck.

But I understand why you have people that are fans of one only and I am fine with it. I think too much of the gaming media is too pro one or the other and often lacks balance. Which is a shame.

The usual snowflakes melting over a throw away comment from someone not related to process.

However IGN editor deeply unprofessional and showing bias by waging in. Will in the future be weary of anything IGN say and do. IGN should really stay neutral and certainly not be encouraging less third party titles. Deeply concerning but unsurprising from the gaming “media” which in recent years have become a bias paid “influencer” style sham of what it was. Fortunately we have to protect the good ones. No shade at anyone at Pure Xbox - it’s called pure Xbox. You be as bias as you like it’s why we are here.

Last big Xbox studios exclusive we were given on GPU too. Seems like a long long time ago.

@Sol4ris I agree. My comment was a response more to the constant narrative that anyone that opposes the deal is a Sony fanboy and the deal can only be a good thing. Which is such a biased. “I want more “free” games on GPU” we all do.

Sony should challenge it just like Xbox would. I’m not emotionally invested in either massive corp. i own both. I want more independent thriving publishers and studios not less.

I don’t want all these masssive IPs fitting in under one corporation calendar budget and release schedule.

Agree with the above 3 is the best in the series. The last two have been far too reliant on live service and online elements. 3 was a beast without needing that.

Nintendo is Nintendo and they do what they do. They’ve proved before if they think someone treads on their toes their legal team is lethal. Ditto MS. Sony is just doing what the others would do. Imagine the posts on here it COD was being bought by Sony.

I own all three consoles and subscribe to all three at top tier. I don’t think this is a particularly good deal for the industry but I’ll take all the games on GPU.

I have my doubts this game will ever be released. Been following for years. It’s roster is almost unbelievable. They’ve a better roster than EA ever managed. I hope it sees the light of day but I have my doubts.

@pspooky I get what you are saying but the n64 controller and unique controls are what made goldeneye stand out. It certainly won’t have same magic if you strip that away. The trigger and controller were a big part of goldeneyes success

Fan boy nonsense is engulfing this site. It’s getting very boring. You can be a “big” fan of one console (although it’s highly unnecessary) and not defend everything to do with that console like a major share holder. Others are allowed to be disappointed with multiple aspects of your favourite console without you needing to feel like it’s a personal attack.

People really sometimes don’t understand why a game is special or works. People saying “only four players is rubbish needs to be more” has clearly never played it. You could not flood those maps and have fun. It’s designed for four. It’s designed for a n64 controller and both combined made it special

Don’t do it. Those of us that stupidly bought into the switch releases regret it. Honestly don’t get involved with LRG. Especially now a lot of the switch releases have got full releases. Don’t pay them extra for fake scarcity.

What is the solo player like on this?

To be fair this game has a massive amount of Content and modes. I’d go far as to say it might be the biggest leap a yearly sports game has ever made?

I didn’t think they could do anything to get me to buy it day one. Not after picking it up for a fiver within a year for the last few years…. But the revamped Jordan mode and the crazy Era mode makes this a monster for NBA fans.

I’d love an era mode in FIFA or Madden.

Pay for GPU get live service games. It’s why I don’t like the model. They aren’t interested in games you can complete. They want games people feel like they have to play and play and play. Everyone is chasing that fortnite addiction.

With all the moves Xbox has made the exclusives war will continue. I don’t get mad when Xbox do it so I can’t get mad when Sony do they same. I own both consoles for this reason.

I’ve ordered on ps5 anyway. Mainly coz my Mrs will play it.

Both Grid and Grid legends are both very decent games that were ignored for whatever reason. I’ve had a load of fun especially with legends. I’ve not done the story mode yet but the career is loads of fun.

Casual gamers that buy COD and only cod don’t care about GPU. That’s not the issue here. It’s the cut of the COD pie. Plenty of people buy cod and fifa and that’s it - maybe gta - look at the sales numbers. These people are gonna pay £100 plus a year to have GPU. They are gonna get COD at Tescos/Asda when shopping. Sales figures are crazy for COD.

I’d imagine the in game purchases are meaty too. Sony get a cut of that. They don’t want 25% even of the cod players going from them to Xbox. This is just common sense

It’s not the same and even close. More PR and spin. As someone else has rightly said….. subscription model killed blockbuster and GPU is subscription model.

Blockbuster had old movies new movies and you could pick what you wanted. It wasn’t heavily curated and movies wouldn’t suddenly vanish.

GPU is more like that dodgy little video rental section at the local corner shop…. The big new movies aren’t there day one and you end up with something just coz your there and it’s better than nothing.

Phil and the PR team at Xbox are amazing. They are very lucky to have them and the amount of good will they’ve created is almost unbelievable. Hats off to them.

No exclusives for a year in a strategy that is based one day one exclusives. The dude comes out and says the game I’m looking forward to most is on the competition and Xbox site says “we are lucky to have him running things”

Fair play that’s an amazing ability to have.

Of course his most anticipated game is not on Xbox this year…… that goes without saying

@Savage_Joe @Kezelpaso thanks. I have my old Xb1 set up in front room and I think my Mrs would love this. It’s a bit like (gameplay I mean) until dawn? And she loved that. She won’t play it where I have my XSX set up.

@SoulChimera it had licensed cars I guess, so many of my fave OG Xbox games were driving games or licensed. I’m glad we got the Star Wars ones.

Project Gotham, Rallisport 1&2 and Midtown would all have brilliant….

And buffy. I loved that game.

I will give this a go but I’m fairly sure from what I’ve seen the 77 is closer to what I will feel that 90…. 90 is GOTY and close to game of the gen territory…. I’m fairly certain it’s neither
