Playground Games Is Getting Help Developing Forza Horizon 5 Updates

Playground have delivered a 'new' Horizon game every 2yrs up to FH4 and then had 3yrs to make 5. Its almost 2yrs since 5 and maybe could bring 6 next year. As for Fable, they had expanded their Studio to have several games in development - 2 'teams' - so maybe not pulling devs away from 'Forza' to help with Fable - but required now for Horizon 6.

FH6 seems the most likely even though they are also working on Fable. I'd be more inclined to think it makes more sense to offload 'Support' on an 'old' game to another Studio to focus on the 'next' entry in the same 'genre/style' of game - taking Racing devs away from supporting their last Racing game seems more likely that they are now full speed into its follow-up...

I really hope they get their ***** together with FH6. FH5 was so underwhelming in every aspect: Progression, side stories, map design, radio stations and technical wise. Mexico was a really good pick, but they did a really poor job with making the game and world fun and alive. Instead it was bland and empty.

@BoiAster I’ve not really played the Forza Horizon games. Maybe 2 hours of FH5.

However, I was thinking of getting into it properly and really experience the game. In that case which would you recommend 4 or 5?

I want the best game, but also one with some still active online multiplayer content. So which is best?

@Kienda FH5 wasn't much of a leap forward but its still the best game in the franchise. Way more people will be online there too.

@Kienda In my opinion FH3 is still the best, hands down. You really can't go wrong with any of the first four FH games as all four are amazing and every game offers something else. If I had to pick between FH4 and 5, I would definitelly pick 4, as it's my favorite(I love the UK vibes).

@Kienda Horizon 3 is my favorite. Then 5. Then 4. It’s been far too long since I’ve played 1 and 2 but I remember enjoying them a lot as well. They’re all terrific games.

it's also increasingly likely that the bulk of the FH5 team has moved onto the next series entry..

It's much more likely that they are really busy with Fable.

@MustachioFurioso I'm happy that they are starting to do something else. We have had many racing games on Xbox One and Series S|X, it's about time to get Fable and hopefully Banjo-Kazooie, Viva Piñata, Conker, Jet Force Gemini...

I wonder if this points to development issues with the new Fable.

@InterceptorAlpha Unlikely given all the teasers that Fable will be a part of Sundays show…. Oh and by the way here is Fable 1-3 remastered dropping now…

Wouldn't surprise me if they're working on Forza Horizon 6. FH5 has pretty much gone through all it's content, just some of the regular monthly car drops for a while going forward.

@MustachioFurioso I’m with you on this. I hope they space Forza games out a bit, especially with Forza Motorsport in the mix again.

My guess is that these guys are deep into Fable development and prepping for a holiday 2024 release.

As 4 and 5 are on Game Pass I have downloaded both and will dedicate some time to each to try them out. I’ve been putting them off for too long.

Forza Horizon and Motorsport are easily the best games by miles under the Xbox umbrella. They are up there with the best games full stop. Getting other studios involved makes sense.

3, 1, 5, 2, 4 for me. But they are very close like so close. In all reality 5 is a better game than 1 but 1 is still so so good I put it slightly a head. 2 gets bonus points the extra Fast and Furious game.
