It's that time of year again! 2K has announced today that WWE 2K26 will be releasing for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with PS5, Switch 2 and PC) on March 13th, 2026, and it's packed with a ton of new features.
The cover star this year is CM Punk, and therefore he's the star of the 2K Showcase mode in WWE 2K26, which will see you reliving his career while also putting him in "Fantasy Warfare" scenarios. He's part of a 400+ strong roster in 2K26, which marks the biggest in franchise history, with newcomers including the likes of Rey Fénix, Rusev and Blake Monroe.
Four new match types will be part of WWE 2K26 — I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell and Dumpster — while other new gameplay additions include stackable tables, weapons such as thumbtacks and shopping carts, and a revamp of the Reversals and Stamina system. Wrestling game purists will note that we've seen some of these features in past WWE games, but it's certainly been a long time for some of them like the Inferno and Three Stages of Hell matches.
Every single game mode has received attention as well, with highlights including two new MyRise storylines with more replay value, support for more match types than ever in the strategy-based MyGM mode, the addition of the WWE Draft to Universe mode, a new storyline and environment in The Island, and twice the number of Create-A-Superstar slots in the exhaustive Creation Suite.
If you're interested, WWE 2K26 is now available to pre-order for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at a price of £69.99 / $69.99, and digital pre-orders come with both a Joe Hendry Pack for WWE 2K26 and the full version of WWE 2K25. Alternatively, there's also a King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition and Monday Night War Edition featuring extra DLC passes, additional playable superstars, in-game credits and early access from March 6th.
We'll leave you with a quote from Visual Concepts Greg Thomas about WWE 2K26, along with some screenshots:
“WWE 2K26 introduces several new community-requested match types and gameplay features. The team has put a lot of thought into refining the in-ring action and presentation, while also expanding creative options to allow players more freedom than ever before.”
