Update []: Microsoft has confirmed the release date for the ROG Xbox Ally today, but is choosing to stay quiet on the prices and pre-orders for a few more weeks.

"Stay tuned for more details about pricing and pre-orders in the coming weeks. We can’t wait for players around the world to experience this new way to play with Xbox."

In a follow-up interview, it was suggested that the "macro-economic climate" is to blame for the delay. We've covered this more elsewhere on Pure Xbox:

Original Story: Here we go! Ahead of the formal reveal which is expected to take place later today, it's been shared by reliable leaker billbil-kun that the ROG Xbox Ally will cost $549.99 USD and the ROG Xbox Ally X will cost $899.99 USD.

Obviously these are two different versions of the Xbox handheld - the cheaper one is meant for 720p gaming at lower graphical settings, while the more expensive one targets a 1080p resolution.

Here's the reveal of the "final prices" for the ROG Xbox Ally in the US:

We're expecting to get formal confirmation of these prices from Microsoft at some point later today during the Xbox broadcast that's taking place from 9am-12pm EST.

Pre-orders are also expected to begin later today, and the release date is set to be confirmed as October 16th.

Stay tuned, we'll hopefully have more details for you very soon!
